  3. The arcane teleporter doesn't link to the new Echo: Galaxy City. Instead it attempts to send you into old Galaxy City (based on the old GC splash screen) and then dumps you out in Atlas Park instead. Also when you click on the teleporter it shows "Galaxy City" not "Echo: Galaxy City."

The tech teleporter sends you to Echo: Galaxy City, which is how I understand its supposed to work.

Gotta agree with this. It should read NCC-1701.

    Chrononauts is an awesome game

As I mentioned earlier, I am reading DC Adventures (which is a bit frustrating... I feel that there is a decent game in there, but the book is just poorly written) and also flipping through my old Marvel rpg again. Given that the White Wolf Storyteller system is one of my favourite systems, I am curious about Aberrant. Given that the game is no longer in print, is it legal to download a PDF of it? I would happily buy it if it were available, but since it is not being sold anymore, I am wondering about the legality of obtaining it online.

    Thoughts?
Its legal if you pay for it. http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/produc...ucts_id=3&it=1

EDIT: Looks like Smersh beat me to it.
  16. In the wake of the recent earthquake in Christchurch, NZ, the folks at DriveThruRPG are offering a special gaming bundle whose proceeds will go to help the victims. Similar bundles in the past have raised sizable donations to help disaster relief in Haiti and Pakistan.

  17. Currently running: Spirit of the Century, a pulp era game using Evil Hat's FATE system (they also make the Dresden Files RPG).

Currently playing: Fading Suns, beginning next week. A friend once described the game as "Vampire: The Dark Ages in the future - with no vampires."

Owned: (looks over at two full bookshelves) Um, lets just mention the ones I've played most often shall we?

No, no, its Bricks to Independence Port to Kings Row.

Some believe that this game here, began out there. With tribes of developers who may have been the forefathers of the Islandians, or the Ultimans, or the Evercrackians. That they may have been the architects of the great RPGs, or the lost MUDs of the Internet. Some believe that there may yet be brother game designers who even now fight to survive, somewhere amongst the development community.

Does recognizing the original sources for all of these make me a hopeless geek?
  20. So long Ocho, thanks for all your work keeping this place sane. Best of luck to you.

  21. I've run into this issue as well. Only new characters are getting the Spirit and Cheer temp powers.

Also sometimes even with the new characters there is no "Temp Power Received/Badge Received" dialog.
  22. Castle,

Sorry to see you go, this game has benefited greatly from your time here. Your willingness to explain games inner workings or your reasons for certain design choices was one of the most refreshing things in these forums. Good luck and godspeed, you'll be missed.

This suggests that the world has to be quite a bit bigger for those cities to all be in the same area as the original city.
Not really. A small increase in diameter (say 5%) would add a lot of surface area. There's no need for DC Earth to 4x as large.

This indeed where the DC Earth vs. Marvel Earth size difference is officially stated. As I recall though, the DC earth has a slightly larger diameter - which gives it the extra surface needed to hold all of those fictional nations and cities. Nothing even remotely suggested it was 4x as large as Marvel Earth.
