"Well .....this must be the place!"
The young man walk towards the castle, dressed me baggy robes fading crimson to black. On his back two swords of different lengths were strapped with leather and cloth. He looked out of place compared the the advance city skyline of Cap Au Diable. He was taking a great risk coming here, although this man wore the garb of an assassin, he had little experience and knowledge of must supernatural being beyond the norm, thing she learnt from legends, TV and Hollywood. However confident in his abilities, he made his way to the door. Who knew what would happen. Most people do not except help so readily in these parts of the world, whether or not they were paying people for their services or not, especially when the source was simple hear-say from Pocket D. The man had to try though. If anyone could help him and get him paid, it was probably these people. Who knew more about evil that the monster that represent them so frequently in legends and stories.
He pondered whether or not he should have set up more contingency plans, escape routes, traps or even tried sneak in. 'No, that would be rude, and from what you heard it is an open invitation anyway to show any interest in or claim any bounties going,' he thought to himself. With that he knock on the door and waited -
Also slightly related cuz it's epic ats, give Kheldians those PB belts
-
Forgive me if some of these have been said over the last 6 months as I have been away.
COV
Wolf/Bane/Crab
-Options for helmetless cossie's with limited hair styles for clipping's sake of course
- Old school Arachnos Uniforms as seen in the Mender's villain SF
- Those wierd rugby type helmets low lvl spiders wear
- Longfang and minion lvl backpacks for crab spiders
- increase damage of bane mace cone/aoe attacks slightly to make them useful i.e from 0.69 to 0.75? (Red tomax numbers)
Add Arachnos contact in RWZ to see from there perceptive (Unlockable?)
Add Blue Steel as a NPC enemy.
COH
Task Forces
-Update old task forces with cutscenes, maps, mission types etc instead of kill all, hunt, kill all, hunt. I understand this would have to happen one at a time if we are lukcy and that a positron update is underway.
Perhaps create a Longbow/Hero Corps/City Offical TF for the mission computer
Kheldians
-Slighty update there arcs, adding missions/contacts where they can interact or even join their PPD if only as a honorary member. Including a cimeoran contact would be nice aswell seeing as the nictus are involved!
-Add a Longbow contact to see from there perceptive (Unlockable?)
-Add Blue Steel as NPC Ally
Thats what I got so far in my head, have more, but will need to play the game to remember more -
I've been think of making a come back to RP, and won't fully be able to after a bit of a reckon of my main, but if it helps to maybe have something alittle different.
Twilight Shinobi lvl 45 stalker
- Well not influential in your tradition (or heroic) sense, Twilight is a semi-reformed or "noble" villain who holds a bit of weight with various governments for various reasons but mainly because of his moral standings has done multiple "dirty" or black opt missions and other "favors" for the US government as well as Arachnos, Vanguard and even Longbow and the Rikti. While he probably would be able to publicly force a politician to pardon someone etc, it would usually be a case of one or more phone calls to the right people. Recently has become over fascinated with origins of power and magic in general for some reason and can often be seen in either Ouroboros or the midnighter club. -

Makes me wonder how Arachnos keeps the Rogue Isles from getting extinct. If all villains there are free to kill whomever they wished. The rogue Isles would be desolated by now.
He must have some sort of law the majority sticks to.
[/ QUOTE ]
There not, it says in teh CoV guide that while he does only some thing to slip especially for the destine ones, there are alot of things he doesn't. That's why you have abriters and alot of the time you end up in a mission where you have to explain yourself to one or do one a favor (like the patron arcs) or correcting the other villain groups on behalf of Arachnos. Not even his patrons are above his law of the law of the Abriters. -

the comic give the impression that even after the rikti war, heroes are not as well received outside of paragon. Apex's sister calls them freak or whack-jobs in tights, when she was in Miami. It could be safe to assume the reason so many heroes flock towards paragon is because they enjoy better legal services then other countries/states.
