Perhaps allow AR blasters as well, as snipers and such.
RIP is a great idea Sprawler. About the blasters, as I've mentioned in the Shield Police thread on the roleplaying forums, the theme centers around Shield Officers but also incorporates other powered policemen, ie snipers.

No restrictions in powers, just be police. Although preferably shielded and uniformed. I think its important that players develop a sense of team ownership so everyone should feel free to do what they want with their heroes. Activity - I'm thinking we do missions whenever we're online, with whomever is online, but on a specific day of each week, we all gather for Task Forces, say Friday night?

The shield character that I was thinking of making anyway was dark melee/sheilds scrapper, and somehow I think that it would take too much RP hax to pretend to be PPD...
I put together a tank using the police uniform and nightstick think it looks cool but I think we will see a large increase ofcops on the streets

Also are these police officers just regular police who due to the amount of work they have done for the city classified them as heroes or have they all taken some sort of "Super Serum" to increase their abilities?
i have no idea what my concept toon story iea thingy will be for this toon but im still up for it will add myself to the global channel later if its already up and running
i should say now tho i run a heros and villians sg for those that dont know already so sometimes im gona be needed else where for obviouse reasons

No restrictions on offensives Bru. Like S.H.I.E.L.D the supergroup will be called Shield Police, a specially organized team of citizens trained for basic community policing, like PCSO's but with more authority and with super-powers. Thought it'd be nice to keep the backstory simple, natural and open enough for everyone.
count me in @ sindrone sounds like a cracking idea, and will heopfully level up fast with the help of a sg like this lvl 50 here i come!
Have my toon all planned out for this now, Shield/Super Strength tank. I'll keep the backstory a surprise (read - still not finalised it), but i think it fits nicely.
Done a cozzie design or 2 on test aswell. Are we going to have a uniform?
I think that would look awesome, a tank uniform, a scrapper uniform and a blaster uniform [these are the 3 types of toon i envisage]; and i am more than happy to knock up some designs - obviously there would be personal customisation on them - dont want to lose individuality after all (like personal option on shield/head/maybe even gloves).

also you could set up the sg rankings in no authority order such as the swat team with the sheild power sets, officers who would be genral heros with any powers they wanted, trp (tacticle ranged police) for the blasters like guns for sniping and such, and rms (renforcement medic squad) for healers and such. and of corse youd have your super intendent and such for sg leaders p.s mind the spelling im terrible! 
We should use the standard officer costume sets available, so we're all similar looking. On top of that, supergroup mode can keep us synchronized in colour. Here are three popular designs I've seen on test.

With issue 13 around the corner, how many of us shield lovers would be interested in a free-form superteam but based on a SWAT or PPD theme? I picture one or more teams of shield-clad officers, uniformed in costume. It would be a superb team, mainly because the shield sets compliments a phalanx play-style so well. Of course that plexi-glass riot shield coupled with a police nightstick and the new police uniform, is just so cool, en-mass!
