  1. Zombies are squishy until the Lich comes around. Once you have the Lich, slot it for -tohit and your sacks of rotting flesh will have an easier time surviving.

    But yes, Bot/Traps is godlike.
  2. Hurricane already provides a huge -to hit debuff that should never be ignored.

Assuming your Hurricane has no -tohit enhancements, you technically only need 22.5% defense to hit the 45% mark.

This would assume hurricane is affecting your enemies.

I'd go for +Recovery and +Recharge. +Recharge so you can spam Freezing Rain, Tornado, and Thunder Storm more often.
  3. The 'dedicated healer' idea for the medic would be a very interesting idea. It wouldn't need nothing but heals but make him heal much more often.

My protector bots on my Robot/Storm heal more often individually than the damn medic.

Perhaps give the medic some sort of Vengeance style power. He could only use it on a fallen Merc that would buff all other mercs and perhaps yourself.

This would help keep your entire squad from dieing because 1 link in the chain died.

I'm just brainstorming, nothing I'm terribly serious about.
  4. Secondary wishlist:
    Cold Domination

    Primary wishlist:
    Aliens
    Sharks /w Lasers
    Reptiles or Snakes
    Druid-theme
    Robotic Ninja Zombies.
  5. I always go with 'Operative' in front of my Soldier's name. My fortunatas and Widows I go with whatever, as they are not actually 'operatives' in the same sense a Soldier is.

This almost always garantees the name won't be taken either. 'Operative' is not only Thematic but strangely not used by as many people as I would have hoped (Lucky me)
  6. Mastermind: I can haz Cold Domination?

If your playing for optimization when you might as well just role a Fire/Kin controller.

Energy/Devices works perfectly fine. Your damage will be about 90% of other blasters but you'll have more surviveability due to all the goodies in Devices and all the Knockback in Energy.

Energy/Devices will survive longer than a Rad/Fire in a long fight by far.

Don't sweat it, nobody in this game is going to RAEG at you for picking specific powersets.
  9. With 6 minions, Serum's single target effect is the killer. So what you made 1 of your minions (most likely the Commando) next to unstoppable. The other 5 are most likely going to die if you attempt to take advantage of such a situation.

All-Pet Serum perhaps? (Can we call it Stimpack?)

    Bots/Storm

Yes, Hurricane is huge mitigation. Not only from the knockback but from the -tohit. That stacks with your robot's sheilds, giving them massive surviveability.

Thunder Storm is iffy. It's titanic endurance cost makes it a strange power. It hits somewhat hard, but, boy, even after 3 Endurance redux, it's endurance cost is rediculous.

    Tornado is amazing though.

Also, taking mace's AoE immob is more powerful than most people realize. Sometimes you don't wan to knockback your enemy. This is the attack to prohibit the chaos a little bit (why you would want to is beyond me).
  11. hehe... lego hands..

anyway, I do feel like certain unlockable costume pieces should be available at day one. Specifically capes. I found it very strange back in 06' that I couldn't wear a cape until 20. Many new people (and trial accounts) won't (can't) get to capes due to them either having more fun making a bunch of toons in the form of altitus or trying to find the perfect character for them or they simply can't get to 20 due to the trial account.

I agree with Sam, new people coming into a super hero game only to find out that they can't use capes right off the bat is a big mental downer. It's like playing a game of cards only to find out you don't get your hand until 10 minutes into the game. A strange analogy but it makes you question the intention of such a rule.

Anyway Capes are the biggest gripe. Everything else is 'meh' to me, although as equally important to others I'm sure.

Spy! Red spy is in the base!
  13. After I make a new character and try to get a Sewer team going. If it doesn't start off well then I get real cranky.

    Sonic woes?

As the Doc has said, It's considered 'the best' but it's not leaps and bounds above all the rest.

Defenantly the best Damage wise due to the -res but don't expect it to carry you through the game.
  15. I've been away for awhile and I noticed my robot's resistance sit at 21% I thought it was a tad higher in the past too.

I'd like this question answered too please.
  16. Yeah, it sure looks awesome.

I wish all powersets got an animation update, nothing fancy.. just every power be unique.

    one can only dream.
  17. Why did you post this here? The Devs are just waiting to apply the nerfbat to Vengeance, and now they have their chance!!!

Preferably one that isn't horribly gimped? Why can't I have a Firey Melee variant on my Scrapper that has Combustion instead of Cremate? Can I have Baphomet's Flaming Footstomp instead of Greater Fire Sword?

I cannot see or accept two powersets that are the same thing but with different powers. It's just not a type of game design I want to be part of.

As well, only one AT uses Broadsword in a way that's at all comparable to Battle Axe, and that's Scrappers. Stalkers have access to Broadsword, but it has one big honkin' stab attack in the form of Assassin's Strike. You DO NOT STAB with an axe. I don't care if you slash, slice or hack with it. That's permissible. But you do not stab with an axe. I don't care if it has a spike at the end. An axe is not a stabbing weapon. A halberd may be, but a halberd is more pike than axe, and is two-handed, to boot.

Once upon a time I tried to argue to allow small hatchets to be used with Dual Blades, but with at least two attacks and Assassin's Strike using stabs, that went out of the question entirely. You don't stab with an axe. It'd be like stabbing with a mace just because it has spikes on the ball.
So? There can be seperate animations for seperate weapons, also, who's the say someone wouldn't want to stab with an axe? does it piss you off that much to see a Stalker carrying an Axe in place of a sword? If so, perhaps you need to lighten up.