Then again that's not to say that certain heroes would have world wide fame, and special privilages. Look at supes, bats and the flash in the DC(UA) world. Bats is loved for the most part in Gotham but considered (or was.. not really up on DC of late) a crazed vigilante in other cities, while flash is seen as a hero and beacon of light in central city only, Supes enjoys world wide fame and co-operation. I imagine that the FP would be pretty much welcome anywhere, while other less famous heroes would struggle in countries outside of there homeland, or outside paragon. Just showing up in canada, or even new york, you would probably have to apply for some kinda temporary license for that city or be given jurisdiction by highers up? -
Based on the NPC, Elec Blaster with the Mu powers, some of the armor and that O2 style heal they have.
-
I said it would be nice/cool. I was asking if anyone thinks we will get the story arcs.
[ QUOTE ]
it wouldn't be strictly cannon for the player to choose as each patron has control of a certain group in Arachnos. Black Scorpion gets the tarantulas, Scirroco get the Mu, Mako gets the Crab/Bane spiders and Ghost widow gets (unsurprisingly) the widows
[/ QUOTE ]
Recluse controls the bane spiders. And as someone said they each have foot soilders from each, I imagine the higher ups (Generals and such) of each group report directly to the patrons tho. -
Will VEATs be getting patron arcs, but not powers, because I think it would be a shame if they didn't. Makes sense that as they rise the ranks of arachnos they would get "chosen" by a patron to join there faction.
TBH, it would also make sense that if you were taken under their wing you got some of there powers, as you are a "special" arachnos soilder, not the average NPC -
Whats the Spines tier 9 again? Probably that.
-
Could you imagine the uproar in pvp if you had that animation shouting "Pwn j00 n00b!!!"

The are no brand new powersets. there are existing powersets, previously only available to NPCs, that have now been adapted for use by PCs.
[/ QUOTE ]
Now that's not entirely true, we an "Old" NPC powerset, filled out with new powers. Omega man., some of the dart animations , and the rifle melee attacks in the video alone are new animations and powers. And to be honest the secondaries are completely new, as even the NPCs do't have "teamwork" or "gadgets and training". They have your standard "Villain resistance" and "Mind link" powers.
Even kheldians are rad (Glinting eyes, that one where you use a fallen teammate as a mini nuke) Energy/dark blasts, energy/invul/dark armor, energy melee etc reused with some new graphics, plus a few "newish" filler powers (Unless i'm mistaken even photon seekers are not that unique anymore as traps have them)
I think over all one of the main problems is people treating this as a "Big" issue, when it's just a filler (And if your an anime fan you'll no while fillers help flesh things out, they aren't truely esential to the main story progress) Just because it seems big by Cryptics older budget for issues, imagine what a "major" issue like 13 will be like!
For a filler issue, I don't think they did to bad of a job with these VEATs. Wait till the big ones, with all this "origin of powers stuff" you may get your exiciting epics in the form of Incarantes! (If not you could always roll a shield toon, that would be completely new for you) -
[ QUOTE ]
So you mean the spiders will have a secret man-boob power?
[/ QUOTE ]
Whoa there GG, your crossing a line here. Are you implying that Jessica Alba has man-boobs, or that arachnos will control men using boobs?
I agree with praf aswell, if you bored with Psi powers, play a Crab or Bane spider -
[ QUOTE ]
Kheldians at least have really unique powers.
[/ QUOTE ]
Umm what now? oh and here I thought they were just mostly copies of the dark and energy melee, ranged and armor sets with maybe some rad thrown in?
[ QUOTE ]
Handsup if your power set has back mounted artillery and an actual nuceur bomb?
<<looks round>>
Thought so.
[/ QUOTE ]
this.
Also it's the combination of the powers that will probably be fun. Crabs look like Blaster/Brutes, Banes MM/Scrapper
Fortuntas Dom/ Defenders and Night Widows Stalker/Psi blaster!
[ QUOTE ]
Well maybe watch it again then since ALL the fortunata and nightwidow attacks shown were powers already in game.
