I'll have to chime in too on the wackyness of how things are getting awarded...
Got PPs on the 13th/14th of the last two months.
Got Transfers on Head Start and 1st of Oct & Nov.
Got PRT on the 20th or so of Oct.
Have not yet received PPs or PRT for Nov yet.
Billing is 27th/28th of the month (Use 60-Day time cards).
According to this, I 'should' expect my PPs on my Billing date. I was directed to the link by a GM after bring this topic up after I got a response to a help petition for a different issue (The GM asked if there was anything else he could help me with, so...). Weather or not that's the case, I'll be waiting until the 27th, I guess.

Quote:Bolded for effect. We're testing three improvements to stalkers in i22:
-Assassin's Strike: using Assassin's Strike outside of hide will be an uninterruptible attack with no windup time, dealing Superior damage. This will allow Stalkers to do very competitive dps.
-All Stalker attacks that are not Assassin's Strike will build stacks of a buff called Assassin's Focus. Assassin's Focus increases your chance to critically strike with the out-of-hide Assassin's Strike.
-Stalker Buffed Max HP will be increased by about 400. This should allow them to fully benefit from powers like dull pain, hoarfrost, etc.
-These changes to Stalkers should make them very competitive top-end damage dealers, and help them with their early attack chain since they can use Assassin's Strike mid-combat.
This is one of the most interesting tidbits for Stalkers in a long while. Seriously, Thank you!

And some RMTers are overly idiotic as well.
Noticed on one Character I have on Exalted I started getting spam e-mail from a RMT company. Yes, I said Exalted. A change in my filter fixed it for that character, but still, you would think they'd learn by now...

Quote:Just gonna mention this little tid bit: Yes, a VIP could use their free points on the doggie. If the VIP actually got them in a reasonable manner. But considering how screwy the allotments have been, a VIP may not have the freebie points right now.The dog costs 500 points. Subscribers get a monthly allotment of 400-550 points for free. Therefore the dog at most costs subscribers 100 points for those not willing to save up their free points.
Who cares what it costs Free or Premium players. They can afford the 500 points from the $15 bucks they are saving by not having a subscription.
The only way the dog could get less expensive for subscribers than free is if they paid us to claim it.
And to be honest, I agree that the cost (and subsequent exclusivity use) is to frakking high. I'll wait for the Gunslinger set to come out first before I get this Pet.

Saw the trailer in the Breaking Typecasting thread.
Knew it was being developed.
Dear gawd....
WHY???

I'd have to disagree w/the OP here. While Steelclaw does bring up some good points, let's look at it from the other perspective:
1) What if someone hasn't purchased BR, NR, or the Rocketboard? Unless you travel, blue side at least, to the Shard for a Rocket pack, the earliest you can get a Travel power is Level 5. By then you already have access to the four Travel powers anyway.
2) As it is now with iFitness, deciding on what to take w/some characters is becoming a PITA. Adding another power choice or two is going to make things that much more complicated.
Thank you for the time... -
Quote:Pretty much my thoughts. Would of been cool to of seen this last week, to be honest.I actually don't think this pack was a "bad" idea in and of itself. I just think it's a little too expensive and very poorly timed. What's the point of having a holiday themed item go up for sale the day -after- the holiday in question?
Thank you for the time... -
Now my only real experience w/the Wild Cards IP was the 4-issue mini-series TPs put out by the old Marvel imprint Epic Comics 20 yrs ago. And that took place between Books 5 & 6.
While I think the prospect of seeing a Wild Cards movie and/or string of films is interesting, I think there's too much story material to do the IP any real justice.

Quote:Believe it's been mentioned, but I'd say any non-holiday costume unlocks. As long as we're talking about it, are there any other time vs. convenience options like the cape and aura unlock service you could see being a desirable Market offering?
Thank you for the time... -
In premise, I don't mind the Cape missions too much. The Aura mish hero side though is a PITA (Don't have a Vill high enough to do theirs...). But the fact that the Cape & Aura Unlocks are that bloody cheap and global make them, IMHO, the best Values on the Paragon Market.
When the head start began, they were apart of my first purchases.

