Poor poor drednaught Issue 13 is going live 25th november i told you! (still betting a good 10inf on that)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mystic Dred has had another vision,he sees a noob who is asking what IO means.
[/ QUOTE ]
Any credibility i had left as soon as i made that thread didnt it
[/ QUOTE ]
We should take away your vet rewards, noob. For the rest of the life you name will be NOOB. Live with it, commit suicide, whatever you wish. But it will always be there! ALWAYS! -
The console RPG version of CoX?
The movie of CoX?
A return of the trading card collection of CoX? It was awesome!
More comics?
Yes, will we ever see them? The one I'm most exicited about is the CoX movie. I don't care if it's rubbish, as long as it's about my game, then no complaints here! -
AFAIK, that's almost clearly impossible. Please tell me if I'm wrong.
Also, what if you levelling pact buddy is a Epic and you don't have a 50? That could lead to problems. -

Well, a way around that might be to move the access area of the editor from the base entrance room to the SG Registrar in City Hall - so instead of being inside the base and working on it in "real time", you'd actually be editing a copy, while the actual base remained in its usual state until you'd clicked to apply the changes to it - and it could maybe autosave every 5 minutes or so to reduce the loss of work a computer crash might cause.
[/ QUOTE ]
Or they could just do what people have been asking for from day 1 and add an off map storage room for items.
Which i cant see being any harder than that idea.
[/ QUOTE ]
the other option of course is have the ability to return crafted items to your base items list thingy makes it a lil more fidley but means no real risk of breaking the editer because of a crash or finshing with things not reachable and the likes
one coment that did interest me tho was at the bottom of the base notes where it said when they switch back on base raids you can choose to have your base stay the way it is and not be raidable or change it so sounds like there is going to be some sort of change to how the bases are vied by the game and how raids and the likes are worked are going to be revamped just a matter of playing the waiting game and hoping its not going to be another two years till its all complete
[/ QUOTE ]
Iv just lost interest in it all Bru, they could have done something thats been asked for in this issue for bases instead of all this [censored] with salvage.
The eternal carrot/soon/next issue/ about bases has grown real stale.
[/ QUOTE ]
Posi hinted all your bases belong to us, well he has proven yes we do, so theyve made the decision to mess up bases. And PvP.
This is shaping out a really nice issue. Also, Pain Dom feels meh... /end sarcasm -
[ QUOTE ]
Well even solo the shields arent useless, you can buff phantasm with them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, Clarity and Repulsion can be used, along with Aid Other off Medicine. (I have this in both builds) Also some more info on the PPs.
1st build:
Flight: Air Superiority, Fly
Medicine: Aid Self, Aid Other
TP: Recall Friend, Teleport Foe
Stone: EVERYTHING
2nd build:
Leaping: Combat Jumping, Super Jump, Aerobatics
Medicine: Stimulant, Aid Other, Resuictiate
Primal Forces: Conserve Power, Temp Invul -
I think a lot of you are missing out a big point. The OP already posted earlier that the Tech Shield option is not only a glowmap, an animated glowmap. Shield customization was only a tiny part of the issue, and all the shield choices themselves, so I say they would be easy to implement.

Also final comments to whoever thinks there wont be no overpowering sets after these changes go through... after 5 mins testing the changes i knew what to make in Issue 13 that would make current generation Fire/EM's look weak, so did many others.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is why, in my opinion, PvP in CoX will never work as a mainstream activity. We've got so many build options that it's realitively easy for those who are inclined to use those options to make impregnably powerful PvP characters.
Most, if not all, the best PvP games balance PvP by keeping a fairly tight leash on build options. CoX's biggest strength in its PvE game is the variety of options you have to make characters that play differently, but this variety can't and doesn't translate well into a balanceable PvP game. And this will be true no matter how much tweaking they do to it.
[/ QUOTE ]
So they should just leave PvP alone. Don't try to make it "better" then. Because Castle is trying to make it "better" when it was actually alright, but now PvP is a game of who's better. It's like a fight between a normal man and the Undertaker; the man would get mauled, but that leaves the question, why would the man dare fight the undertaker? Otherwise, why would the person without the IO'ed build face the person with it? Because they want to enjoy PvP. But they cant enjoy PvP with the state it's in on test atm. Castle really needs to pull something out of the hat if the PvP changes are going to be mostly positive changes.
My 2 pence. -
Meh, I'm keeping my hopes up for Beginnings then...
But they said the 5th...it's only 40 minutes till the 8th...do we even have a winner? -

One of the problems with new people joining PVP is that they see people like yourself on here sayhing that PVP is broken with the changes, which it actually isnt, its just that you dont like it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats your point of view that its not broken its not mine and many others anyone wanting to join the pvp commuinty needs to have a point of view from both sides dont you think?
[/ QUOTE ]
As long as both points of view are stated calmly and clearly, without frenzied praise or threats to the devs

"FBI's Most Wanted: Castle"?
But seriously, Shocky has a good point. It gets tiring after a while, GG. -
[ QUOTE ]
Well, since we don't get anything at lvl 40 (except for a cossie slot, which is fine, but not enough I guess), glow maps would be a nice reward.
[/ QUOTE ]
I wanted my Talorisan related stuff right out of the bag, but you have to wait and wait for it! Please don't do the same! I want glowmaps right from when you first choose your costume.

