The console RPG version of CoX?
The movie of CoX?
A return of the trading card collection of CoX? It was awesome!
More comics?

Yes, will we ever see them? The one I'm most exicited about is the CoX movie. I don't care if it's rubbish, as long as it's about my game, then no complaints here!

I thought it was "theres never a silly question" but be a little friendly, will ya? I simply wanted to know the state of them, like the RPG and the movie, ie, how development is going.

I tried to make it a fair discussion; then Cass decided to have a pop at me. Not too nice, I might say.

Well, I guess we can ignore it now and get on with the actual point of the thread...

Probably not, would need a massive control redesign.

Pretty unlikely.

No such thing as a stupid question.

Silly questions are ill thought out, run in to the ground former discussions because your bored and it's a Saturday.

IMDB has the CoH film set for 2010, and is currently "in development" which basically means it's hidden behind their wall of IMDB Pro so I cant see what's happening. I'd be very surprised if it came about to be honest, but you never know.

Considering even the Warcraft movie seems unlikely, I can't see a CoH one getting going. Plus, I suspect it would suck.

Don't all game-based movies?

Well, I don't think so, but I admit they are more likely to suck than not.

I doubt they'll do anything that the OP questioned except the Comics.

But I can get better porn online TBH.

And the film (well I saw the existing one (first one) a few times) was a very cheap Indie knock off.

Actually... the CoH movie is more likely than Warcraft.

The rights were bought a year ago by producer Tom DeSanto (Transformers, X-Men, X-Men 2, NOT the third one) who liked the humour of the Top Cow ideas and the game scripts, the whole Supers vs Aliens core plot and the actually, they're really us subplot that entails. He even sees a bit of franchise potential (clicky).

Of course, talk's just talk, but this was backed up by $1m in cold hard greenbacks. They probably could have got more, but I bet Jack just wanted to say "One MILLLIION DOLLARS...muhahahah" in a meeting. 'Cause he's a nerd. But that's ok.

Rumours that Sister Psyche was the first person cast are also unconfirmed, but pretty damn likely.

If they made it into a cartoon, I think it would be a lot easier to do because there is soooo many powers in the game that sometimes even CGI can't make. That's why theres superhero cartoons. I wouldn't mind if people were asking me "Why are you on Cartoon Network" if City of Heroes were broadcast.

Or do it like they do it in other shows, make a new episiode each week to get people excited. Saturday night please, no Sunday morning slot.

But I guess there is a very unlikely chance it's going to happen. Here's WIKIPEDIAAAAAAAAA:

In February 2008, it was announced that DeSanto has indeed begun preparations for the film. A plot summary has been released detailing that the movie itself takes place during the first Rikti War.

If we almost wait 10 months for new news on a film, then it's usually in development underworld.

The Top Cow line of comics was actually pretty good but sadly it cost the franchise more than it brought into the game and took the main devs such as Positron (Matt Miller) who wrote some of the issues - more time than he could afford to do it.

That there hasn't been more than one trade paperback gives you a clue about sales value of the comicbooks (tho I wonder why Top Cow haven't looked at a 3 volume collected hard back)

I actuall liked th comics I think the problem was that they were to linked to the game if they were to go back to somthing more like the blue king(think that was the published) where the main charichters wernt part of the game lore (at the point it was published any ways) they could then hand over righting duties to another righter and just give them guide lines to work within.

As to a movie 10 months in development isn't all that long plenty of superhero films have been in development he'll for ages and then came into the light

Cross-referencing this a la CSI with another thread, please remember that Wonder Woman has been in Development Hell with Joel Silver for over eight years now. Ten months is lightspeed in Hollyweird dev time.

Julianne Moore - who should be telling the story in flashback as an old woman.
