I wasn't mocking anything, so do go kindly stuff yourself. I was simply stating a fact to explain why his example of "all the cool names being taken" was an extremely poor one.
-
You know, your response would be meaningful rather than trolling had I made any sort of claim that my name was creative, original, etc. The fact of the matter is that "<color> Centurion" is not a particularly creative name. That doesn't make it bad necessarily, just means that the odds of it not being taken are extremely slim. To the point where I'd be extremely shocked to try it and find that it -IS- available on even a very low pop server.

Quote:With that spew of gibberish, he expects us to believe he's even been a "computer tech" for 20 years now? Or even an adult?Judging from his 4th post, I think he's either going to be regularly visited by the moderation fairy or just plain ragequit. And I don't think either is a particularly painful loss.

Quote:One name, and a frightfully unimaginative one at that, doesn't prove your point.K, try getting "Blue Centurion" on Freedom or Virtue, because I've been trying very regularly for four years.
Quote:But sure, if you want "Cool Name 412" you can probably get it. or "XxSpiderxX" Name a half dozen of your characters with cool names, on busy servers. -
It is possible that it's an intermittent bug and I always happened to be on my rogues when it was active.

Nope, they've always been able to do this. Same with Rogues on Hero missions. Might've been different during the GR beta, but I wasn't able to get in on that much.

Hell, I wound up turning OFF the persistent gore in Dragon Age because it just got annoying...

Quote:Power concepts, sure. But there's more to concept than just the powers. I don't see a hero that likes to fight crime in a snazzy suit and tie riding around on a rocket board much.Rocket board in all honesty fits ALL character concepts except one's where your hero/villain completely rejects all technology for some reason (which is a valid story based theme) OR a very small % where powers themselves would conflict with the ability to ride the board (and couldn't be creatively thought around). I don't care where you get your powers from you can learn to use a rocket board same as you can learn to drive a car. Very very very few power concepts will prevent this.

Same reason the mez protection in Super Reflexes is a click. Just the way it works. It's a compromise for the set.

Quote:Skulls have magic, too. Hellions summon demons, Skulls use voodoo magic of a sorts.I think this right here pretty much sums up how it is safe to use guns or blades in a superhero game. (and why it's not always a good idea).
And remember, lots of times we're attacking enemies who regenerate (trolls), have super-reflexes (Crey Operatives), have magic (hellions, carnies), use mutagens (destroyers, trolls, family), are mutants (outsiders), aliens (nictus), are supernatural (nerva demons, warwolves, vampyri) or are wearing power armor (crey tanks). Plus the robots.
that said there are times (low level skuls) where it's pretty hard to suspend disbelief. -
Quote:You talk as if someone lied to you and told you we were EVER going to get this option...When are we gonna get an option for blood and gore to show up on defeated opponent? For blood to spurt from their faces when that extreme attack hits?

Quote:Hover's fine speed-wise these days. It moves at around sprint speed unslotted. 3-Slot it and swift with flight speed, and I believe you get around the unslotted Fly speed.Ninja/Beast Run is absolutely amazing.
My usual combination for travel is SS + hover. SS is fine but hover for vertical movement sucks, it is very very slow.
You want sucky hover speed? Look at how it was in the early days... It was about useless. -
Quote:We do. That doesn't mean you'll never hit a queue, though. If the server's full, the server's full. You'll be among the first in the door ( Other VIPs that queued up ahead of you will get in first, of course ), but that doesn't mean you'll never have to wait.Actually VIPs are supposed to get priority queues. Whatever than means.
Honestly, the queues are a good sign ( Though also a sign that hardware upgrades are needed ): It means we're drawing enough population to fill the servers. That never happened except on 2xp+free reactivation weekends before. -
Honestly, if you slot up Swift and Sprint with runspeed, you can move at a good clip with Beast/Ninja Run. It really is viable as a travel power like this, IMO. It's not the fastest nor does it have the best verticle movement, but it is a good hybrid of superspeed and superjump ( Not as fast as SS or high leaping - nowhere near as high, but higher than CJ - as SJ... But, combine the two into one free power, and it's a fantastic deal ).
My one wish was that I could have Ninja Run turned on with SJ just for the flippy animation while I jump. -
I've seen well oiled teams where this is absolutely not true, actually, when all things are taken into consideration. For your average PUG, though, it's probably true in most cases.

Quote:Same here. In fact, I never once did old sewer runs.Yes, there were people who did the original origin contacts. I am one of those people.
Quote:I ran a new MM through the beginner Atlas Park contacts and I ended up with no contacts that way too. The new contact arc in AP does not give you new contacts at the end. I did skip Twinshot because I hate her and her friends. At least, she didn't a couple weeks ago.

Quote:Yeah, this. It's the new(ish) large warehouse rooms that are causing the problem. A really high end system won't notice it, but anything less...yeah. It's not the multiple video cards or anything, it's something screwy with the room design. That room is infamous for causing problems, I'm not sure changing anything on your system would help.
Preatorean lab maps don't seem to play nice, either. But they're less of a problem. -
Quote:One man's "thrill" is another man's "tedium and/or frustration". Neither man's wrong, just sayin'...It wasn't drastically. It was made easier (smaller enemy groups, mostly). They made some contacts easier to find. They added a hospital and a trainer in zone. And added a repeatable mission contact.
I feel that it made the zone too easy, and removed the thrill from the zone