you mean like this?
(no, seriously, I actually typed with my nose there) -
[ QUOTE ]
Well... If you want a scrapper/team build, my advice is...
From illusion everything except flash and group invis. From sonic take shields, clarity, disruption field, sonic dispersion and the obligatory sonic siphon. For PP go rock mastery, gives you +HP, a nice melee attack with stun (yes I know it has a 20ft range, low enough to be melee) and a good S/L defence armour.
[/ QUOTE ]
What build are you pointing at? I didn't take the buffs in /Sonic for the 1st build for obvious reasons (its supposted to be a damage build).
I didnt take Stone on the 2nd build because I didn't intend to have damage...already had way more than enough. The buffs will cost my end a LOT so the opportunity to get more End from Primal Forces arose and I couldn't step away. -
OK so I played around with my Ill/Sonic on test and now I have 2 builds. My 1st one is my damage build for when there's enough buffers/debuffers for me to be a semi-scrapper, and my 2nd is my buffing/debuffing build.
Basically, can you comment on these builds. Thanks.
1st one: This is all Ill/ powers except Flash, and I have a distinct lack of /Sonic powers. Siphon, Cage, Clarity, Liquefy and Repulsion is the only ones I've got. PPs are Flight, Medicine, TP and the AP is Stone.
2nd one: Once again this has all except flash, I see me using this more. Sonic powers - all except Cage. I have Leaping and Medicine, and my AP is P. Forces (+End is helpful because I'm going to be a end hog). -

anyone actually notcied you can now highlight text and copy it to whatever?!
[/ QUOTE ]
It was like that for a while, IIRC.
[/ QUOTE ]
Only on Test, not on live before.
[/ QUOTE ]
Do you mean when you click in-game text it goes white? I can't paste anything from that. There was a way on live to do it and I done it myself just can't remember how. -
[ QUOTE ]
Maybe what we want is someone to prove us wrong and that we are not as good as we think we are but all we get is people moaning about how unfair pvp is.
And what do the devs do take a system that yes had problems and turn it into a master work of rubbish.
Change is good but change like this we can do without.
[/ QUOTE ]
I didn't want to get involved with this thread, but...this post is exactly what I want to post. -

Incog = Ask some of the techie/IT guys at the Uni if they put the uni firewall on and off at times. If they do, then that is the problem.
Dust = Checked your firewall? Could be it. Unlikely though. -
The Phantoms forsees a vision...that I14 will realase at around the same time as Champions and DC Universe Online.
No, but seriously, I ain't intrested in any WotLK. Left WoW a looooooong time ago. Others would agree the game is rubbish and that won't stop it from being rubbish.
And I don't expect it to be relased the same time. IMHO, AoC was coincedence. -

Granted its missing a bit on quitting but then so is your "guide"

And that makes a difference...how? -

[ QUOTE ]
Yep. When I think of street fighting, I always think of this!
[/ QUOTE ]
if it's that, i'll say a big NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
it's a hero game, not a sissy fighting movie....
[/ QUOTE ]
Woah, you are missing out on a lot of great movies.
That movie was deep, deep, deep; it was simply amazing. One of the most engrossing films for decades. It is not sissy. It really boils the blood of both you and the actors.
The point has been made over and over sorudo, this isn't the Street Fighter set you were looking for. Brilliant game, but unfortunately, we want da American style of street fighting, where blood is spilled and bones are broken. I imagine only a small percent of the population will want the Japanese style of street fighting, with ki and chi and whatever.
Also, technically ki and chi are energy, which already exists in the game. Go figure. -

But the way the xp is shared out is not that simple is it?
The whole idea is that you give 50% of your earned xp to your partner, if you are both on the same team it means you give each other 50% of the xp earned and receive your 50% as normal and level at "normal" speed. If only one member of your pact is online then they will continue sharing xp but while not receiving xp from a partner you will level at "half" speed.
And you can quit a level pact whenever you like but will not be able to rejoin if you're higher than level 5(which is the cap for starting a level pact).
Now thats what I just picked up after 15 minutes or so of looking for level pact information. Now I'm not trying to write a guide but if I were I'd at least try looking for information first. Now If someone was seriously trying to find out some concrete information on Level Pacts I'd head over HERE where one of our Colonial Cousins has actually compiled some nice and accurate information on i13.
[/ QUOTE ]
Fair enough; this wasn't really intended to go into the big details of it all, just a basic Q&A guide while it's just been on test last night. An updated, more precise guide, will be created soon.
For now, you can either go to this thread or the linked one over in US...I guess this is more a beginner's guide to the Levelling Pact, rather than a deep, number-filled guide. -
[ QUOTE ]
If you don't know how the XP is shared between people in a pact and don't know if you can quit it, should you really be posting a guide just yet?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes. I can now confirm it's 50%.
And firmly enough, the quitting was one simple question. I'm going to check it anyway. So it will be confirmed soon enough. -
