hows that fix looking castle?
[/ QUOTE ]
Geko and I may have figured out a fix this morning. I'm working on it...but still no ETA.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wow, really nice to hear that. My brother is big on the PvP aspect and plays a brute. -
I just can't drum up any interest in a base. I rarel, if ever, went in them when I was in a SG. I am now a very happy independant superhero.
My costume on the other hand I look at all the time. For me it really is that simple.
Bases are ugly, unwieldy, expensive, and only useful in cutting down travel time.
Costumes are fun, unique, always visible to yourself and everyone around you, and cheap.
Probably all said before though.
=^.^= -
I am a flier personally. It can be a little slow at times though, especially after playing my Fire/Fire brute who had to take SJ to fill that *long stream of curses* mezz hole.
-
Okay, enough is enough! It was funny the second and third time, but this is getting rediculous! It is like night of the freaking dead in here! For good messure toss in Shawn of the Dead as well.
*shoots Necrothread in head*
Come on people...
*shoots another*
How many do we need!
*uses grenade to blow several necrothreads to bits*
=^_^= -
Begon Necro Poster!
*sprays zombie be gone on thread*
Sorry, out of ammo for my boomstick -
*Revs up her chainsaw and pulls out a boomstick*
Come on boys, we need to kill this sucker but good!
*shoots thread in the head*
Darn Necro Threads! DIE! -

Anyway, in regards to Safeguard missions, I always thought that it would be kind of like cleaning up after a mayhem mission, with civilians trapped under rubble you'd have to destroy, putting out burning buildings, stopping villains who've taken advantage of the chaos to run wild in the streets.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ooooo!
That sounds downright nifty!
[/ QUOTE ]
yes it does!!! Read this states and Posi!!! Give the players what they want!
[/ QUOTE ]
Someone grab this idea and PM to Posi! That would be so freaking cool. Double so if the safeguard mission ended with you entering the bank to thump the villan(s) trying to steal the money. -
Fallen/Redeemed is the one feature I have been wanting since I first heard of CoV. Besides, we have to make multiple characters anyways to experience all the games content already. What does it matter if I would have to make one or two more? o_O
Dang, most of the time I don't even need excuses to endulge in my alt-itis! With an excuse I will enter Alt-overload... again.
x_x -
Meh, I don't even go in any of my SG bases, so they aren't even a transit system for me.
Despite that I sit in SG mode on my 46 tank at all times. Why? Because I have 10 mil inf and can't be bothered to go for the inf badges. >_>
Bases are just to boring, usesless, and (imo) fugly. I don't even think about any of the new gizmos that have been added in i7. I survived this long without empowerment stations, I sure don't need them now. Besides, I hear they don't even really work that well or do that much. -

Yeah, its months subscribed; not months paid last I checked too >.>
Of course, I'm still screwed. I joined a month after CoX launched; but due to an account switch, I've only got CoV's launch on my current account as my start date.... so yeah <;.;> /sigh
[/ QUOTE ]
I think you should beat up your brother for that one.Wasn't it you who allowed their bro to get to 50 on her account? Hmm? (... her? I think?)
I'm glad it's for subscription though because ... well, I've been around. Every. Day.
Heck, I'd like something special for those geeks of us who have the most consecutive days played...
[/ QUOTE ]
Technically my fault yeah <,<; But I had no idea he'd stick to one character like glue... and for that matter; join an SG, with which he played almost constantly <O.o>; It was truely odd.
Oh well >< I hope whatever the 3 year reward is I won't feel like crying about. Cause I'll be quite sad if its truely awesome or something I'd really want >.<;; Knowing my luck it will be <T_T> Oh well. Maybe the Mecha AT will be in by the time I get it <'x'>; I can wish can't I?
[/ QUOTE ]
Your brother sounds like some odd mutant or something... Did the Devouring Earth get at him? A good warning sign is if he has started to sprout leaves on his arms and head. >_>
A person who doesn't have Alt-itis just sounds so... wierd.
And I too have fingers and toes crossed that the 2yr and 3yr rewards are not too cool. I have only been playing for about a year now. -
We are loosing Cuppa? I would /e Khan, but I am to stunned. I have a tear in my eye, sniff. This is the last time I take a vacation. You go away for two weeks and the whole world goes to crud.
We are all really going to miss you Cuppa.
I guess it is time to go look into Tabula. All I have read this morning is Doom posts.

Personally I don't like how we have so many times we can respec, period. It is cool and all having to do a trial to earn the right to respec, but afterwords I would like to be able to at any time, for a hefty inf cost, be able to respec my build. Sometimes a power gets changed in a patch like this and it no longer works or fits a build. Other times a power that was borked gets fixed and now it would work for my build. Other MMOs let you alter your character unlimitited times, why does CoX have to limit you?
The way respecing is currently done doesn't encourage experimentation with builds and playstyle. Right now everyone has to go to the test server to try out a new build before making it permanent on the Live servers.
Just a little something that gets on my nerves, but isn't a huge deal really.
As for this Ghost Widow stuff, what is wrong with them making the power work how they intended it to? No hold should be able to prevent you from using break frees. But for the love of all that is holy, keep the animation! It is the biggest draw in me having over 3/4 of my current builds going GW! -

No he said up to 10. He also daid the number of critters that take damage...meaning if you miss there's no taunt.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think he meant up to ten on that particular attack. As in other attacks can gauntlet more or less. Just my interpritation. -

[ QUOTE ]
And try to use Guantlet on an AV now and see how long they attack you before your squishy defender gets 1 shotted.
[/ QUOTE ]
My squishy defender usually gets one shotted by the AV's AoE, not because I lost agro, and the AV turned and attacked said squishy defender. Damn them for getting in close to give me RA!
[/ QUOTE ]
Had that happen against the clock king last night. I had agroed him without even noticing he was near the spawn I had leaped into.I blame the sunset glare! Anyhow, I was doing my normal thing Contronking the spawn (oranges and greater to me) when I took a rather large hit. >.> I thought the Prince just got lucky and hit me at the same time as a pair of Tesla Knights <.< A couple of teamates face planted and the rest were talking about the Clock King. >.> Silly me, I thought they were discussing theory. >.< Well, I turned around and gave a a big 'DOH!' when I saw ol' Clocky pounding on my fellow icers head. It was about then that the defender (I don't think she was an empath) ran in to use one of her powers and was hit by a nuke. I take full blame for all those face plants.
I should have looked before I agroed!
Actually, I think evey single other member of the team did a face plant against Clocky.

