I think the difference is that Marvel costumes tend to be more specific in design (while, at the same time, many them tend to change every decade or so), while DC costumes tend to be just tights and a cape but with a very specific insignia (and those costumes have remained more or less unchanged, with maybe a few color differences, for more than half a century).
For example, it's easy to replicate most of Superman's classic costume in the CoH costume creator, but impossible to replicate his trademark stylized S chest insignia. (You can put an S on your character's chest, of course, but it's not Superman's S).
On the other hand, there are pieces in the creator that very closely resemble some trademark Marvel pieces, like Cyclops' visor, Wolverine's claws, and Iron Man's faceplate. (And Cyclops is one of those characters who has never had a single "iconic" costume; the iconic part of his costume is that visor and an overall blue color scheme, with the rest of it changing every couple of years)
So that may be why Marvel got to Lawsuit-land first. -
I suspect that if there were any dev bronies, we would have had a Pegasus Transformation Travel Power long before now.

I don't play my Mastermind due to lack of VIP-ness, but that should change soon. (And, in fact, I'm debating whether I should subscribe for one month or just spend the same amount money to just unlock Masterminds as Premium)
I don't think I'm a very "good" Mastermind, but I love my Bots/Storm. (My Thugs/Traps is pretty fun, too) -
At your level, you might want to try grabbing one of the Recluse Victory exploration badges. The PvP areas aren't too densely populated (or, at least, they weren't on Protector when I got the Ouro power for my first character that way).

The article was definitely off on one point, though: he seems to be claiming that Incarnate content was only just made as a reaction to Going Rogue's lack of mind-blowing success. Incarnate stuff was first announced at around the same time as Going Rogue, and they were originally both supposed to release at the same time (in Issue 18), though the Alpha Slot did wind up getting held back for one issue.

Really bad arc idea:
Mission 1: A mad scientist named "Clayton" sends you into a bad monster movie to fight an alien that looks like a gorilla wearing a space helmet.
Mission 2: He then sends you into an old Japanese movie to fight off chicken-like aliens and their giant monster while being aided by a guy named The Artist From Space.
Mission 3: He sends you into yet another movie, where you have to defeat a criminal mastermind with a mind-control mask (while also rescuing an Aztec priest and breaking the mind control on his cougar-themed protoge).
Mission 4: You get fed up with the crappy movies and go to take on Clayton himself, but he's guarded by minions and lieutenants from the movies, and he's slapped on a suit of power armor. -
The worst one is an Arachnos map (in one of Regent Korol's "side" missions) that apparently has two exits. I was coming from the entrance, and saw the boss I had to stop running down an entirely different corridor in the wrong direction... and then - even though I was between the boss and the exit, and he never even headed in my direction - the boss somehow escaped and I failed the mission.
-
Make the 1960s Arachnos costume pieces (or reasonable facsimiles) available for Soldier and Widow characters.
That is all.
Told you it was silly.
(But I do actually want it) -
Yeah, all the powers have been revealed (albeit not officially). There are pictures of the power descriptions if you Google Search for them, but they keep getting deleted from here.
It's all over the map (two attacks, one travel power, one ally buff, one self-buff), but no Mez powers (except a chance for knockdown in one of the attacks).
Hopefully this post is vague enough that it won't get crushed by the mods. -
You know how we have topics that are all "Okay, the four-legged rig was cool at first, but can we move onto something else now?"
That's what they'd be saying about me after a few months, except instead of "four-legged rig", it'd be "dragons".
(Granted, my dragons would also use the four-legged rig, so it'd be the best of both complaints) -
Is the Villain skin going away, or is this just a re-skinning of the area "behind" the forums (where the images of Statesman and the robot are now)? I always use the Villain skin, so I can tell at a glance whether I'm logged in or not.

