    GGGGGYYYYYAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

damn him, damn him all to heck. i've waited years to get my hands on the wild card books, and finally they release them in e-book format, but somehow forgot number 2, they put out 1,3,4, and 5....... i was livid when i finished 1 and couldn't find number 2.

Just for the record, I do want a slice of pie.

    Well DUHHHHH!!!!!!
who doesn't want a slice of PIE?????

  5. to OP, just to point out, Pain Domination was the red side version of empathy, or replacement for theme reasons..... seeing as how they wouldn't port empathy to redside, why would the whole new set they created to replace it be ported over to blue?

this goes along with people requesting dark miasma as a control set.....

i'm all for proliferating every powerset to every APPROPRIATE archetype, but neither of the above make that cut....

funny that, i got sent home in kindergarten, teacher id the around the room "what do you want to be when you grow up"? question. i was nonplussed with the standard three answers at that age, policeman, fireman, astronaut. so i went with werewolf, and was dead serious at the time....... my mom was quite pissed that they called her, not so much at me, but i do think she was worried.

liking werewolves is not a furry "thing". making a whole server full of cat girls is another thing altogether.
  7. though i have no interest in this animal pack, and honestly the amount of "furry" adoration on these forums sometimes disturbs me, i do so hope that this pack is done well. because that should give some indication of the level of the steampunk pack right around the corner, and that i AM looking forward to. so, lets all hope for numerous pieces (i agree the last couple have been kinda lite on content for their price), all well done, no major clipping issues, and an obvious intent to utilize the graphics capabilities of this game to near max. this will all bode well for my impending steam punky goodness.

ummmmmm, i fail to see a problem here.....
  9. ok, so i'm not a newb, but i have some very newbish qualities. i have never used mids, i don't build for "numbers", and i have never played a def based set higher then late teens. i always build for concept, and tend to stick to res sets for melee'rs, i have a hard time coping with the squishyness of def based sets in the early levels.

but i have decided to give it a concerted effort over the dbl xp weekend. and since soft capping seems to be the end goal of def players, i'll be shooting for that. so finally the question; when i look at soft capped builds posted here in the forums i never see the +def power toggle from the leadership pool, why not? is the def bonus not worth it? is it not worth it compared to the end usage? everyone squeezes in weave, but with the extra power slots we all have now with inherent fitness, why does no one seem to pick up this +def power?

    Adaptions & You

angry nerd rage rants are better served with correct spelling, adaptions isn't a word.

secondly, i could possibly see your reasoning if someone "adapted" a book by writing another book...... but transferring medias is, in itself, a reason to do so. regardless of the end product and whether you appreciate it or not is not the point, it's the reasoning behind it. Which you must assume is "i like this (insert original source material), wouldn't it be great if could turn it into a movie". haven't we all thought that exact same thing about a beloved story from our past? and aren't we all equally assured that we would absolutely hate what someone else has done with "our beloved material"?

your rant is unsolicited, and since it wasn't in response to a specific adaptation, it smacks of self indulgence, born of the anonymity of the internet. thank you oh so much for foisting your angst ridden, misspelled complaints on all of us.
  11. first dom past level 10 (bad altitis), my earth/earth is my dbl xp weekend project, currently at 15, trying to get him out of praetoria before the 27th. sooooo excited about this toon

all this stupid work is getting in my way though.......... must find more time efficient way to make money
  12. it appears to be glitched on certain costumes/models, not sure which, but i know i've had it not show up on a couple of costumes i was trying to make

It's 'niche' of being one of two defense sets (and the other, stone armor, is taken mostly for its massive resists in granite) has been stolen by super reflexes and shield defense.

It's a really ****** combo. You can make it work because you can make anything work in CoX... but it's a really ****** combo. Not energy melee/energy armor ******, but close. For advice: Load for as much typed defense as you can with IOs, grab the global defense boosting powers and IOs like the steadfast, combat jumping, weave (I also have manoevers and hover ... might as well take advantage of Energy Drain and save a bundle on kinetic combats). I paired my /ea with dark in the hopes that dark could fix the suck like it does with ever other set except stone armor. It does, but when defense begins to fail... and it does in large spawns pretty much instantly thanks to a very low defense debuff resistance.... nothing in Paragon can save her from faceplanting.

And enjoy being invisible all the time, as it's a huge part of your defense score and even survivability. It doesn't matter what you make for a costume.... like a stalker you'll only see it when you're standing around looking cool.

you sir, are a traitorous lech. you are being watched now, if you ever speak against the STRONG and PRETTY again......... there WILL be reprisals!

  21. so................. in summation,
DM/FA works great as either a scrapper or a brute, the theoretical numbers being nothing more then internet argument fodder.

i've played both AT's with this build, i prefer the brute, because as fury builds i FEEL like i'm doing more damage, but that's nothing more then my perception. and i'm ok with that. the higher res numbers on a brute may actually help, but anyone who's played FA will know it's more about the res plus the heal, and with DM's siphon life being a great attack (if not end heavy) and a decent little heal to boot, with 2 end management powers and 2 "build ups", this is a fun, clicky, action oriented meleer. you won't go wrong with either.

really???? i keep looking at this on "watch now" on netflix, and i reread the description, and go "no freaken way", sounds like braken 2, electric boogeloo, with super powers.

but i will watch it on your recommendation......... of course this makes you completely responsible for my enjoyment of the film.... there could be dire consequences!!!!
  23. ok, someone already mentioned George R. R. Martin, the first book in the wild card series finally re-released and in digital format... Yay!!!!!!

i would recommend Black and White, and the second book in the series, Shades of gray. superhero fiction, and pretty darned good. authored by two ladies, neither of which i remember the name of. but i just finished the second book on my Nook.

i would highly recommend Simon R Green's nightside series, 9 or 10 books in all, the first 7 of which are GREAT. it's urban fantasy stuff, very much like neverwhere (Neil Gaiman), so if you've read that and liked it, try simon's stuff. great world building, interesting characters, and a ton of fun in an easy read.

i'll think of some more soon and update my post, gonna go eat now before i starve to death....

the problem doesn't reside on the target server, it resides on the logon/patch server. some folks are getting on fine, but they also had a patch pushed to them when they logged in, alot of us have not, that is the issue. without the patch, the target servers will not let us in.

i love this game, i love our devs, but as an IT professional myself, an 11th hour emergency patch on a saturday requires more diligence then this, poorly played devs, poorly played

but since this is a 3 strike game (cuz i said so) and in my book, this is really your first strike in 4+ years, no ragequit here, JUST FIX THE DURNED THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. so i just tried restarting the launcher 10 times in a row...... no dice.
could we get some idea as to why this is happening, or when it will be fixed?
possibly a batch of logon servers not pushing the patch, devs aware of the issue and currently working feverishly to fix it?
