It has 2 - Telekinesic Thrust is also a melee power. -
The way I see it is that being a) from a controller background and b) the "holds" being 80% effective of a controller's holds (afaik), dominators tend to need more powers to make up for this - we need to be able to sleep, disorient, hold, immobilize on the fly and be ready, so having more powers to play with, helps (also I think Villain missions tend to be a bit more fast-paced)
I won't go over the advantages and disadvantages because most have already been noted above in previous posts. You just need to make sure you know what power to use and more importantly, when.
Propel is not needed at all since most of your secondary powers are offensive - besides, the animation time is not worth the risk as a dominator.
Gravity/Psi isn't as bad as people make it sound! Sure it can be more frustrating than other sets, but it is a set to be proud of, seeing as how other players see it as "gimped".
Also, just for the record, I don't have Hasten or Stamina, and have never taken them (and probably never will)

It's true, if you find you're teaming with someone who is fairly new to controlling/dominating, all you can really do is take matters into your own hands and make sure your powers don't conflict with theirs.
I have teamed with different types of Dominator/Controllers with my Dominators/Controllers and didn't have any problems most of the time - in fact I think we managed the mobs quiet well together.
It all boils down to the players ultimately and how they use the powers they have. -

I have 2 ACCs in it and it is very accurate.
Although, I have recently been using it on a few spawns of 10 mobs and missing every single one - maybe it's just bad luck... -
Or just make a /Force Field Mastermind

I've slotted my Jack with 3 dmg and 2 acc at the mo, might throw an end red or a enhance slow in there too.
Power Boost does not affect pets, much like Domination. -
Same for Block of Ice really - any hold in fact!
2 ACC 2 HOLD 2 RECHARGE ist he way to go -
I'm mainly a team player, so I would say, be aware of everything that is going on around you as you are the one controlling the battle field
And I think you mean Plant/thorns? :P -

Firstly, Hi Anduril
Long time no see
I'd lose deceive if your going to be doing your uber combo.
I only tend to use Deceive as an extra hold or when I see a sapper :P
But remember, Flash also has a -20% Accuracy penalty so be sure to slot for 3 ACC.(3 ACC only because you want to make sure everything get's hit)
I wouldn't bother slotting for duration - they'll probably be dead before they know it.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, and I can't be bothered reading the whole thread, but keep an eyeout for other players, especially other controllers who sometimes tend to use powers without taking into consideration the effects of the powers of other players.
(Note: This isn't always the case, just something to watch out for ie. if he uses Ice Slick, don't use Stone Cages on the same group of mobs! - Unless of course your team is a bit blaster heavy, and thus will be loads of knockback) -

Now, maybe I'm just being paranoid, but Dimensional Shift was taken out of CoV too I imagine? Cos when I was fighting some folk with my glowy ball, I swear some of the mobs became untouchable. Not just in a stalker way, cos they locked down and not moving at all.. So it makes me worry >_>

This power requires you to be relatively in melee range, about 10ft from the mob.
It is not a toggle.
You cannot slot it with Accuracy enhancements (sux)
Has a slight debuff of health and end regen.
It is, as you've probably guessed, best used on groups of mobs (works well when teaming in big groups)
Has a base recharge of 120 seconds - 3 slotted for recharges gives just under 62 seconds, and with 3 slotted hasten 45.29 seconds (assuming they're all SOs!)
It is a regen, and therefore will not fill your bar straight away. The more mobs you hit, the faster + more endurance you will regenerate.
Personally, I have slotted it 3 recharge and 3 endurance recovery. I have never taken stamina, and never will on this character. (this power is sufficient for me). However this power get's mixed reviews anyway.
Best tactics, mass hold, drain psyche, and spam psychic shockwave when you get it. -
I've just got my 2nd dominator to lvl 9.
Look up Forest Fire sometime -
Obviously you won't be able to outdo a corruptors damage, but being a support AT, you *shine* in groups, especially in later levels.
But you are saying your experience of groups in WoW was not much fun to play. The support you are giving to your team is incomparable, and plant dominators have the best set of mass AoE holds to boot IMO
Also you gotta remember you are a low level at the moment, once you start slotting for damage, I'm convinced your opinion will change. -

There is nothing more frustrating to me, than playing an AT just because it can do more damage, or has better defense.
If it's your kinda thing, it'll be much more fun! -
There is no point IMO for slotting Psychic Shockwave for disorient duration as the Disorientation after effect is really really minor. (I'm lucky to get 1 person disoriented, but I normally hold them first anyway)
Are you a team player? By the looks of it you are beause you have no major damage output from your secondary.
I'd get some slots free'd up for 6 slotting it for 2 recharge and 4 damage, or 1 recharge 1 accuracy 4 damage if you want to be a REAL killing machine.
Afterall it is said to be the best PBAoE after Blaster/Corruptor Nukes
I have never taken stamina on this character, and never will unless I get reduced to tears because of my end usage at later levels, but saying that, I have a Mind controller, and she needs all then end she can get.
If it helps, the way I looked at my Grav/Psi build , was that my Primary has no damage in it (maybe 1 or 2 slots), and my secondary is kitted out with damage enhancements. -
Since most of the posts in this section of the forum are about builds, I thought I'd start a topic about dominators' inherent ability.
So...what do you personally do when you hit Domination?
Do you turn into a psycho blaster and go on a mad killing spree?
Perhaps hold/aoe hold everything in sight?
or maybe staring at the blue aura + twinkles around your head is more for you?
