See, I was thinking that i20 would be released today. This is the first day of the Sister Psyche TF being the WST and i20 supposedly has folks earning shards even while exempted. What more perfect time for i20 to be released?

Quote:I want the 45% end reduction and also the damage resistance for my Inv tank.If the 33% Endurance Reduction solved all your endurance problems, then you're probably fine stopping at Rare.
Sure, if you want Fear, Intangibility, or Sleep Duration, and more than 10% range, go for the Ultra-rare, but it's not really necessary for resistance.
The difference between a rare and ultra-rare for an Invulnerability tanker is about .6% resist Energy/Negative Energy/Fire/Cold/Toxic. It's 1.6% for Stone tanks in Granite, so that might be worth it to you. 1.3% Smashing/Lethal for Dark Tanks with Tough, 1.4% Psi.
For most builds, that extra 1% isn't doing altogether too much. -
Quote:I took Punch mostly to hold a set of Crushing Impacts, which gives nice set bonuses. Even though I really don't need it the added set bonuses made it worth it in my book. I normally don't take Focused Accuracy for my tanks as it's a huge end hog. If you ware worried about accuracy Tactics is better. Although FA is better with the to hit debuff protection.I have just 50'd my new main a Will/SS. I have been going over the forums lookig at old ss/will posts. this one is pretty impressive. I think i may just steal it lol. There are 2 modifications I would want to make for mine. I would drop SS/punch, because i have the 2 vet attacks, and just dont want another low ranking attack. I would switch the enhancers in that to Boxing-Punch. i would also drop Super Jump. I do not think losing the Winter Slow enhancer should F me over. Also, i have 3 fly temps at any one time, and the only time i lose them are for master attempts (and thankfully someone usually has TP on those) In place i would add Focused Accuracy for the tough spots, and Physical Perfection for grins. I see that the buildout offfere4d as an alternative has these, but I am actually not moving anything the way that does. Therefore this should operate exactly the same?
Plus if you are doing the upcoming BAF trial to unlock more Incarnate slots you can't use your vet attacks as they will be disabled for the trial making it necessary for an additional attack.
I normally 6 slot Physical Perfection to max out the end mod and regen potential. -
Where are you getting Civil Order for Ares? He pretty much is war for the sake of war. He's the perfect Patron of Brutes.

Quote:I used it the other night. Ran a TF, but was 1 shard short of getting my rare boost. I had an extra component that I didn't need. I happily broke it down and then built my rare boost.Who in their right mind would even use this feature? I thought I could use it to bump me a few shards so I could cash in a notice and shift but it cost me way more. 4 shards = 1 alpha chunks. I lost 12 shards today.
Not a big deal right?
They should just remove this feature.
I'll just run the LGTF where I get 10-15 shards per run. Lesson 21,000, just because it's there doesn't mean you have to use it!
I do agree that one component=one shard is rather lame. At least give us two. -
Indeed. She is as much a Goddess of abundance (wealth) as beauty. And since She gets to choose from half the dead who died in battle, there is a clear connection to at least some aspects of war. Keep in mind that She was one of the most widely worshiped Goddess by the Nordic people, who were rather conservative. She was by no means the Goddess of sluts.
I also don't think Odin would be opposed to incarnates. Since a great deal of His time is preparing for Ragnarök (one can imagine The Coming Storm), I'm sure He would welcome all the help He can get.
But yeah, I would love to have the Norse Gods represented. -
Well the other super hero game by Cryptic has a nemesis system where you create a nemesis and then randomly you get ambushed by your nemesis' minions. Plus you occasionally get your nemesis specific missions or mission arcs where you go up against them.
Something similar would work here.
My concern is that you would have to rely on other players to be your nemesis. What if they drop their account or just stop playing the game? An NPC will always be there ready to thwart you. Plus it wouldn't have to rely on PvP which I, for one, don't bother with much. -
I would 3-4 slot Combat Jumping over Maneuvers as it gives better defense.
-
If they use the Turnstile mechanic for Hami raids I would probably do a Hami raid. Same for the Mother Ship raid in RWZ. That really could use the Turnstile.
-
Shouldn't the taunt aura also be able to take normal taunt enhancements?
-
So how does Willpower stack up against Recluse?

