Quote:I understand that ... and why they didn't want to 7 years ago ... but now they have an animation that would fit SOO very perfectly with a hand gun swap.In concept, yeah, it'd be great. As Forbin said in the first reply, we all want it.
We're just informing you that it hasn't happened yet despite asking for seven years, and based on dev comments is unlikely to happen soon.
just don't crush my dream :'( ... :P -
Quote:1st. A couple red name people have posted here a few times in this forrum in the past couple monthsI don't think I've ever seen a dev post in this forum, but based on their comments elsewhere in the past, this is a lot of work and/or a poor solution.
How is, copy/paste/adjust animation time, a lot of work? The most complicated part, I imagine, would be putting in the different animations that come out of the barrel.
If you don't believe me, go look at the animations for the non DP guns. they are NEARLY identical except for barrel animations.
Granted, I don't know the complexity (nor do any of you) of moving the location the barrel animations, but that doesn't change that i want it to happen.
I'm just asking if you support the concept. Yes, or No. I'll even accept a "Yes ... as long as it doesn't take away too much time from ____s development." -
All the rifle animations are the same, Gun at your side shooting ... it's only how long they stand there and what comes out of the gun. Doesn't sound like a band-aid nor sloppy to me.
-
I'm not asking for new animations ... just copy one animation and alter the length of time. Could a Dev tell me if that would take a lot of work. PLS
-
HAHAHAHA SOOO this ^^^^
I always forget that I have other auras ... I also hate my messy e-mail
Please give us the options to "delete" e-mails from all 3 of our emails ... I hate messing with vanity pets and the space they take in both the email, and the power list ... and when you do a respec. OH ... the frustration. -
I would like to be able to pick any gun for any gun set.
Example: I want my beam/elec blaster to hold a handgun instead of a full rifle. They could use the executioners shot for EVERY animation ... just slow it down or speed it up for each one. Maybe add a energy affect to the end of the barrel.
My toons concept is that they armor suit powers the gun ... so the gun doesn't need to be HUGE.
This could also apply to a toon that's huge/strong enought to hold an assault rifle in one hand. -
Quote:This ^^^Please. No more alternate versions of these signature NPCs. PLEASE! It has been done to death here and we need fresh and new.
How about a universe that only has one AV (could be reichman, he won the war) and he's a tyrant. You arrive in an underground city that's hiding from all those on the surface. They found a source of well water ... it seeps up from the earth and only enough for one person a month to drink from it (they're had no luck finding someone that becomes powerful). When you get there you start helping the society by saving and returning people. At the end of the story arch, they allow you to drinnk of the well(recieve a well whatever, depending on the LVL of the area). -
Is this just a fan thing ... or would it be set up by Dev's ... or would the Dev's be invited?
If we're assuming it a thing we want the Dev's to go to ... we should find out where they're willing to go.
That aside ... Albuquerque, NM. Lots of things are starting to come here. Athletic endurance training ie: cycling, marathon, top MMA fighter training, we even started getting popular bands.
We have some famous movie stars live here, in/around Santa Fe. And many of the recent movies have been filmed here.
But, I do agree that it would be easiest for all players(including euro) if it was in a place close to the ocean. -
Quote:Ok ... So you are ok with the concept being made ... as long as it's easy to make code wise. Thanks for your support. No, but I'd happily wager that it's a blooming big tech hurdle. Otherwise, why would Shield Charge and Lightning Rod still be targeted Teleports, rather than 'on target' teleports?
I'm indifferent to the concept. I don't see it as a bad thing, nor is it something I'd give souls for. But that doesn't really matter; you can wish technical problems away as much as you want, that won't make them vanish.
I imagine, twigman knows no code, that since they already have TP ... they could make a work around code to make target coding happen.
Example: When you press the power, it places the "target" for the TP under your target and instantly TPs you. They could even use the SJ and Shield Charge attack as the animation.
Though, I just realized that the throw enemy at another enemy would be too complicated ... and I mean to play ... Let me think what i can replace that with. -
Quote:Not happening, for so many reasons.
1) Afaik, Teleports so far can only work with a Targetted AoE, not an 'On Target' AoE. I.e. like Shield Charge works now. So trying to make it an 'On Target' teleport set is mechanically impossible<-opinion.
2) Throws. For the animations to not look utterly silly/broken/godawful <-opinion you'd need direct interaction between two character models. Again, impossible with this engine and current code, as far as we've been told.
3) Boring. The power names would never make it through. You can't have a whole set of powers with duplicate names, not least because it would confuse the game itself something awful.
Keep in mind, the self TP can be removed and the throws can be changed (if either or both would need to be).The question remains ... would you like the concept?
All in all, it's simply one mechanical hurdle after another. And not small ones, either.
1) Do you know how hard it would be to implement a TP to target code? No? really? I don't either ... so we can Leave that topic out.
2) I can see how they can make the "Throws" happen. It would look a little off. But your mind and RP would auto connect it.
3) is a poor reasoning ... names can be changed. I put them there for connection purposes only. -
Bull Rush
All conceptual ... recommendations/order changes/numbers are welcome
Every attack has a miniscule AoE damage. Every "Charge" does self TP to Target. Every "Throw" does an irresistable foe TP.
T1) Charging (5FT) fist-ST charging fist. Minor but stackable(like KM)KU
T2) Charging (5FT) shoulder- ST shoulder. KB
T3) Throw down- ST Throws target over shoulder w/ impact damage(like the changes to Grave troll). heavy Mag KD
T4) placate/taunt
T5) Pending
T6) Iron skin heavy ToHit buff Adds (additional) heavy impact damage to all attacks (including the inherent AoE)
T7) Charging (10FT) strike- TAoE Charge in herding (foe TP) any enemy within taunt aura range to be right in front of player. Minor damage. KD
T8) Charging (5FT) Bull- TAoE Charge in swinging sholders. KB
T9) Charging (20FT) Take down- ST Charge enemy Extreme damage w/impact. high Mag KD -