[/ QUOTE ]
SO play a crab spider, no AT has most of there attacks! (Or costumes that react to there powers.. NO AT has that!) -
Mysterious Hero Slayer Returns???
Last night, Infernal, the demon master of the Vindicators, was on a very important mission in the Rogue Isles, preventing the Circle of Thorns from once again was raise unknown demons from the netherworld, came back to paragon defeated.
While he had the support of his fellow Vindicator Ms. Liberty's Longbow agents, he was unprepared for the arrival of the Mysterious Hero Slayer, and his Mu enforcers. For those of you unfamilar with him, he was an assassin that defeated many of the Vindicators ranks last year, seeming to
appear from no where to interrupt their covert missions against the Arachnos threat. He previously had defeated many of Paragons finest, including Ms. Liberty herself. If it was not for Infernals brave last stand against him and his supporters, many believed that it would have been a blood bath for the longbow officers, who Infernal admitted himself were untrained and under experience for such an fearsome opponent.
Infernal was emergency teleported from the scene in the nick of time. He has fully recovered, and as a testement to his valor and bravery, has already returned to active duty. -
Aren't there a few newspaper missions where you have to save certain people because of how they were depicted in comic/novels/games/movies?
Originally I thought this was a converstaion about how the comics are now cannonically. Which also means we can take about enhancements openly yay!! Which also means that at some point if we were around we lost our powers? -
[ QUOTE ]
Right, im guessing then i wouldn't be able to add the "Shadow Blade" or "The Shinning Blade" (which together formed "The Blade of Destiny") since they were made pure my me to going along with my character Drade, as he is the one who uses them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not at all. Player made mystical weapons are more than welcome!! Remember you can add mystical flintlocks, axes, shields etc not just swords. -
(( Aaa yes I was going to include masamune, but wanted to use a villainous sword instead of swords of just heroes. Actually Twilight claimed to have used one when Dragonfly went rouge within the Militia, but rejected it after it wouldn't harm her. Adding to the legend of Masamune blades, some are believed to heal wounds created by the muramasa blades, or in general. Would you like me to include just that blade, or all masamune, leaving Juuchi Fuyu and Yawaraka-Te as serperate entries?))
-
I was wondering if anyone mind if I made a brief list of mystical swords, they're fictional powers, who has one ((such as Ms. Liberty possesses Excalibur)) with of course people able to add their own made up ones, or their name next to claiming they MAY ((with of course with the exception of the cannon all of us have to do if they are historical)) possess that specific one. Also we can discuss, describe or exchange ideas of what does what etc. If it takes off I'll add it to the wiki if no one minds.
I quick suggestion, if you are adding something to a historical blade other than "pure" legend, a variation, or your own interpretation please do so in OOC brackets, especially if more than one of the blade was made, (Example muramasa and masamune made several, you could say that yours has a unique power the weaponsmith forged into that particular one.)
To start of..
Excalibur
Powers: Sword is unbreakable, able to temporarily blind opponents and wounds do not affect or cause the user to bleed whilst the scabbard is worn.
Worn by: King Arthur, Hero 1, Ms. Liberty
Demon Muramasa Blades
Powers: Able to supposedly cut throught anything, even the very air itself, it causes the user to become murderous, bloodlusting berserker. Blades are supposedly demonic (May contain the spirit of an oni, transform it's wielder into one, or simple unleash his/her demonic self), enhancing their abilites. ((Semi-sentient)), the blade cannot be sheathed until it has tasted blood, or it would cause the user to commit suicide, unless tamed by it's master. Worn by: Twilight Shinobi
Crocea Mors
Powers: Able to kill anyone it struck, called the Yellow death, Nennius wounded by it, died 15 days later ((possible one could say it was poisonous or curses the person struck by it, I assume that means even if simply cut you would die within 15 days?))
Worn by: Juilus Caesar, Prince Nennius of England.