Quote:Which boost did you use? Spiritual?I recently took a WP/SS tank from 1-50 on the double XP weekend and ran him through nearly every TF that extended weekend. Great learning experience.
I poured a good chunk into his build, but I'm now as satisfied with his build as I am with my Inv/SS. He has insane HPs and Regen (with the Alpha slot, he's 3,200+ HPs and 112 HPs/sec), has s/c defenses and built his Taunt to ensure teammates remain upright.
I hope to get on Virtue tonight to be the Hami taunter, if I can beat Arky to the punch. He is tricksy, though. -
Ok, as someone who has a level 50 mastermind, you will find that they do a lot more damage than you think. I've heard running a mastermind as powerleveling yourself and have to agree. They can do lots of damage. The infamous Ultimus used to solo AVs with his bots MM and that takes being able to dish it out.
But I have a similar problem. I made a fire/dark corrupter to solo. But when running with friends I had a hard time integrating the two experiences. As a solo player I wanted to set things up just so to maximize scourge. But with a team things move too quickly to be fully optimized. So you have to find ways to be more of a team player and support the qualities of the other ATs.
For example a Brute will want lots of aggro. This is good and you can just center all your attacks on them as they will typically have gathered all the enemies up into a nice bunch for your AoE attacks. -
Scourge also make AoE attacks very important, especially powers like Rain of fire that do constant widespread damage over time. Each little bit of power has a chance for Scourge that can kill large groups of enemies quickly.
One of the reasons I picked fire/dark after reading a guide. Use dark to slow and bunch up the bad guys, and then unleash fiery AoE death upon them, capping with Rain of Fire for the Scourge kill.
It really is amazing to watch. -
Rather than being able to customizing APP or PPP I'd rather be able to turn off the obnoxious effect of Hasten.
Not that I don't want to be able to adjust the colors of the epic pools, but the Hasten effect is just to egregious to allow to continue any more. -
No, I was quite clear on the concept that it would only drop once a week no matter how many times you ran it with the same toon.
Way too easy otherwise. -
If you soloed it, who is the other person on your team?
-
Quote:That's what I wanted to know if you could go over the 90% with the incarnate boosts. Still it seems fairly easy to get to 90% on S/L, so it would help with the other areas. I'm still happy I went with Cardiac with my INV/SS tank. There's no such thing as softcap with resistance, you're either hardcapped or you aren't - well, some could argue you could get a buffer against eventual res debuffs, but these debuffs are so few and far between I think it'd be too much of a niche use to be worth building. More to the point, it just makes it easier to cap, you can't go beyond 90% res.
-
How does Cardiac end red/+ dam res fit into the equation, since it bypasses ED to some degree. Does it just make it easier to soft cap or can we go beyond?
-
Quote:Yeah, I have to say that I tanked a STF with my INV/SS tank and was pleasantly surprised at how I did. The only problem I had was when I accidentally hit Unstoppable, but I survived the crash pretty well. I had good emp on me and we had no problems.I gave up trying to convince people that you don't need a stoner and an emp to do STF. Granted its easier I guess, but it is not a prerequisite. I agree with Deathkitty up there, its a team tf, so buffs and debuffs are welcome. Once the red tower is down its all gravy.
If you say you have a toon that can solo STF your a liar, its a team oriented TF.
You definitely don't need a stone tank to run the STF. I'm living proof.
I ran one last night with my healer (emp/dark blast) and had a hell of a time keeping an elec/ tank alive. They kept running around because "the ranged attacks didn't hurt as much as the melee from recluse." I got caught a couple of times in Recluse's cone and faceplanted. It was a mess, but we prevailed.
So not all tankers are created equal. -
Quote:I thought next weeks WST is the Kahn TF. At least that's what it says in Announce. The past week has seen me furiously posting about how the WST is going to knock out any chance for people like me (who have very little time to dedicate to TF's/SF's) to get my upper tier Alpha's.
Now, with the first two WST's announced (for those who haven't seen next week's, go to the I19 announcement/overview pages) I'm going to take back the things I said and admit I was overreacting.
The STF/LRSF aren't tasks that I would have trouble overcoming. In fact, after some banter with my buddies who've done them quite rapidly I may be able to crank out what is essentially a "speed run" tonight.
Since next week's WST is the Imperious Task Force, a TF I can complete in an hour with just myself and three other friends (Dark/Dark Brute, Ill/Kin Troller, AR/Traps Corr, Plant/Emp Troller), I'm no longer worried about taking the first steps toward my sweet, sweet [Cardiac Core Paragon].
So, I'm Nalrok Ath'Zim, and I overreacted.
Thanks, Devs, for the kickass system. -
Quote:Given that the very rare boosts ignore 2/3 of ED while rare ignore 1/2 it seems worth it to me. You could be looking at perma Hasten among other things. My DM/Regen already has a 5 second gap in Dull Pain, and he's only got the uncommon Spiritual boost. With rare and very rare, Dull Pain will be perma easily.I don't think the Very Rares are worth it.
Looking at the numbers for example, it looks to me the biggest leap in power will be going from Uncommon to Rare simply because of the level shift.
In the case of a character I decked out with an Rare Musculature, they'll only gain maybe 4-5% more damage moving up to a Very Rare, if my numbers are right. Unless the Very Rares are sporting a +2 Level Shift (un-freakin' likely) it seems very anticlimactic considering how much more the Very Rares require.
IMO, they're just not worth it unless the Very Rares ignored ED completely or granted an additional level shift or something.
.
I had expected the very rare to give a +2 level shift. But given that there are 10 total slots coming out that seems excessive especially if all of them gave level shifts. -
It's my understanding that when issue 20 goes live we will be able to craft Notices of the Well, which should speed things up.
My 50 tank already had 2 uncommon boosts and the other components ready so all I needed was the Notice to get my rare. Now I have to get another one, which shouldn't take very long.
But yeah, having to wait several weeks per character to get the rare boost seems bad. -
The OP only had on slot in Integration. I always put 3 heals in it as it boosts your regen and if you are /Regen you want to push that as much as possible.
I of course took the Spiritual, Rech/heal incarnate boost which further helps matters. I only have a 5 second gap in Dull Pain essentially making it perma, which further boosts my regen rate. With Dull Pain going I get 70hp/second.
But then, I'm goofy and 6 slotted Fast healing with 2 Miracle (for recovery boost) and 3 Numina (for regen boost) enhancements in it, plus some other +regen proc.
If you are going regen, max out your regen.