Quote:AH ... I can see and agree with that, in that, it could easily be altered to hold a whip. Though, I've still never seen a chain held like that. The only time I've seen a rope type weapon held like that is the asian weapon, a rope with a dagger on the end. Which I would also LOVE.I was imagining it more like This.

Unfortunatly, Since your 50 has been getting 2X the influence since you hit 50. No current toon would have a jump on any other. Just like the quote you sited. There would be no retroactive actions for anyone.

Quote:Good point ... I wonder why the clubbers don't ask why we aren't out protecting the city. Or, saying any number of things.---snip-
as well as giving me something to do at Pocket D besides just talk to people, something that often ends in disappointment when it turns out that literally everyone is just looking to hook up.

Maybe have a hero stalker in the club that keeps hitting on heroes. LOL -
Quote:This one shines in my book, and should be applied outside of public channels as well. Simple and easy:
If a free account get reported as a spammer by over 5-10 VIP's, it loses its premium-level chat privileges for the day.
If you wanted to make it more complex:
Free account starts with access to: Broadcast, Tells, Help, Local
1. If 2 spam reports = no Broadcast for the day
2. If 5 spam reports = no Tells for the day
3. If 20 spam reports = no Help for the day
4. If 50 spam reports = no Local for the day
And a weekly count:
If over 100 spam reports = no Broadcast/Tells/Help/Local chat next week
And a monthly count:
If over 200 spam reports = no Broadcast/Tells/Help/Local chat next month
I would agree to this ... but it should be where they don't know their chat's can't be seen. All they know is no one is responding. There should be no "you have been marked as a spammer by 20 people and can't post this chat for a full 24hrs." Give the annoying people a punishment for harassing others. -

