  1. I still don't understand 'body armor' powerset. How is it any different from just making a character have body armor and picking invulnerability or a powerset that matches what you'd be looking for in your armor? A name is just a name you know, you could pick Shield Defense and still call it Body Armor.
  2. 1. All 'elemental Weapons' for powersets have an alternative 'non-weapon' based animation.

    2. Defender and Controller's Forcefield's 'Forcebolt' power has been increased in damage to make up for Forcefield's lack of support during solo play.

    3. Many older contacts have been improved and give more modern versions of their older missions. The stories these contacts are a part of have not been altered but their missions have been improved.

    4. Eviscerate of the Claws powerset now has an alternative animation that says planted on the ground. This enables Stone Armor Brutes to pick the Claw powerset but forces their eviscerate to use this alternative animation.

    5. Repel from the Kinetic Powerset now actually 'repels' enemies instead of knocking them back. Endurance cost has been reduces as well.

    6. Whirlwind and Hasten have been switched (lolololololololololol, cry moar)

    7. Creators of 'farms' in the Mission Architect will have their ability to use the Mission Architect revoked. People caught using farms will be warned twice then have their ability to gain EXP from the mission architect revoked (this is account wide).

    8. Caves suck, we know. We've made a new caves map style that is betterer and no longer sucks. Old cave maps will be replaced with this new one unless specified. Old cave maps will still be available in Mission Architect.

    9. Ice Shields have had graphic improvements to make them less of an eye sore.

    10. Dispersion Bubble has had a graphics improvement to make it obstruct people's vision less when looking through it.

    11. Poison no longer is mediocre for Masterminds in comparison to.. every other powerset available. (insert various changes here.. insert any change really)

    12. Dr. Quarterfield is no longer a ridiculously long taskforce. Many of the 'kill 50 rularuu' missions have been cut out to streamline the experience.

    13. Mastermind power 'Serum' now affects all soldiers but at only 33% power.

    14. Ice Armor for Stalkers. Oh and Ice Melee.

    15. Gravity Control's 'Propel' has had it's cast time reduced. Damage and recharge has been adjusted to make up for this change.

    16. All single target 'Foe Intangible' powers now have a recharge of 16 seconds and a duration of 7 seconds. Recharge does not affect these powers in any way. This will make this powers more attractive to soloers and slightly more helpful in groups. AoE intangibles are left untouched for now.

    17. We deleted Peacebringers. Because nobody likes peacebringers (just kidding)

    18. Heroes are no longer required to go 'full villain' for PPPs. They must simply go to a Trainer in either a shared co-op zone or the Rogue Isles (Vigilantes only) to receive a PPP.

    19. The time it takes to go back to a 'hidden' state for Stalkers has been reduced greatly. This is to help Stalkers in longer fights against AVs and to encourage multiple Assassin Strikes in a single fight.

    20. 'Cloak of Fear' no longer exists (Due to oppressive gloom having a stun with the same magnitude and less endurance cost). only a toggle that gives all of your attacks a chance to inflict fear on your opponent. Longer recharging powers have a higher chance and a higher magnitude. (This power still provides the badass screaming skulls while on)

    21. Endurance cost of Dark Regeneration has been reduced. Healing provided has also been slightly reduced to make it less attractive against single targets.

    22. Lightning Rod damage nerfed by 20%.

    23. When starting a TF, the Contact will tell you what to expect within the TF (highlighting main features such as enemy groups, locations etc), Number of merits rewarded and any other rewards that come with it (Badges, Respecs, Hami-o's, etc)

    24. Respecs can now be purchased for 350 Merits!
  3. I like Bill's Idea only because it would be a 'quick fix'

Personally, I'd just like there to be a little box right after the name of a person that is either checked or not. If it is, they are in a group, if not, they are free to be invited.

I'd also like for there to be a way to see which people you've chatted with within the last, lets say, 10 minutes. I get paranoid when I'm going down the list that I've asked the same person twice whether or not he would like to join my team/TF.
  4. I found Gale's post slightly closer to the truth but both gave me a chuckle.

There is not much I can say about the trials other than I refuse to do them. If I want to play 'end-game' ill go play WoW and, due to all the years i've played MMO's, thats no longer what I want. But, even with my uninspired opinion on 'trials' I find it disheartening that the Devs gave the players a generic 'end-game' system that exists in nearly every other MMO yet wasn't received as well. It's strange really. People are fickle.

Perhaps after the 'Omega' trial we can hopefully see old content revamped. The Devs HATE visiting old content. H.A.T.E. This can go back to the 'cottage rule' , the Shadow Shard, reviewing old powersets, revemping old mission content etc etc etc. They simply don't want to do it. I think that if they did revamp this older content we'd see less farmers (thus more people playing in other zones thus more vitality and easier team building), less boredom from older, experienced players and possibly a better reason for people to return to city of heroes.

'end-game' isn't very appealing after the first 'instance' or 'trial' or 'raid' because the rest after that are essentially the same. This game's combat and overall engine hasn't aged well and isn't very flexible unless your very savvy with it (luckily our devs are!), so these 'trials' are all going to work and operate the same anyway.
  5. Just. Proliferate. Sonic Resonance. To. Masterminds. Gawd!

Can we just delete the AE? (Velocity runs away in a panic, scared of the farmers and their rage... they will never find him in Cascade Archipelago!)

You'd be amazed. I've seen men that could put 90% of all women to shame.
  8. Weave is always a nice option, yet it is still 3 powers just to get there. Only go for Weave if you don't already have Maneuvers (power pool). Maneuvers may provide slightly less defense but it helps out your entire team slightly more. Maybe its just the 'supporter' in my soul that tells me to help others before myself /dramatic. you could always pick up Assault or something..?
  9. Anyone remember the Knives of Artemis? (4 people raise their hand). Yeah those chicks need love too.