Durendal
Powers: indestructible, possesses in it's hilt one tooth of Saint Peter, blood of Saint Basil, hair of Saint Denis, and a piece of the raiment of the Blessed Virgin Mary. ((one could assume this blade would be divinely bless and therefore devastating to demonic and undead beings))
Worn by:Roland
Fragarach
Powers: Unable to be blocked by armor ((I would assume other mystical swords, or even unmystical ones could.)), and grants the user the ablitiy to control the wind.
Worn by: Manannan mac Lir and Lugh Lamfada
Shamshir-e Zomorrodnegar
Powers: Only weapon able to kill the demon Fulad-zereh, wearing it was a charm against magic. A wound inflicted by this sword could only be treated by a special potion made from a number of ingredients ((Can stop regenerative powers?)), including Fulad-zereh's brains.
Worn by: King Soloman
I hope I included a health mix to start us off, feel free to add! -
Agincourt, Nerva
The Hatesman had just flown off, Rip Fang, followed shortly. Augustus stood silently in the backround. Alot of things were said, but othing shocked the robot more than the apparent lack of caring from Hatesman towards his teammate Hector. It was not that the android cared for Hector, he was incapable of doing so, it was the fact that such an act came into conflict with one of his objectives. Ensure the safety and survival of the Terra Liberation Front. Well Oswald plan was well thought, he miscalculated the Battle Unit Omegas next move, both removing the machines trust in all organics, possibly including Oswalds, and at the same time setting the Warbot against his teammates. Something else was brought to his attention aswell. TRACOR was temporary Architect of the TLF, a rank given to the mastermind behind the groups scheme, a sort of leader. When the Hatesman returned to assist his brothers of chaos at long last, TRACOR was suppose to give up the title and it's powers, but he found himself.. not wanting to. Althought he had no intentions of usurping Oswalds command, the very idea that he was the leader cause a malfuction.
"Primary Objective: Obey the benefactor... benefactor is the Architect.. this unit is the architect." The android twitched violently. "This unit must obey...self?"
TRACORs eyes glowed a bright red, as they did when his creators were uploading information to him. "New Objective return to base for memory wipe. Cancel objective search for Battle Unit Omega." TRACOR temporarily shut down for a moment, then immediately restarted.
"This unit is to obey benefactor, this unit is benefactor, this unit will obey self. Ignore objective return to base. Continue with locating Battle Unit Omega." The now partly self-aware machine lept into the air, leaving his teammate behind.
"Battle unit omega, this is TRACOR. This unit wishes to offer services in objective: erradicate organic meta-human life...." -
The point is I think that if you use your version of time travel to kill some/change the past, we now can say "Haha! You can't kill me in the past! The menders will fix it :P"
(Jack Sparrow time) The thing in which we were afraid of god-moding our death is now the thing that god-mods it so we cannot die throught the method in which set god-moding fears occur...savvy? -
Well I'm pretty sure our conversation has clarifed a few things.
1) It is possible to change the past, however before the changes can affect our timeline, the menders (possibly exempt fromthe timeline as we disscussed inorder to exact change) would simply go back and try to rewrite history for the better. The only things that would have change is the things you should have done (Flashback story arcs you haven't done yet) and the character himself. I even imagine that the menders make it so even tho you are present in the historical event, the glory went to the appropriate people to make sure history is restored or changed for the better.
2) God-Modding using time traveling is impossible, as the menders would simply rewrite hisory in order to correct the mistakes a time traveling idiot would commit. If RP-tool went back and kill Zortel as a baby, it's very likely the menders would send someone to save her before she was affect, or if Zortel knew the secret she could just say "HAHAHAH oh my god! Yeah right! Liek teh menders would let you use the pillar of ice anf fire for that!"
3) Some fun will and can come outta this. I personally look foreward to little plots that will start with RPSGs using flashback and the TFs (as they are rather short) for a alot of things. The Militia has already disscussed using the base Pillar as a sort of VR training sim, instead of actually time traveling. Plus think of the Pocket D convos! "What's wrong Twilight?" "I think I may have help the council take over from the 5th column...."
So nothing to worry about here folks move along.. move along