I was thinking a choice of a summoned attack pet. Any of the existing ones ... but it's commandable like the MM pets.
Or, any of the existing temp powers. Give it a week use, a shorter recharge.
Also, give the large insp pops when you hit LVL. You could plan a boss aound it, of it would be a nice save. It would be nice to continue the "grats" -
Quote:Signed.I could type out a long winded story about respecing or creating new a build. But I think anyone who has more then 2 toons and / or has done a few respecs of their toons knows what I am about to discuss.
There just has to be a better way when a player has 20+ toons to look through all this stuff to see if you have the IOs and salvage you need.
When you come to think about it, the initial creation or the respec of a build should not be the game. It should not waste hours of your time looking through toons and moving stuff around. The game should be about playing and not house keeping.
Now I will say Mia culpa for my part in all of this. But without a doubt the devs also have a hand in this mess as well.
Again the build or respec should not feel like the chore it does now.
With the intro of the market I can honestly say I would pay to have the ability to organize and access my IOs and salvage across my all my toons either per server or per side. Just anything would be better then what is in place now.
I would like a build process option similar to Mids. It would apply to secondary builds and respecs. You can choose wether you want to choose powers then slots or go in the original order.
I too would pay, though I would like it to just be that way, to have all my toons salvage, receipies and so on to be sever or global. Can we also have the market available on the CoH website. Sometimes all I wanna know is if I bid on a certain item, do I have it yet? That, or make the trading post a sever thing. So, all my toon buy/sell in one place. -
Quote:I agree sales would drop ...I didn't say no one would buy them. I said it would remove that aspect of their allure, which is to say demand would decrease, which would result in less sales. Not NO sales, but less sales. Note also that I haven't said I dislike the idea. I only said that I doubt the devs would want to reduce the appeal of their own product.
I really am not going to discuss the realism/concept aspect of this any further at all, because it is a pointless line of reasoning, and usually leads to making the game worse, not better.
I agree to the pointlessness of argueing the concepts ...
I still want them to do it. -
If you let PLers buy enhancments too ... it would make their presence almost as if they weren't even playing as far as the market and other players are concerned. They would no longer JUST be buying and thus making a high demand for an already low quantity. There would then be a moderate demand for a low quantity. This action on CoH part would improve the pricing on the market actually.
-
Quote:A I know people would still buy them if they made them a little morre affordable and put ALL the IO except purples in there. The Alure of the Paragon market IO's is that they can be bought out right. If they wanna make them really nice, they could make them auto +3 for purchasers.A Currently, the Paragon Market enhancements have a distinct advantage over normal IOs: they level with you, and exemplar down with you. This is part of their allure. Giving this feature to normal IOs removes that allure from the point-bought enhancements.
B Again, arguments based on realism carry very, very little weight here, but if you insist: Why do YOU have a level? Why do your enemies have a level? Level represents power. If you're fighting a level 10 enemy, his weapons/armor/spells/mutant glands/whatever are not as strong as a higher-level enemy's would be. If they were, he wouldn't be level 10.
B Who's to say the enhancments that the lvl10 enemies carry don't ALSO LvL up with them? -
Quote:As easy as it may be, there is a market for those that want to BUY the enhancments with $ ... if CoH sold them in paragon market, the RMTers would be gone ... it would take time ... but it would still happen. As far as the PLing, the dev's are making plenty of options to do it yourself ...Exactly where did you get the delusion that it takes months to "earn" anything in this game?
Without power leveling players can get a character to the level cap in a few days.
Players can get virtually anything that gets sold on the market in random drops at any moment they are actively playing the game.
With very little effort on the market players can earn millions on the starting with nothing more than the inspiration they get from the the tutorial.
Players can easily earn their first million inf before they reach level 10 by paying attention to the NPC's they fight and selling the drops they get.
In addition to random drops and the market players can get what they want by trading in merits and AE tickets.
As to the rest of your question, what I'm saying is that the only way to effectively combat RMT is to remove everything from the game that RMTers could sell/trade.
It's too late for the devs to do that. They had the chance to do it when they were designing the IO system before it was released in Issue 9, but they didn't foresee that RMTers would flock to the game. We never had an RMT problem before I9.
So, we come back to ... though it is easy for players to get everything with a little time and effort, some just want it now ... and CoH can offer it to them without crashing the market or ruining anyone elses game. So, are you agreeing to that. it's an everybody wins answer. -
I agree that an AE building in RWZ is kinda out of place, on nice, active, still used building amongst destruction. ... one in Pocket makes more sense.
Agreed, The skii slopes should have a similar season to other skii slopes. 3-4 months.
You know what would be awesome ... make a VIP room in pocket D. LOL That could be the iTrial forming room. -
Quote:ok ... actual concept aside ... how would changing level based enhancments to open enhancments take money from the pockets of Devs? ... Epecially when they already made the code for it? It also wouldn't be that hard ... I believe. Replace all ___LVL 30-50 with ___. Market would auto consolidate itself ... I believe. If your not a dev ... you can't contradict my "beliefs" LOLArguments based on realism carry very, very little weight here. Especially when it's nearly a non sequitur anyway, because age and level are only vaguely connected.
Plus, I'm not sure the devs are too excited about reducing the allure of one of their own sources of revenue.
oh, concept still remains, Why would something I found have a LVL conected to it?
In any case, let's let the Dev's decide. Give a number of days/hours you'd agree to for the Dev's to implement this ... I would say 3 days is plenty of time for it to happen. Not enough to take any significant amount of time out of the other projects and it still be able to be done. (keep in mind that's only one dev working on it out of how many?) -
Quote:So, are you saying that they should make account restricted IO set available in the paragon market, to cater to the players who would rather pay for a quick boost than play the game for months to earn it? That's what I read. That act all by itself would remove the "gold" traders because CoH took all the business. It takes more than a brief sale of account restricted IO's to affect the AH. Most players don't buy them because they can't be sold or traded on the market. As long as IO recipes drop in the game, or can be bought with merits there will be a supply that will end up in the AH.
And as was explained before the only way IO sales on the Paragon Market could be used to combat RMT transactions would be to remove regular IO's from the AH and replace the, with the account restricted IO's on the market.
That would mean there would no longer be a constant supply of trade-able IO's in the game and the ones remaining would become priceless and the players that had them would charge/pay billions for them.
Just look at base salvage as an example. It has absolutely no purpose in the game anymore and yet there are people spending hundreds of millions on some of the items (Fa'lak Amulet, R'yleh's Rain) just so they can have a set.