As mentioned in the most recent Weekend Superheroics thread, there's a new Thundercats episode airing Friday night titled "Berbils". Noticed MTV has pics and a clip from said ep.
I like the Berbil design. The overall body design is kept as well as the voice style. I like the little movement twist done w/them too.
It's a little scary though seeing Kit & Kat on a Brebil-fruit rush...
Oh and...
The full team shot

Quote:As others have mentioned about CIT, I'll answer your question otherwise.i also play world of warcraft... and in that game one can go to a place called the 'armory', where an on-line page exists for each character (over level 10)... does such a thing exist for CoH?
There was an attempt to create something along the lines of your question. It was called the City Vault. Pretty much almost a year ago it was reported to be shelved. Will we ever see it looked at again or something similar? Who knows. It would be kinda interesting to see an official web character viewer.

Just so we're clear on the list:
10 - Avengers: EMH
9 - Archie (Various) & Josie and the Pussycats
8 - The Tick
7 - Disney's Ducktales
6 - 80's TMNT
5 - JLU
4 - Superfriends
3 - 60's Spider-man
2 - X-Men animated
1 - Batman: TAS
I can agree with most of the shows listed for being on this list. Their order, OTOH, could be different.
No doubt Batman: TAS should be #1. It's an iconic series and it works.
I can see, to a point, for the Archie/Josie listing. But I think a 10th rank would of been more than fair. Almost a similar reason for Ducktales to be on this list as well. Without Ducktales, I'm not sure the overall Disney animated block of that era would of been eventually done (capping with Gargoyles). Ducktales I would of put 9th on the list.
While I agree that Spectacular Spider-man and the 2003 TMNT are better series, I'm not sure you could of had their success with out the original series (or in Spidey's case, the longevity of the IP). Now having JLU (truthfully should of been the combined JL/JLU really) and Superfriends on this list sort of invalidates the above statement. But here again, there is, I think, good reason. Superfriends is iconic in it's own way. Outside of the Spider-man/Spidey & Amazing Friends, Superfriends was really the only lasting Super Hero stuff on the air in the late 70s - early 80s and such.
My tale on this list:
10- Archie (Various) & Josie and the Pussycats
9 - Disney's Ducktales
8 - Avengers: EMH
7 - The Tick
6 - 80's TMNT
5 - JLU
4 - Superfriends
3 - 60's Spider-man
2 - X-Men animated
1 - Batman: TAS

Antigonus,
You realize the quote you took was from Mr. Frank's description of the character as used in Kingdom Come?
Quote:While I'm not sure what could be done in a modernizing of Captain Marvel, I like the approach taken by the writers of the Young Justice animated. Basically a young kid in a adult body. I like that.Frank said he became a fan of the Shazam character when he read Kingdom Come, the 1996 comic series by writer Mark Waid and painter Alex Ross.
"I absolutely love Mark's take on the character, even though we really only see the true Billy Batson for a second or two before he dies," Frank said. "But on every page you can feel him and his history. It's all there in the way he is perceived. I love the fact that there is an unease among the other heroes to be in the presence of that much power.
"There are superheroes," the artist said, "and then there are Billy and Clark [Kent]."

Here is what ANN's CEO had to say about it.
Honestly, I don't know about this. Granted I don't really watch that much streamed anime and I'm not active on any of the legal streaming services.
On the surface, it seems a good thing for both companies, I'm just not reaslly sure what the eventual fallout is going to be.

I know how the OP feels.
Running a similar kind of rig. Best suggestion is to follow Emblery's advise on the GPU cards. In my case, I upgraded to a GeForce GTS 450 (1MB) not quite a year ago. Runs CoH rather well and I figure I'll be able to get a couple more years of life out of the card.

Quote:Well, since Simpsons is going to most likely end on the 24th season, he would have no reason to end Family Guy. They could just make Sunday nights MacFarlane night and be done with it.
Umm...
The Simpsons are gonna be around for Season #25, actually...
Now on topic...
I'll admit, I've never really been a fan of any of MacFarlane's animated projects. Could he do decent for Trek? Maybe. I've seen a couple of his interviews and he seems to be a serious person, when it comes to business. He might be able to pull it off.

