i think its more simple than what you guys are eluding too, AE gives players an opportunity to play the game without quantum rifles and void slayers, allbeit it takes a lot of the fun outta the AT's but still, now ppl are willing to take kheldians on ae teams because that stuff doesnt spawn unless the author put it there.
[/ QUOTE ]
Unless I've been missing something, Voids/Quants/Cysts/Dwarfs/Novas aren't all that common enough to be discouraging. My wife and I run into them often enough to keep us on our toes and still surprised when we see one, but not to the point that we're always looking out for them. Though we did get a good surprise the first time we ran into a Cyst... On a Synapse... In the boss room... Thankfully we had a team with a good sense of humor and ability to take it out after regrouping.
[/ QUOTE ]
If a keld joins the team there's always a void/quant in every mission (on large teams usually multiples) with normal missions. There's also the chance of encountering novas, dwarves, and on large teams cysts.
I'd have thought that the special mobs (voids especially) would spawn in AE missions anyway.
[/ QUOTE ]
But Cysts are the only ones that really even matter for the rest of the team, and I have yet to see one in AE. -

Not all spine attacks have the dot though do they?
[/ QUOTE ]
True - Assassin's Impaler, Build Up, and Placate don't have the DoT. Just all of the other powers in the set.
[/ QUOTE ]
Fire Melee's Placate would have DoT obviously. -
[ QUOTE ]
Hmmm, I suppose at the softcap one wouldn't need any of the extra survival tools, huh? I don't think I will be using too many IOs, if any at all, but thanks for the input nonetheless.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not necessarily...
Sha is good to just heal back any attacks that might get lucky and get through, and Blinding Powder can get you 4% Recovery, 4% Damage, 10% Recharge and 5% Ranged Defense via Coercive Persuasion (or the same type of bonuses but less % for dirt cheap with Malaise's Illusions).
Smoke Flash is pretty much crap though and Caltrops is very skippable (and Retsu if you are softcapped). -

this. please learn to use the search or at least go through at least the first couple of pages of threads before you post something.
[/ QUOTE ]
Why...so you don't have to read through unneeded posts?
Did you not just do basically the same thing by reiterating what the person before you just posted?
That's very hypocritical of you.

No, so you don't have to read through unneeded threads. -

My SS/Fire Brute. I actually got to 26ish and stopped for a bit (not sure why, its such a fun toon) and then when I started up again a little later I just cruised to 50.
Edit: My Arch/EM Blaster is a similar story. I made it back when there were only a handful of Archery toons on any given server, then I started playing CoV more. When Archery got revamped I figured I might as well try it out since I thought it was pretty good before, and it became even more powerful. After that I got to 48 pretty quickly and I just havent bothered to get those last 2 levels. -
/Regen Stalkers have good heals.
...But if you want to heal other people /Thermal or /Pain Corruptor. -

My Elec/Nin can take down Bosses pretty well... All I do is BU + LR into the spawn, AS the boss, Placate and Thunderstrike(minions are usually dead after TS). Thunderstrike does huge damage on whatever you are targeting (especially if the Energy damage part crits). The boss is usually pretty beat up by then and on the ground most of the time, so I can just finish him off with CI, Havoc Punch, Dark Blast, and maybe a vet attack if they resist Energy damage or something missed.
Sure, its not as fast or quite as safe as a DM, but I also killed most/all of the other mobs at the same time. Not to mention that most teams out there are AE farms where AoE is more useful anyway.
I would say Elec/Nin and DM/Nin are pretty equal, it just depends on what you want to do. I personally like Elec more because I dont like beating up one thing at a time when there are 10+ other guys right next to me. -
Shadow Meld is really good for a /Nin if you arent soft-capped already. If you are on a team without a good Brute you can use it and AS something and usually only 1 or 2 (if any) attacks will hit, and a lot of the mobs will have fear from demoralize. If your team is any good, by the time it wears off enough mobs should be dead and/or aggroed to other people for you to easily survive. And then its up by the next fight easily

It's either SS/Shield or SS/Fire for AoE purposes.
Burn probably gives SS/Fire more mathematical damage. Shield Charge probably gives /Shield more effective damage.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yea, burn does a ton of damage if you use your patron immob right. -
Okay cool... How much did that build cost you? (Just so I know about how long it will take to get the rest of the inf I need)
Oh and, I realized I accidentally put Regen Tissue: +Regen in RoTP and put it back in health in place of the Miracle: Heal because I had 6 +2.5% Rec already. -
[ QUOTE ]
You need a lot of +defense to soft cap /nin and you may only be able to soft cap either melee or range.
[/ QUOTE ]
You can soft cap all types on /Nin, its not too hard. -
Does anyone have and suggestions for this build? The set bonuses are mostly geared toward decent amounts of recharge, recovery, and regeneration. It will be used mostly for PvE, things like TFs and AE stuff, and is meant to be pretty survivable while doing a bunch of damage. I will do a lot of teaming probably, but it would be nice to be as self-reliant as possible. The toon is already 50 so slot levels dont matter. I looked off of some other SS/FA builds and threads and tried to make one that I would be happy with, with decent bonuses.

I take CT:O somewhere between 1-20 before Stamina and SOs, and respec out of it and replace it with Hurdle/Swift/Health at 20 for Stamina.
-
SS/FA is awesome. Dont know about SS/Shield.
-
Which kind of ZBoard do you have? You might want to try updating it (ZBoard does some weird stuff when its not updated sometimes).
On my ZBoard I just bound the commands I used most (like attack target, bodyguard mode, goto, follow, etc) to the buttons closest to WASD (you can bind multiple things to one key with shift, alt and ctrl). -

I'd prefer a 1%-100% speed slider. Harder to do, but much more useful.
