  1. like dread said, take fire armor out of those 3 choices.
  2. Rad blast definitely improves on the damage front later on once you get final slots and proc up neutrino bolt(yes neutrino bolt can dish out some real nice damage with 2-3 damage procs 2 nuc's (sho's) and an achilles heel resist debuff proc)

    I have a 50 rad/rad fender and a 50 rad/cold corr and i like both alot
  3. This is the build I am currently using on my ss/sd brute, it has solid +damage, recharge and recovery

And you could always swap the oblit set in footstomp with a purple set for 4% more recovery if you feel you need it.
There is flexibility in the build to modify to your preference.

P.S. in the kick slot it is suppose to be a force feedback +recharge proc, not like it really matters there...lol
  4. I think i found a final build that will work better, its still got the main idea for the build and some splash from your build.
I added move KB protection and more hp's and swapped a few i/o sets to try and optimize what i was going for.

BTW thx for the input kyr0s.

  5. I would like some input on a new pvp corr i am making.

    It is a dark/cold(due to me liking /cold and the synergy of dark's -to-hit's seems like a solid choice). (I also currently have a 50 ice/cold, 50 son/cold, and 50 rad/cold)

Does anyone have either a build i can use as a template or some feedback on the best power choices for zone pvp and duel's.

I would also like feedback on how to properly slot the heal, part of me says slot it for healing, part of me says go with the damage.

I have made a static build in mid's(in 4 versions with varying patrons and a few i/o set swaps)

This is just a very rough draft of what i am going for, slotting is subject to change.
  6. actually with Elec...static discharge is a cone effect and thunder strike is its PBAoE.
  7. UltimaDR

    Best PVP Combo

As conflict pointed out elec/therm is solid also, i just felt my post was getting too long winded so i didn't add more to it.
  8. Ok i have a fully i/o'ed and purpled mind/elec i like messing around with in zones and such. With the current pvp state, i would like some opinions on what people feel is the best patron for zone pvp activity.
I currently have mace for the poison ray debuff, scorp shield and pff.
I know elusivity is nerfed, but my reason for choosing this patron outside of LoTG slotting for recharge, was that i really am not a fan of being a sitting duck in hibernate, plus pff gives me an option for evasion or to buy me time if i choose not to use the temp phase from WB.
I am open to options of trying Leviathan or Mu in current pvp if i am able to have more survivability.
Currently i have fitness pool, leaping pool w/ acro, speed pool, and leadership(have assault, tactics).
  9. UltimaDR

    Best PVP Combo

For pvp i would say for high damage output go with sonic primary(due to sonic attacks giving -resistance, and everyone currently has a global resistance effect in pvp now). From the sonic primary you will want to take Shriek, Scream, and Shout, and Amplify...you may also want to pick up Screech(ranged stun).(please note sonic does great damage, but does has the drawback of some rooting animations in attacks which will leave you vulnerable in pvp zones, now moreso then before due to dimished returns and movement suppression)

For secondary powersets i would take either /cold, /rad, or /therm for secondarys.(for the debuffing factor)

Btw rad primary can do some amazing damage its just a matter of how you slot the attacks.
I have a rad/therm, and rad/cold and both are capable of some brutal damage via proc use on fast charging attacks(neutrino bolt will be your bread and butter for massively fast damage...slot it with 3-4 damage proc i/o's and 2 nucleolus exposure sho's).

On my rad/cold and rad/therm corrs i use only 3 attacks and aim from the primary(no need for more)
Just take Neutrino Bolt, X-ray Beam, and Cosmic Burst, and Aim.(neutrino bolt is super fast recharging attack and fast activating, i usually lead off with aim-cosmic burst-neutrino bolt when i pvp, due to cosmic burst being a stunning ranged attack)
  10. I ordered a filet mignon from Mc Donalds actually...come to think about it, it may have been a bacon wrapped rat...does Mc Donalds serve Filet Mignon!?!?!?
  11. I would think one thing that would hinder the fire secondary on a blaster with fire sword would be the draw time slowing it down. Probably is close but the redraws would suck from a DPS standpoint.
  12. If you are looking for high damage go with sonic(please note that sonic has locking animations for attacks which can leave you to be a sitting duck in zones).
If you like to sap someones end away and kill them over time and make their toggles drop play electric.(please note that electric tends to mesh better with sets that have a sapping or - recovery power of a type)
  13. I would say both are very effective for current pvp.

Rad having the positive of being able to debuff without worry about missing who you target due the debuffs being toggles. Plus having a nice buff and healing ability helps.

Cold having the advantage of not having to stay in range of the person you hit with the debuff due to most of the debuffs being click powers.

I have both a rad/rad fender and a cold/sonic and cold/psi, both are good for pvp.
Basically both sets are debuff machines, the one sole difference of the 2 sets is that cold does not debuff to-hit like rad does, but cold does have a special effect debuff in benumb that rad does not have either. The slow effects of both sets in current pvp is a complete joke(cold used to slow people to oblivion and back)....just my 2 cents
  14. I'll agree with syn about the son/cold i have one and its real fun to play. Also on the tank, definitely get earth mastery...fossilize is a hold, gives -def and hits like a truck(i have it on my shield/ss tank i pvp with).
  15. The main reason you need perception in general for pvp, is because pretty much everyone is using stealth i/o's and/or conceal pool. You can't kill what you can't see in most cases(unless you pull random luck at throwing off AoE's and clip a person that is stealth'ed)
  16. I currently have 4 damage procs(gladiator's javelin, lady grey, shield breaker, and apoc procs) and 2 nucleus's in my rad's neutrino bolt and procs seems to work amazing in that power due to the speed of recharge and activation time.
  17. i'd say 1st the spine/regen
    2nd the sonic/cold
3rd the MM if the ill doesnt have perma PA, the -recharge will hurt the ill troller more then the MM
4th draw, i'd say both would get too bored and call it,lol
5th Dom, esp if the device blaster is stupid enough to set up a trip mine field and stand on it waiting to get confused
  18. UltimaDR

    PVP Tank Build

Just a lil note, earth mastery on a tank in pvp is great...i have both stone prison and fossilize on my SD/SS pvp tank and it works wonders. Mac gave you very sound advice about revamping the build.
  19. Also you may have forgotten the fact that if you dueled another blaster and would manage to hold him, he can still attack you with his lower tier powers while held. Plus slows in i13+ pvp mean absolutely nothing now.
  20. How about when you are in a real fight with someone(i used to bounce/doorman at a techno club) and you start imagining combat spam, looking to see if you crit the guy.

also when i've been driving and get caught in a traffic jam and start grumblin "Damn Lag!!"

and who can forget the ol' wife aggro, or gf aggro, or wife nerfed me.
  21. I would like some opinions on my rad/rad fenders build, i use him for pve, zone pvp/duels.

I was wondering if it would be a better idea with his current build to change it to conceal pool for phase shift, stealth vs having leadership pool.

    Soft Caps

I would like to know if anyone either knows or has a link to what the defense and resist soft caps are, and what defense range above the soft caps would be suitable for i13+ pvp.
  23. With I13, they pretty much killed perma-doms and stacking holds in pvp period. Holds cannot be stacked anymore, and basically anyone can be held by 1 hold(granted all holds from players only last 8 secs or so max). Defensive toggles do not drop anymore, unless you run out of end.
