Which server for EU player?

Hi, I just started playing this game and so far it looks fun. However, I read the german server is kinda empty (I'm german, duh). Same thing I read about the other EU servers but I dunno how old that information is. I'd be fine with playing on a US server so my question is: is there any with a couple active players at about 11 am EST? Or is Union still a good choice?

The reason why I came here in the first place was because my former mmo is pretty deserted aswell :/

Virtue and Freedom are the most populated non-EU servers; they have players on pretty much 24/7. Obviously, it's easier to find a team on weekends and when it's evening in North America, but there's always SOMEONE on.

Between the two, Freedom is a little more casual and has more farmers, power levelers, and such, while Virtue is a little more serious and has more roleplayers. Both have way more players than most of the other servers, though, so you should be able to find people you'd enjoy playing with on either one. I've seen French and German speaking players occasionally on both of those servers, as well.

Honestly you'll likely find many people online during that time nomatter the server (granted the EU servers apparantly have smaller populations) as there are just as many people from around the world who play this game as there are U.S./EU players. I find it quite often that I'm speaking to someone from say Australia or even South America during the early AM hours EST on Pinn.

You might wanna give us an idea of the type of play you enjoy and how casual a gamer you are. Some people are hardwired to the game (I swear the RJ45's soldered to their spine) and others pop-in once a week/month. Another thing to look at is server load when you login. You don't even have to waste a character slot for this test. You can get a good idea as to how active the server is by looking at the color coded list during the time of day you wish to play. Red may be a bit much or just what you want. It really depends on your playstyle and lag tollerance.

Does it come with retractable claws and a smart-gun link?

From my experience, Virtue (originally one of the "West Coast" servers) is more active during West Coast prime times, and Freedom (originally one of the "East Coast" servers) seems most active earlier than that -- East Coast prime times.

But both are probably still more active at 11 AM EST than many other servers.

Virtue and or Freedom, says this American night shift worker. I take my toon's "life" in my hands when I create him or her on another server as I prefer to team. Sometimes I can't even find a team on those servers, but that's partkly because redside is becoming a ghost town no matter which server you're on.

The other european servers are Vigilance (French), Defiant and Union (both English).
I've had a few characters on the Freedom server, because i thought it would be easier to get a team over there, even during European "low" times (late at night untill +-15:00). And while sometimes it's easier to get a team on Freedom, I feel the player on Defiant are a lot nicer.
No "PLZ POWERLVL MEH" spam, no chinese inf farmers spam, a lot of helpful veteran players, and an overall nicer (less aggresive, less quickly to be offended by jokes) playerbase.

As for finding a team on Defiant, when you join the "Defiant Events EU" channel it's easy enough to find a team for almost everything.

It really depends what time of day you wish to play. I'm from England and play on Defiant. Mornings and afternoons it is quiet. From about 6pm BST (British Summer Time) it fine. As Thoran_EU says the players are mainly very friendly and helpful.

We have a active (if some would say small) player base. With people who seem to spend most of the time running events most of which are posted on the "Defiant Events EU" channel.

... i would like to add, that after a talk with a friend, i joined "Virtue Tfs" (although not a sinlgle toon out of defiant)..... i noticed that there was a constant recruiting action in this channell (all trials and tfs filled very quick), even from the early EU morning hours, and also always on topic and no elitist attitude from the recruiters.. something i liked

Wow so much response, thank you! I've already "wasted" my first character slot on Virtue right after the download was done so I'm happy to hear it's a well populated server. I will give Defiant a shot later but coming from a zombified mmo and another abandoned one I crave something more active for now.

.. If u roll a toon in defiant , you must join "Defiant Events EU" channel, its the place where we all hang on (and action is mostly organized).....

If you join the Defiant Events EU you will find that some of the more experienced plays run the incarnate trials a lot at set times,already been said we are a nice friendly server with people on at all times of day and night.

I've found Union to be quite active during that time slot, but as others have said, several servers are viable options. I'm sure both Virtue and Freedom will be usually fairly active at that time, too, so in my opinion, it's more a matter of the feel/culture of the server that's important. And nobody can really advise you there, as it's all up to personal taste.

Regardless of the server, find out and join the big global channels that that server uses to get the most out of wherever you land.
