Government respected Heroes
I'd need to know more about what you have planned, I guess, but these ones may be useful, depending on what you want.
War Crow
-level 50 Scrapper
Was a very well respected hero, and remains reasonably well know. He's also now running an international courier business, so he counts somewhat in the business community. Well known as an authority on magic too.
Velvet Vengeance/Anastasia Kade
- level 11 Scrapper
Despite being an ex-Playboy model and a member of The Pits, Anastasia does some pretty heavy work on the Fund Raiser circuit and is reasonably well known to a fair few city officials, charities, and corporate junket goers. Her hero identity is actually far less well known than her normal one.
Nitoichi
- level 47 Scrapper
Tends to be fairly quiet and not so well known except in two areas. She's pretty famous among the geeky hero fans, especially the Galaxy City ones, due to her job at the Wizard's Well. The signing day she did there pushed her into the notice of various persons she doesn't entirely know exist yet. And Vanguard think she's awesome because she puts in masses of time there running 'errands' for Borea.
Jason Caine
- level 37 Scrapper
Fairly influential in various sections of the academic community.
So, depends what kind of influence you want.
Disclaimer: The above may be humerous, or at least may be an attempt at humour. Try reading it that way.
Posts are OOC unless noted to be IC, or in an IC thread.
Again, if this is just a general list, its cool. If its for an event, Id like to know more =P
Chief Centurion Z1 , "The Chief".
- lvl 50 Tanker
- lvl 21 Warshade (ChiefCenturion Omega)
- lvl 20 Peacebringer (ChiefCenturion Alpha)
Arrived on Earth at the end of the 1st Rikti war, instantly set about helping to rebuild and protect. Developed a love and respect for Earth and its people. Is (IC and background for this lot...) well known within Longbow and heavily respected and decorated within Vaguard, as he spends most of his 'sapre time' busting Rikti heads. Went toe-to-toe with Hro'Dotz, the same event which awakened the dormant Kheldians which had hitched a lift, and has helped repulse Invasion wave after Invasion wave.
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

The circles I'm looking to influence are government laws, rules and regulations.
Specifically, speed along a full pardon.
So the Chief would be good, War Crow and Jason maybe, but as I'm looking for "influencial heroes", Velvet falls out here, as does Ni.

Cassandra Zero.
L50 tanker
While not publicly famous, is the sort of person who's dossier is passed around when people need things doing "on the quiet" and so is quite well known in the Halls of power in Paragon and England.
The Amber Banshee
Level 44 Blaster
Amber is reasonably well known within City Hall due to the work she's done with the King's Row community and the Militia sponsored drop in centre. I don't know if that counts as influential enough. If you're talking about changing national laws or being able to bend the ear of a senator, unlikely. But she could probably move some things on a local level.
OOC, I'm fairly busy at the moment in RL so I may or may not be able to participate, depending on who, what, when and where.

Doubt any of them are, frankly. You want people like Zortel or Shadowe.

While Shadowe and Zortel would indeed be great, I'd like to spread the opportunity around. Plus, there's nothing wrong with having a well known and respected hero vouch for you.

I am still trying to breach the RP community here but my main may be just about right
Stryke
a.k.a Scott Tyrell
Once a fighter pilot for a test facility out on the edges of paragon, Scott suffered a malfunction over the rogue isles while on a test flight for a prototype aircraft which utilised cerebral interface controls.
While he escaped the crash unharmed he was later captured by Arachnos, who handed him over to Aeon Tech along with the remains of the equipment he had on him, what the deal was between Aeon and Arachnos is unknown, but over the years Scott was subjected to multiple brutal experiments that essentially changed his body into a living battery of energy...(for what purposes he still seeks the answers to)
Many years later a bedraggled figure emerged in paragon at an an old test flight base claiming to be scott "stryke" tyrell, and after the powers that be confirmed his identity they realised he was to be more use to them with these wonderous new "powers" he had gained, so while now on a very short leash as it were....he is free to find out the reasons of his incarceration and eventual mutilation at the hands of Aeon and his cronies.
(ok a little long but i had to establish his background to ascertain his credentials for those who dont know of him)
if this is of any use to you please let me know, he may be able to unlock certain doors but as there are eyes on him at all times it cannot be for uses which may be "contrary to the wishes of the government"
Art of War Co-Leader - Union *Global@Warscythe*
"The box said Windows Vista or better - so I installed Linux"
The main man himself fits the description perfectly, but is going through some stuff at the moment (read - upcoming plot) but is the perfect person to ask and get a reaction from (and a reaction will be got).
Infinitron
Level 50 Assault Rifle / Energy Manipulation Blaster
Joseph Infinus, aka. Infinitron, troubled youth turned superhero. A mutant with technopathy, created a business once he was a hero of the city, creating hero enhancements.
Eventually this company took on military contracts, and so Infinus has friends in high places.
Very much a Tony Stark'esque character. PM me if interested in using him/contacting him/need more info.