I'll add to getting my Oct PP early.
Billing for 28th.
Vet for 24th.
So far I have received my Transfer for the month and I got my PP back on the 12th, I think. Have to wait another 10 days, I figure, for my Reward token. I so want /auctionhouse .

Just have one question:
Is the Halloween Tip mission from last year going to be accessible? I see on the site that the badges earnable from it are there, but no specific mention of it otherwise. I thought that mission wasn't a bad one-shot, per say.
Thank you for the time... -
Wish I could say I was going to attend, but...
- No available funds
- Out on the left coast and not all that accessible to a midwesterner.
I know, I know...
It would be nice to see some Dev/OCR lovin' in the midwest sometime.

Quote:First, Durakken, don't take this the wrong way, but a number of the more modern Magical Girl shows have had characterizations in the direction you're looking for. Heck look at how twisted Madoka Magica gets. Granted that's more a genre Deconstruct than anything else. There seems to be 3 categories that are popping up...
#1. The Magical Girl Genre. Not what I'm looking for, but close
#2. The Adult female bad *** who is a female protagonist... The're adult so disqualifies them.
#3. The young female that acts like an adult. Like Tengen Toppa Gurran Lagann...she's 14, not the main protagonist and acts like an adult or Line Inverse who is the main protagonist and is young, but acts like an adult.
Those are the 3 types that are popping up from the titles i see and know or have looked at.
Aren't there any young female characters that actually act like young female characters but aren't in magical girl roles... think something more along the lines of where the kid gets control of a toy robot that becomes a mecha. He acts like a kid. Are there any stories where that kid is female rather than male and continues to act like a kid and is not a magical girl. I guess that girl would be a tom boy to some standards, but whatever ^.^
A part of the reason I mentioned Nanoha is, while she starts out like a typical Magical Girl, she quickly steps out of the typical role and develops the abilities to basically beat the livin' daylights out of those she wishes to help. And she does it, eventually, because she wants to, not because she's destined to or some garbage.
Now as to your last paragraph...
One title that comes to mind that could fit is Figure 17 (TvTropes again). It's more a relationship show than anything else, but the Manga (which I've read. Haven't seen the Anime.) is solid.
Quote:Nanoha is less "Magical Girl" and more "Mobile Suit Gundam" in a little girl package (or possible even "Gurren Lagann in a little girl package").
Power Pack? Maybe.
I would think it might depend on which volume. If you were thinking of Julie in the first Vol., then yea, possible.
Thank you for the time... -
I'm surprised no one's mentioned Nanoha (TvTropes general series page linked) yet? Like CCS, the main Character, for TOS & A's, is 10-ish. But, I think, she's a good example of the kind of characterization you're looking for.
Thank you for the time... -
Also note one other thing...
If you have a SG/VG, you must be a VIP to pay rent. If there are other VIP players in the SG, as long as those characters have permission to pay the rent, you're good.
Otherwise, I believe the other posters answered your concerns.

Quote:While I am not all that familiar with how Fantasy Football works, please remember who's Posi's secondary QB and Special Team is: Da Bears Jay Cutler and the Bears Special Teams. Considering the pasting Cutler had against New Orleans in week 2... Also the Bears are 2-2 and facing Detroit next Monday. This is fantastic news for me. Positron has the most influence bet on him. I didn't think people would put that much faith in Vick. Posi, I really hate to profit off of your poor fortune, but you are making me a mint.
Now I'm a semi-Bears fan, but even I kinda figured Posi was in for a long haul just from past experience.

Quote:It's nothing announced, but why else would the Devs increase the number of Invention Salvage a player can hold as well as store in the Vault? Even running in the Beta, I noticed a slight uptic in the Salvage drop rate. I'm not complaining, mind you.The what? I just skimmed the I-21 patch notes looking for any reference to increasing the salvage drop rate and didn't see anything, although my search was not exhaustive. Is there really an announced change in drop rates?
I just find it interesting that I can get a good amount of Salvage after running a few missions of regular content at times. The only downside is the shear number of the more 'common' of the Common and Uncommon Salvage that is dropping now. I certainly don't attribute the over 16K for sale offers of Computer Viruses on the market right now strictly to a uptic in the drop rate, but it has a part.