And no, Mace wouldn't be apart of this process. A Mace is a Mace and works entirely differently and cannot be interchanged.

By the way, does it irritate you when an AR blaster wielding a shotgun but use Flamethrower? Mabye there needs to be a seperate Shotgun set and Flamethrower set. /chuckle.
  19. Reason: With Force Bubble right around the corner. Repulsion Field sees little to no use. It has a smaller radius, higher endurance cost, and cost endurance per-target. This power is completely and utterly replaced by Force Bubble. There are a lot of powers that can be replaced by other powers that do their job better. But Force Bubble is in the same set as Repulsion Field. It either needs lots-o-love or just needs to be replaced.

Replacement Idea: Bubble Wall. Create a stationary, invincible or sturdy 'bubble' pet that essentially is there just to take up space. This power can be used to wall off certain areas or to create a buffer between you/allies and the enemy. Lasts for X seconds. with possibly double recharge.

If it's invincible, then it cannot be targeted. If it's simply sturdy, then it can be targeted and destroyed/broken. I prefer sturdy but it's simply a suggestion.
  20. Welcome to the internet.

Where sensible, intelligent people stop being sensible and be ignorant, stop being intelligent and be stupid and stop being people and be trolls.

I would have gotten a ticket up and explained the situation to a GM.
  21. /signed...

    If I get quadruple Archery...
Rain of Arrows... blot out sun...

    wait, /unsigned!
  22. Braod Sword and Battleaxe are both slash weapons. I'd like to see both be renamed to 'Heavy Blade'. That way both could either be an Axe or a Sword.

Niether Axe or Broad Sword are used by a singe archetype so I feel that it would be perfectly fine to call them the same thing and allow both to use axes and swords.

They would be different mind you. Battle Axe would still have all it's powers, and Broad Sword would still have all of it's. They would just have the same name and shared weapon skins.
  23. Giving Tar Patch to Blasters scares the bejeezus out of me. I doubt it would completely and utterly destroy the multiverse but I dislike the idea of Blasters getting such a signature power from Dark Miasma. Expecially one as powerful as Tar Patch.

I suggest either Shadow Cloak (I know nobody likes it but it's thematic) or Touch of Fear.

    Other than that,

    Yes.
  24. --If you don't want to read my historical post, please skip down to the next section--

Ever since the beginning of time there have been powers within powersets that either don't synergize with their powerset or are just plain never used for whatever reason.

A little after the beginning of time (around breakfast), A man created a rule. That rule was the "Cottage Rule". This rule pretty much sums up the reason why these forgotten, broken, or down right useless powers never get checked out. To put it plainly, it's purpose is to keep unwanted powers available.

But time moves on, new powersets come out, new technology (or black magic) allows us to push the system beyond it's limits. This makes the original or older powersets seem dated. While they hold their own and are far from weak, They do need to be brought up to standards.

Not all powersets need a central ability like Duel-Pistol's Ammunition switch or Duel-Blade's combo system. But nobody wants powersets with powers that are no longer useful or used. We would like all powersets to be productive, right?

    ---

So, this thread is here for people to post their ideas on certain powersets. Specifically powers within powersets that may need an examination.

Example: I dislike Repel. It is counter productive to the Kinetics powerset. <insert more text here explaining why>.

Then I would suggest something either to make Repel more productive when paired with other Kinetic abilities, or give a broad suggestion as to what should replace Repel.

    --When posting (da rules)--

    1. This is not a debate thread. This thread is being made so it's easier for us, the community to see what the braod majority of us see when we look at specific powers. This is also to help the Devs. If they feel power X needs to be reworked, they can come here to see what people's opinions are of power X. You can make a counter arguement against someone but leave it at that pretty much. Only so much can be said about a single power, right?

    2. When posting why you dislike power X, please don't just say because 'it's stupid' or because 'it killed my father' (Sonic Cage... curse you). Try to give a solid reason why, and what you would do to change it.

    3. Please keep in mind the magnetude of the power and flavor of the powerset, Sonic Cage should not be replaced with a massive AoE Rez that makes everyone's computer blue screen.

    4. Not required but please put the power your concerned with at the top of your post like a title. This makes it 100% easier to find specific posts about specific powers. This also makes it easy to tally which powers are getting talked about the most.

    5. If your post is somewhat long. Provide a quick summary at the bottom for those of us who didn't go to the "school for people who want to learn how to read good and want to learn to do other things good too"

    --Example.

    Sonic Cage, Sonic Resonance.

Sonic Cage's phase isn't a terrible ability. The problem is it's duration. Considering the tempo of the game and how quickly teams melt spawns as well as solo, 30 seconds is terribly long and 60 second recharge prevents this power from being used every spawn or every other spawn.

I feel that Sonic Cage should have it's duration reduced to 10 seconds and it's recharge reduced to 20 seconds. This makes the ability more useful in a group. To be able to remove a Boss from a fight for 10 seconds is just enough time to destroy his spawn then for him to break out of Phase. This also allows the Sonic to more easily solo. Being able to completely remove 1 target for 10 seconds is great damage mitigation for the struggling solo Sonic Resonance user.

Summary: Reduce duration to 10 seconds. Reduce Recharge to 15 seconds.

    -- End Example.

Please keep it clean. Even if the devs decide to NEVER EVER look at this thread, then it's simply for fun. And we can dream right?

Summary: Thread for talking about specific powers. Please read rules.