Control/Defense is possibly the best representation of the Green Lantern power set I can think of. (Though a Gravity/FF Controller is already pretty close)
I'd love a shapeshifting AT, but as I understand it, we're already getting one, so... deck accomplished! -
Quote:Just an additional note here. After you create a character for the first time, the next time you log in, the server at the very top of the list will be the one with the character you last played on it regardless of its server load. So don't panic if you select a heavy-load server from the bottom of the list only to see it at the very top next time. When you log in to the game, the servers are listed in order from the least busy at the top, to the most busy at the bottom. The list actually goes by server load, not population per se, but there's a pretty strong correspondence between server load and population.
As for me, I like Protector, and most of my characters are there. It's a relatively quiet server, but that's what I like about it. -
I'm not sure, but I think those Omega pieces I just got (thanks, NCSoft Free Code Giveaway!) might be perfect for my Stone/Stone Tanker. With any luck, I'll know next month.

I don't think it's meant to be a game at all, parody or otherwise.
It looks like someone took the basic concept of Nyancat (a short animation, music, and a timer) and just used different animation and music.
(In other words, the joke about it being any sort of "game design" was made in this thread, not in the work itself) -
I have one. I like him in theory (and I love the animations), but he feels a lot weaker offensively and squishier defensively than the numbers suggest.
Edit: Then I noticed the problem: he's on IOs, and I have no license. I just respecced his second build into the same build (but with SOs instead of IOs), and NOW he feels a lot better, both offensively and defensively.
.... so I think I will be playing him now. I'm getting tired of my Brutes (and I haven't yet the money to unlock my Masterminds). -
Quote:I believe that's a convention carried over from IRC roleplay. At least, that's where I first saw that convention. This was back in the mid-to-late 1990s, mind you.You know someone is a roleplayer when they start ((talking like this to denote out of character chat)) squawking like a duck.
((but that is only if they are roleplaying a duck.))
I always read it as a stage whisper. -
If they did this, the Carnival of Shadows (and spin-offs) should totally talk like P.T. Bridgeport.

It's already been mentioned, but Electric Melee with the colors tinted black may be exactly the sort of "Dark melee" you want, with the forks of the electric bolts resembling tiny tentacles. Electric Armor colored black may work for the same reason. You don't have to use both, of course, but either may actually be closer to what you're picturing than actual Dark powers.
And Energy Mastery is always good if nothing else seems to fit, if only for the nice Auto powers.
For appearance, I'm picturing something like Myria from Breath of Fire 1 and 3, who presents herself as an angelic figure:
But is really something far more monstrous, in both form and nature. (Though it's a little beyond CoH's costume creator)
To be honest, though, when I think "evil goddess", I also think Dominator (with some pool powers and eventually Psionic Mastery for defense, damage resistance and status protection). -
I've had that issue with Longbow Eagles ever since I started encountering them, which was long before Freedom. Their attack AI seems to involve shooting you from afar, coming close for an attack or two, then darting away again, then coming close again, and so on.
They're really annoying for my Brutes, because not even Taunting them makes them stay close. -
Quote:...Saucery, you say?Turns out that it's a misspelling of Saucery. The Battalion are a cuisine-based species of chefs and we'll need to learn how to use Saucery powers to nullify and subvert their abilities in addition to making our own powers spicier and more delicious to use.

I admit, I kinda like running it up to level 14 on a new character, just to get Orobouros access (by asking someone else to drop a portal), but that's about as far as it goes.
Assuming I feel like teaming at all, that is.
That said.... what everyone else said. Time to do something else -
Quote:Not that I have much to really say about them specfically, but the "leaks" so far (new power pools, new power sets, an entirely new defense/healing mechanic, and now new ATIOs) are more interesting to me than a lot of the officially-announced additions (which mostly seem to concern players who have already gotten all their Incarnate slots unlocked and pimped out).Guys, these are still WIP and we did not intend them to be seen this early. Let's not send ourselves into a spiral this weekend talking about them.
Thanks!
New Power Pools potentially affect the performance and playstyle of all of my characters of all levels, and new Power Sets mean I can realize character concepts I couldn't before, but even my two level 50s have a long way to go before they're ready to take on Tyrant (they don't even have their Alpha slot unlocked yet - and won't until I get a new job), so a new Incarnate trial and a new Incarnate slot doesn't affect them in any way.
.... man, I need to get employed so I can re-subscribe -
Weirdly, I have a freespec on a recently-made (as in, after I21) character.

..... I am disappointed that this thread is not about the most fantastic crimefighter the world... has ever known.