I absolutely rely on gauntlet and my aggro-auras to maintain aggro, and I've never had any complaints. I haven't had taunt in my build since about I4. I have fought AVs, large spawns, +3s and +4s, and GMs without losing aggro to my teammates.
You can indeed rely on it, without problem.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ahem, Aett, a slight problem. We are Ice/Ice tanks with the ultimate in agro grabbing. A thermonuclear device can't pull agro off us once we step into the range of a spawn. The only way we could possably loose agro is if we for some insane reason wanted to loose it. >.> The poor other powersets are not as lucky.
As for Gauntlet beeing useless? Come over here so I can thwack some sense into you with my mixing spoon! I have not used taunt since my first most formative days (back when I got it at level 4 I believe >.>I can get all the agro I want with punchvoke, er gauntlet. I had an Inv brute standing beside a mob while a teammate tested her brawl indexes out. That was a brute with the inferior version of gauntlet. My Inv/SS's also never wanted for agro. Less agro maybe, but not more agro. <.<
If not for this possable agro bug Guantlet would be all a tank would ever need for agro management. -

Teleport beacons for all CoH zones?
Yes. It's in our internal QA right now, making sure they all work right. (So it's a patch or three away from the Training Room server).

Good thing the characters I plan to play that weekend are designed to opperate in a healerless world. More room for Rads, Kins, Darks, FFs, and Sonics! I just love those guys!
*Gives out heaping plates of cookies to everyone who has the fore mentioned sets* -
Two Red Name posts in one day? I think I am going to faint...
But the question that gets me is still why not remove the -def penalty and Tough Hide, and not come up with an interesting new power. Also, people have been complaining left, right, and center about the passives. Why not move the +res gained in Unyielding to them? Net results being a new power, and a slight loss of defence because of not being able to have the slotted up bonus from Tough Hide. The passive would be useful and have a point to getting sloted as well. Unyielding would be nothing like it original incarnation, but I don't feel that is a bad thing. Powers need to grow and change, and I hope that these changes would, if implimented, make the set feel more balanced. Invs problem is being a little cumbersome in how it is done, not the numbers per se.
Just my thoughts, for what they are worth, _Castle_. Keep up the good work. -
HOLY HANNA!!! A RED NAME!!!!!
/e Praise _Castle_
I don't even care what you said, you are now my hero! No, didn't read it, my jaw it the floor when I saw your beautiful, glorious name. Stay and chat, have some cookies, I have some peanut butter in the oven if you want to wait... Tea? Or Coffee?? Where are you going? Am I that scary????
*Tackles _Castle_ to prevent him from ever leaving*
Ahem, all sillyness aside. The only problem I have is with Burn having the Fear Effect. Blazing Aura has nothing wrong with it, imo. Also, a granny with a walker has more offence then the other three primaries, so saying Fire/ is the most offensive is really saying a whole lot. What really needs answering is its offence/defence in balance to the other sets defence/offence. As you said, Ice has a 90.1 % as effective aura. But its defences are far greater then Fires. Does Burn and FE really make that difference up? I have a friend who is a fire tanker, I'll ask him and run some stuff with him to try it out. I wonder why I never thought to do that...
*Edit*
Removed comments on Burn timer. _Castle_ doesn't want to get into that, and I respect that. Another time and place for it. Comments were a joke anyways.

It boggles my mind how they think that this is a good design path. Put a negative in an early power, then make a late power that is solely to remove this negative. Why not just get rid of the negative? Would Unyielding be so hidiously overpowered without that -def? Is it that they can not come up with another power for an Inv tank? I find that it hard to believe that it is the latter. Remove the -def, toss Tough hide, and create a 'Battle Roar' type power that gives you a small end buff for every enemy in a small radious and has a short taunt as well as a small -def or -res penalty on the mobs hit. Have a 90% base accuracy and presto, instant fix for a small hole in Inv (end Recovery), as well as another way to keep mobs taunted. And I came up with that just off the top of my head. I am sure that the devs can come up with far better if they put some effort into it.

Either way, I'll be playing all weekend attempting to get my level 40 brute to 50 in 3 days. Good times!
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, it is going to be like the time I got my scrapper from 1-22 in a weekend... No sleep for me it looks like. Oh well, it's not like I have a life or anything. >.>
Right, now to pre-level my various characters to level ranges where I can run really really good xp stuff... So I'll miss some contacts.. . Meh, I have done them all before... -
Only two days of double??? NOOOoooooo.... But I have so many characters I want to level up
. Who do I chose? Should I play the new Virtue characters? Try to get my 42 tank up? My pair of brutes on Freedom??? I need to be triplicated or something! Think we could persuade them to make it a week?
-
Yeah, it is a bit of a head scratcher why they have a power in a set just to counter a de-buff in a lower level power. But what kinda utility can be given to Inv? It already has a darn good HP buff/heal, can't have more def/res it seems. A 'Quickness'? Hmmm... What about a PbaoE Fear? Idea being you are so incredably tough your opponents cower in fear... Hmmm... maybe a bit to much like dark.
