  1. Please make the citizens non-targettable, since they can't be harmed. The tab-target spam in these missions is already at an ungodly level.

At the very least, give lightning field a chance to recover drained endurance from targets to the user.

The big problem with this power set, as I have stated earlier is that you cannot cover the self heal hole. Aid Self is an interruptable power, and /elec is a +res power set, therefore you can't rely on using it when you really need it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sure there is. And it's not interruptable either. There are these little things called Inspirations. There's a green variety of them that *gasp* heals you!

Yes there are holes, however if there were no holes, why would anyone play anything other then this set? Why does everyone think that this set should be so much more powerful than all the other Armours? This set has some amazing powers and some amazing strengths, yet everyone is only concentrating on a couple of the weaknesses that it has. It's kind of depressing, really.

Now, no one has played this set to any kind of decent level, however from the low levels that I've been through it looks like a fun, neat set. Maybe we should give it a chance and actually try the aspects of it out that we're complaining about before whining.

    I'm just sayin'.....

    [/ QUOTE ]

QFT. Nothing wrong with the set having holes, every set does, and every set needs some for balance. The holes in this set aren't insurmountable by any stretch of the imagination.
  4. I don't see anything glaring so far that seems wrong power-wise, but for the love of god, can Lightning Field's graphics get toned down?

I didn't think it was possible to make an aura that was more eye-searing and headache-inducing than Blazing Aura, but Lightning Field definitely is. It's -painful- to keep on, and that's even with a massively reduced particle count.

Any pwer that does AoE damage will interrupt the stalkers AS and take him out of hide. Problem is you have to have an AoE power that is always on to do it. I know there are a few powers like this that are always on and will do damage. The way a stalker can avoid this is by using one of his knockdown powers on you before he gets into the AoE, then use placate to hide himself again.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Powers do not have to do damage to render you an unattractive target. There are at least a handful of dark and cold (storm or ice control) powers (please don't ask me what they are, I've only been on the receiving end of them, and can only identify the animations) that deal no damage to the stalker, but constantly friggin' interrupt their AS, making it pointless for them to bother.

One of two things happens when I encounter a target like that. Either I become annoyed and leave them alone...or I get so absolutely irritated that destroying them becomes my personal mission. I lean towards the latter, mostly.

The best things you can do to avoid Stalkers don't have anything to do with your AoEs. Continue moving, be part of a team (or at least standing near people - we can't tell if you're teamed or not, you know), and avoid the fringes of hotspots.

Why the fringes? Because Stalkers are squishy too, so we're not usually going to expose ourselves in the -middle- of the hotspot (too great a chance we won't make it out alive), but the fringes of the hotspots are great for stalkers. You're usually distracted and possibly already down some health (eliminating our need to hit you twice), and we can get in, get out, and get on with life.

In response to someone else's earlier speculation--I wouldn't expect to see negative energy resistance in Shadow Dweller, whatever it is. Dark Armor already gets that in two powers, Dark Embrace and Murky Cloud, so a third would be overkill. I have no reasonable guesses as to what it could be, though. It could be something really off-the-wall, and be in keeping with the rest of the set; I think a short-lived pseudo-pet that can distract enemies (but not do damage) while you go back into hide would be fun, and it would fit the name. I don't actually expect anything that cool, however.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I bet it does.

That would make it exactly like /EA, which gets energy defense in its toggles -and- in a perma power devoted just to energy defense.

If you haven't done a single one of your missions since your character was created, and you're level 40.

. .. you might be a force field defender.

    My personal suggestion:

When people are scattered all over hell's half-acre, e.g. in the Atta mission, and you are teleporting them back so you can renew their force fields [plus, they're scattered. . . ], PORT THE SIDEKICK FIRST.

    Oops.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No no. Teach them with tough love. Teams that are scattered all over hell and creation don't GET reshielded. If you make a decision to run off on your own away from the main group, guess what? You're on your own.

  11. Having trainers in Pocket D makes absolutely no sense. Pocket D is a 'time off from work' area. Why on earth would official trainers be -working- there? That's just silly.

I can see needing to have a store there to purchase enhancements garnered from the missions (makes sense to have a little under-the-table commerce going on in a club), but if you absolutely have to go pick up a new power/slots you can leave the club to do it. It's not like your effective combat level doesn't go up automatically when you gain a new level, whether you've trained or not...

You know, I understand it's a difficult concept to grasp, but sometimes people *do* go AFK to deal with things from RL....not -just- to keep you from collecting your precious bounty.

    [/ QUOTE ]
If this happens, the solution is simple:
<ul type="square">[*]If something comes up that demands your immediate attention, simply type /quit and hit enter.[*]If you have at least a few seconds or so before you have to leave, then get out of the zone and go AFK all you want.[/list]There is a huge difference between being rude an obnoxious to a character and being rude and obnoxious to a player. That difference is what I consider "griefing." Going AFK in the Siren's Call hospital is the latter.

Oh, and when it's happened to me that my bounty goes AFK in the hospital, in every single case, it's also happened to other people on my team who had the same most wanted. So when one does it, they're not just being rude and obnoxious to one player, they're likely being rude and obnoxious to a bunch of players. Worse, on several occasions, it's happened a few times with players who were there for an hour or longer, either using a autoclicker or manually nudging their character enough to keep them from autologging. I remember one night in particular, my team and a whole bunch of others fired off somewhere around 20 or 25 petitions (one each, of course) to get the person kicked.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You know, I'm pretty sure that works both ways. Why don't *you* logout and back in to reset your bounty if it's that big of a deal and you can't wait the 15 minutes for the (supposedely) AFK person's auto-log to kick in, hmm?