SB obviously needed to have a pop-up window, the other buffs do not. Speed Boost's +speed can be a killer for low-end computers, the other buffs really don't have that issue, just provide yummy +Resistance/Defense. Speed boost is one of the only powers that people specifically ask NOT to be buffed with.
  11. Eviscerate!

If Eviscerate got a non-jumpy animaton then Stone Armor Brutes would be allowed to take the powerset I believe. Also, the jump looks really tacky for people with wings.
  12. Mabye the devs just wanted crabs to have a hole in their defense? Also, with tough, their resistances [to s/l] are huge for a ranged/support class. I know that its very customizable, but I don't think the devs had any other choice but to reduce the Crab's S/L so that the crab wouldn't be a mage-tank without very heavy investment.
  13. EVEN BETTER: Play a ranged-mace Bane spider. No cloak, no Shatter, all mace-beam attacks.

Crab is generally the AoE machine but my Bane that i'm working on can hold his own against any Crab spider in terms of raw damage. I don't know what it is but people don't tend to like Bane Spiders as much as Crab.. even though they are just as powerful if not more so against AV/GMs.

totally off topic but i never knew Katana's damage was -that- much lower than Broadsword's. wow.

But anyway, Assault is a good afterthought power. It's damage boost is nice but only if you didn't sacrifice a potentially good power for it. Giving up, say, Accelerate Metabolism isn't worth it. You also have to remember the endurance cost is fairly high (0.33 compared to most 0.21). Other than that, its great for heroes with few toggles and already have all of their 'core' powers.

Soldiers of Arachnos should really consider picking up assault.

    Most survivable

Stone/Dark/Soul Tanker. Capped in nearly everything +Darkest Night gives -21% enemy damage. I'm sure someone will do the math for this but essentially you have 99% damage mitigation +rediculous regen. This build goes very far with alot of frankenslotting for +regen. With Siphon Life, Rooted, -Tohit and possibly Aid Self, your unbreakable.

I sincerely hope that they reconsider Speed Boost as an AoE. Some people don't enjoy the extra speed. Perhaps make a pop-up window come up for these new AoE buffs similar to Rez notifications and what-not. That way people can say 'no, I'm an idiot and don't want your helpful buff'

But this AoE-Buff thing is 100% good. There is zero reason to complain about this. Unless your M. Bill and have a problem with progress.

    Earth/NRG Build

Heavy Area Hold? You have Earthquake and Quicksand. Earth Control is one of the (if not THE) best AoE control set out there.

Since your Energy, your AoE damage is lol, lets just face facts here. But your Single Target Damage is looking stellar. If you pick up Primal Mastery you can get Energy Transfer to go with Bonesmasher, Total Focus and Power Burst. Fire Mastery would get you Fireball for some extra AoE though.
  18. Screw the cottage rule.

Anyway Flash Freeze is fine. Yeah it isn't that useful in comparison to the rest of Ice Control but not every power needs to be gold. We already have Arctic Air and Ice Patch, two very nice powers. If anything, Flash Freeze should do zero damage but also have very heavy -end effect on it just for funzies.

Hell I dunno. I'm pretty content on where Ice Control is at the moment.
  19. Earth Control may not benefit from Domination as much as a Mind Controller but Earth Control has Earthquake, making any argument for Mind Control invalid. Oh, and a cool poo-monster.

Seriously though, yes, Domination doesn't affect all powersets equally. No, it shouldn't be changed because the sets that aren't affects a whole lot (Earth, Ice, Fire) generally have saving graces:

    Earth: Earthquake, Poo-monster/tank
    Ice: Ice Patch, Arctic Air
    Fire: Fire Imps, Bonfire

So whatevs. Domination isn't really used to boost the mag of powers much anyway. It's generally used as a free end bar and a way to get out of a mez. Free Blue+Break Free? Yes please.

And to think after so many people raged about how these QoL changes would never happen.. they did, and you know what these people are doing now? Keeping their mouth shut so everybody else doesn't remember who they were.. Memphis Bill.
  21. Lovely changes that aren't completely disastrous or that will explode the game. I like these. Please implement in some way.

Edit: I'd personally like to see Liquefy have a lower recharge over all. Without or without the changes.

But anyway, Psionic damage is no longer an exotic, deadly damage anymore. If anything, Negative is probably worse due to the -tohit. With things like Elusive mind and IO bonuses patch Psionic damage. But yes, Sonic should have a weakness of some kind, and mabye that should be Psionic. So I don't care either way.
  22. normally I like knockback but why would the devs give knockback to a melee powerset? Makes no sense. Should simply be changed to knockup/down.

What I sincerely would like to see is a "And I want only this level to spawn." option at the Fortunata/Hero Corps person.

Now, this isn't a way to just eliminate any sort of a challenge. If I wanted a challenge, I would agree to have a challenge set for me, not dumped on-top of me without my known. Kind of like say, a Task Force, where I sign up knowing there will be a challenge, rather than walking into a standard mission where oops, everything is suddenly a step harder than I wished it to be.

Leave the option there for people who like variation in their enemies, but for me it is beyond frustrating, as I choose to play many squishes (At low level, before SO's, dont y'know?) where landing an attack on a +0 enemy let alone +1 is a task enough.
I agree completely with the OP and to this day still can't figure out why the devs haven't changed this. For some characters 1 more level is the breaking point and can result in failure. Seriously, +0 should mean +0, not +0 and +1. There is no excuse here, this is technically a bug and should be fixed.
  24. Can I just have Sonic Resonance on my MMs? That is all I ever wanted.
