Need help choosing new PvP toon
Comon guy's nothing? Could really use some input!
Why are you specifically asking about those builds? Are they toons you already have?
All 3 should be good. But you're right, any or all of them could be nerfed to uselessness at any time, with or without any logic behind the nerf. Usually without.
I dont have any of these as of now... and I chose them because I thought they would work well in the dueling area.. If you guys have any other suggestions feel free to include them, I just like the synergy between the powersets and their viability.
id vote for the sonic/cold corr. so fun. you can pick up hybernoob for a ghetto heal. is a solid 1v1 toon and not too shabby on small teams. i think the no phase thing could make the ice tanker kinda not as good as it used to be. i you want to run one go Ice/SS/Stone. you would have 3 ranged powers 2 hitting as hard as kb blow. and a nice quicksand on top. dont think it would take alot on inf for it to be a solid build.
I'll agree with syn about the son/cold i have one and its real fun to play. Also on the tank, definitely get earth mastery...fossilize is a hold, gives -def and hits like a truck(i have it on my shield/ss tank i pvp with).
DON'T ROLL A STALKER.
It is a death class. U can only AS and run. Can u immagine somethingworst?
As Electric u have little chance more after as... but too low anyway.
He isn't a dps anymore, u simply have to go with one or better 2 stalker more and use sycronized AS.
This is not pvp... in my opinion thi is [censored]
I have a full ios-ed spines-regen stalker... ad it doesn't make me fun anymore.
I'm rolling a scrapper.
So : don't roll a stalker and ANYWAY DON'T ROLL SPINES FOR ANY REASON AT THIS WORD.
If you don't have these toons already roll a dom, they are getting a buff and some think they will be the blaster of villian side.

I would put always put money on the player rather than the build in PVP. A guy who knows his class inside and out is a far more dangerous oppoenent than the build of the week. Pick a class, learn it and play it every day. That's the only way to get better at PVP.

My recent testing of pvp disagrees. Some characters I beat 100% of the time; some characters I beat 0% of the time, and it has entirely to do with their build, not anyone's skill. And I know this because we tested under 'anything goes do whatever you can to win' rules, under 'no insps/accolades' rules, and finally under 'lolfiteclub' stand and buttonmash rules.
No matter what tactics were employed on either side, some characters I always beat, others I never beat. The only place skill played much of a factor was that against the people I couldn't beat, I could usually pull a draw from by evading.
There were no characters I tested against that I won some of the time and lost some of the time against. In every instnace it was always all or nothing. Everyone involved was, like me, a fairly novice pvper and wasn't using a pvp-tuned build. We just decided to get some of our characters out and test out pvp in the arena to see if making pvp builds and getting more involved with it would be fun and worthwhile.
I have to say it doesn't feel very fun and worthwhile when the outcome of a match is so predictable.
The builds tested included 2 night widows, a fortunata, a DM/invuln brute, thugs/dark MM, BS/regen scrapper, and ill/kin controller. From what I've read, however, that widows were probably a waste of time to have tried in the first place

[/ QUOTE ] That is an false statement.. It is neither one nor the other.. It is a combination of both.. If you take two people give them the exact same build i know for a fact someone could take one down but not the other if anything.. Reason is b/c a player is in control and has to choose what to do in any given situtation.. Slightest mistake could be your last type thing.. Example: Hitting a heal too late or choosing an long activation power over a quick shot.. Easily that could turn a battle in your favor or against (depending on who made the mistake).. I've watched countless duels (NOT SAYING YOU HAVENT) and noticed things that the person may have been able to do to last longer or actually turn the war completely in their favor.. So all in all.. It is NOT all about the sets nor is it ALL about the skills.. It takes BOTH to be good.. That also applies in PvE.... You may rebutle and i will listen to your view (if i sift thru all the threads again.. O_O there are soooo many).. Just stated mine is all.. =)

So yeah I was trying to weigh the strengths and weaknesses of each combination, but I am having some trouble deciding overall which path to choose... If you have any other combo suggestions please feel free to add it!
This toon is entirely going to be for PvP, and mostly 1 on 1 duels. Should i go:
Ice/SS or EM Tanker - Not sure about Ice post I14 and whether or not it will do well in the future. Overall nice debuffs/survivability. My problem here is whether or not he will be able to pump out enough damage without being a significant inf. sink!
Sonic/Cold Corruptor - Very nice debuff's but the lack of healing makes me somewhat hesitant. Throw in the -Res of sonic and it seems to be a very nice combo.
And Last But not least
Elec/Regen Stalker - Everyone knows electricity is a beast now... but my primary concern is that it will get the Nerf bat and rendered useless in the next issue. This is of course the eternal question..
So let me know what you guys think. If you could produce a build with your suggestion I would much appreciate it. The target zones for this character is Recluses Victory, but if its not to much trouble i'd like it to do well in Sirens for the once in a while challenge.
Thanks alot guys I would really appreciate some feedback from those who know much more about PvP than I do (which is probably everyone IMAO)