    Learn some patience.

Dude, griefing is going AFK in your own damn hospital in Siren's Call, keeping anyone from collecting bounty on you. The MM deserved what he got, and even though I've played many villains in my time, I thank you for doing what you did.

We're tweaking with toggle dropping...mostly decreasing its overall effect.

We just received tech that will allow players to pass buffs onto certain powers (such as Blizzard).

    [/ QUOTE ]

By 'tweaking with toggle-dropping' you really mean 'We took this ridiculous ability away from Assassin Strike but have left everything else alone, right? Right?' *grovels*
  15. [ QUOTE ]
They had to do this, otherwise the exploit for it is REALLY obvious.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh definitely. It makes perfect sense, I just wasn't thinking about it when I deleted the alt and therefore put it out as a warning.

I do disagree with going into the negatives if you spend the Prestige and then someone leaves. Perhaps if they leave in less than X amount of time, I could see it. (To prevent THAT exploit)...but leaving in general causing loss of Prestige is silly. If they earned the Prestige while in the SG, and the Prestige was spent while they were in the SG, then I don't see a problem... (As long as they were a member for say, a minimum of 30 days.)
  16. [ QUOTE ]
which brings up a good point?

do you get the 20k per character/toon that is a member (up to 15)? or does it track by account (i.e. unique players)?

    [/ QUOTE ]

It tracks by character, not player. I confirmed this last night on my sub-SG (Which, ironically, had its Prestige).

Another thing to note, if you have 12 members, and therefore 240,000 Prestige, and a member quits...you immediately drop to 220,000 Prestige. (Also confirmed, unintentionally. )
  17. Why not enable the opening of a basic 'Base' with Prestige, but then use influence to flesh it out beyond that point?

I could live with that, I think. That way every SG can say 'This is our base', but the ones that have spent time and effort on saving to improve it would have fancier, nicer bases. Which is really how it should be...

Earn enough 'Prestige' in the eyes of the city, and they give you a little plot of land to make a base on...

...then spend your hard-earned influence to upgrade that little plot of land into the uber-base you desire.

(Oh, and for everyone saying 'Just go into SG mode and set your colors to your normal colors'...have you SEEN the way some of the costumes look with chest emblems slapped over the middle of them? Pretty much every top choice -but- the basic tights and the new jackets looks worse in SG mode because the emblem totally borks the 'fabric/armor' pattern underneath and/or drops the SG emblem right on the skin of the character like an ugly temporary tattoo. Now, if they want to spend time making it so I can put my SG emblem on my lapel, or belt, or headband, or mantle brooches, or cape instead of right smack in the middle of my chest, maybe it'll be easier to deal with...but do you really want them to pull time away to work on that right now?)
  18. I posted this on the Virtue board this AM, and figured it belonged here too..

A few questions come to mind, though...

    1. If someone leaves an SG, do they immediately lose all prestige they earned, and become therefore unable to contribute to a new SG?

    2. Will there be something implemented to enable changing of SG colors/symbol after formation without completely restarting the SG? (Because let's face it, there's a lot of cruddy color/symbol combinations out there..)

    3. Is it based off time spent -fighting- in SG colors, or can I merely sit around in my SG uniform and rack up prestige?

    4. Am I the only one that thinks this penalizes the small SGs even more than having to pay influence? Influence can at least be borrowed/loaned...prestige sounds like it stays with the character, which is going to make nice bases very difficult for the small SG.

I can't say this idea -completely- bites, but I would prefer to see Prestige used to open 'extras' in base creation, instead of as the foundation for the base as a whole. There's just something inherently wrong about asking a superhero to give up the identity that they shaped and earned to build a base.. I mean, seriously...think of the Justice League here.

Did anyone ever see the Justice League running around in matching uniforms, or even common colors? Not that I recall, and yet they've got an awesome base...

I like my SG uniforms, I'm proud of them...but I don't routinely wear them (Usually only when teamed with non-SGmates), and in some cases going to SG mode completely destroys a character's concept costume (if you have important chest detail, for example...or any of the 'tops with skin' options that wind up putting your SG emblem on flesh instead of shirt ).

Should not time spent fighting as a MEMBER of an SG count just as much? It's not like the 'world' doesn't immediately recognize our supergroups (thanks to them being common knowledge, just under our names) anyway...
  19. I'm not sure exactly where to start here.

My initial feeling is that this might be a good change...but we need some new defense to offset our lack of offense, please.

As a fire/energy tank, there was always something about Burn that bothered me. Sure, it was easy, but I always felt that I wasn't doing my job if I couldn't get all the mobs clustered around me and set them on fire..for whatever reason.

I think I'm going to enjoy being able to dump Burn (And Devs, please, but the immob protection someplace else so that we can indeed dump it if it doesn't have new abilities added) as an offensive power and go back to beefing up my secondary attacks (Which was my plan before being introduced to Burn anyway.)

We need some defense or buffs to balance though, please. Please. Even if it's something as paltry as rewriting Burn to be the Hoarfrost/Dull Pain equivalent for Fire....which, come to think of it, would be pretty kickin'...if it came with a defense buff and some knockback resistance....