[/ QUOTE ]Tyger holds some weight with Vanguard, being as he worked for them during the first invasion as well as re-enlisting for the latest attacks. He's also been down the rogue route himself and pulled a couple of strings to help someone who at the time was considered a criminal, mainly for the aforementioned reason. Ty was a bad boy in his youth but has allies in many places.
Tyger (50), Mutation-Controller Mind/FF - oldest Mind/FF on Union
Arctic Princess (level 50 Scrapper)
She works for the US government as an advisor on metahuman affairs with especial regards to 'legal and illegal aliens'.
She is (as a number of other heroes probably are too ) a friend of Christine Lansdale (the IG contact who is also a military advisor and analyst) and has worked for various hero organisations.
She has strong links with the Russian Embassy.
Thanks for the replies
I'll try to contact the apropriate people soon™
Also, expanding the possibilities to:
- Well liked by the public
- Well liked by the media
eidt: in short, names that impress
"Oooh, Mister X signed this idea, it must be good"
Or at least "Oooh, Mister X signed this idea, I'll give it some consideration instead of instant dismissal"

While I'm happy to add Doctor Dick to this list (that's Richard Huntington, aka Shadowe, aka 'that smarmy English guy'), I will say that he has very little clout outside some fairly specialised areas, which are:
Military R&D
Scientific research
Engineering businesses
While he is very rich and well known, and is on first-name terms with a number of prominent political and military personages, he would not use that influence unless the circumstances were extraordinarily dire, and it would result in him effectively putting his neck on the line. He has not forgotten, and never will, that he is not an American and does not have a vested interest in American society, other than as to how it affects him as a foreigner living there.
The wisdom of Shadowe: Ghostraptor: The Shadowe is wise ...; FFM: Shadowe is no longer wise. ; Techbot_Alpha: Also, what Shadowe said. It seems he is still somewhat wise ; Bull Throttle: Shadowe was unwise in this instance...; Rock_Powerfist: in this instance Shadowe is wise.; Techbot_Alpha: Shadowe is very wise *nods*; Zortel: *Quotable line about Shadowe being wise goes here.*
Emily One is very well liked by the military and its contractors and fairly unknown outside of that circle.
Bodyshop is well loved by the rich and vain for being able to do exactly what her name implies. No surgery needed to look beautiful.
Else wise the rest are just..well I wouldn't say average, but they're hardly movers and shakers of the world.
I've been think of making a come back to RP, and won't fully be able to after a bit of a reckon of my main, but if it helps to maybe have something alittle different.
Twilight Shinobi lvl 45 stalker
- Well not influential in your tradition (or heroic) sense, Twilight is a semi-reformed or "noble" villain who holds a bit of weight with various governments for various reasons but mainly because of his moral standings has done multiple "dirty" or black opt missions and other "favors" for the US government as well as Arachnos, Vanguard and even Longbow and the Rikti. While he probably would be able to publicly force a politician to pardon someone etc, it would usually be a case of one or more phone calls to the right people. Recently has become over fascinated with origins of power and magic in general for some reason and can often be seen in either Ouroboros or the midnighter club.
First batch of PM's finally sent.

Just so I know who to hold out of plot, if we've not got one can we assume there's none coming?
Well, some I might try and contact through other means, also, this shouldn't intervere with anyone's IC scheduals.
I've made my first pick, and other then 2 of them, all have recieved a pm.
I'm keeping my options open, though, as I'm expecting some IC 'no' responses.
Twilight Shinobi and Stryke are on the unlikely list though
(along with the previously mentioned Nichoichi and Velvet Vengeance)

Sleep pattern seems to be back to normal-ish - i shall be sending a reply shortly
Thats actually a relief tbh - looking at some others ..shadowe etc seem more attuned to what your requirements are, besides, ive not worked on stryke that much for many reasons (busy sg nights - RP being tough to breach in this game to name a few)
Plus commitments now meaning I may have less game time so id hate to commit to something I couldnt fully help with.
But I am very interested in reading where your going with this shadow, is this going to be ingame only or will you be posting a thread on the forums?
I like some of the threads running at the moment (nice narratives on most, some real talent we have here ) and would love to see what direction this takes, hope all goes well

Well, the contacting will be handeled off the boards.
The mission will be ingame.
There might be something in a thread or an other, but I dislike Forum RP as that's dominated by those that have the time and ability to post during the day/at work, leaving others tagging behind.
Other then that, I'm not spoiling the plot just yet!

Hi all,
I'm looking for heroes that are well respected by the powers that be (and not so much behind the scenes).
One of my characters is putting together a list of people to ask a favour of.
Criteria:
- Character must be someone who you could name drop and gain immidiate pull at government beurocrats.
- Not too hard to find (some poking around or file searching but not secret government stuff)
- Not inapproachable; Sure, Statesman is great and all, good with the men in whi.. euh, suits. But not very approachable with a smallish, personal thing.
- Player must be willing to run an IC mission and or TF at some point.
So, if you have a character and are interested (you can always say no when you know more, ICly or OOCly), then post up here with:
* name
* AT (or ATs)
* lvl
* brief description why the character would fit the list.
Post here and you will probably contacted.. sometime this week or the next.
I'll use three of my own characters as examples, but they'll probably not go on the mission/TF.
The Grav Mistress
- Grav Mistress, lvl 50 controller
- Grav-Mistress, lvl 43 Peacebringer
- Smaragden Koningin, lvl 32 controller
Well known hero and respected member of MAGI's support team
Tower of Power
- Tower of Power, lvl 48 Tanker
- Tower of Power., lvl 24 Scrapper
Well mannered hero with a good reputation dating back to before the first Rikti War, if primairily in Europe. Sole survivor of a large scale succesful attempt at bringing a Rikti Mothership down over Europe.
Misha Hannigan
- lvl 27 Scrapper
As a member of the Unity Vigil, she has some pull by association. As a reformed juvinile trouble maker, she's friends with a detective that trusts her judgement in case of character and possible reforming miscreants.
