  1. I think this is a great idea, but I think it should be done differently the Rikti ones slightly as I do know it annoys a lot of people. Instead make the invasions last longer in that zone - say 30 mins, but of a slightly lower frequency. I also think that a jetpack instead of the rocket launcher to fight the zepplins would be just a better balance. Otherwise 20-30 people could go get them and just blast the cack out of the zepps. Although the 5th column rocket launcher as an accolade power is utter genius and I for one would enjoy taking a crack at the giant mech man.

As an extension to this, they could add one into the RWZ when this is going down so could even have another badge and making it in a coop zone means its again content for both sides, and gives an opportunity to have another crazy thing in RWZ. Imagine after completing a rikti raid then everyone going to gank the cack out of a mechman on behalf of vanguard! New content for a coop zone AND can go with the existing vanguard story arcs!
  2. Nope none whatsoever. Stuck with the widow claws. Which annoys me as I wanted the fury claws on mine.

    Lag on Union

Aye its bad - I did an ITF last night and wanted to just cry it was so bad i was literally hitting my keyboard (much to the amusement of my teammates who saw the jargon that came out).

I've also experienced crashing when relogging - 1st login fine, gfx settings even on bottom dont help. ALWAYS a relogin. I;ve worked out on average its every 1 in 3 or 4 logs I crash. Pain in the back side for using the BM! Grrrr.

The lag for me is still here and most noticeable on clicky powers like hasten and BU. Attacks aren't s bad i find but I am suffering from random rubberbanding at times too that can last 30 mins then suddenly stop. I;ve verified EVERYTHING my side as I'm an IT tech so something screwy serverside as everyone I know and team with has this across nearly all chars.

Please, please, please for the love of [insert deity of choice] sort this patch >.<
  4. Some weeks ago I released my latest comic in my ongoing UD Chronicles. This is the 2nd issue in the new story arc:

    USURPER Part 2 : Rebirth
    http://www.udsg.co.uk/UD1/UDC_Comics.html

This story focuses more on the past, present and future of the UD faithful from the other comics I've written previously and again ties in heavily to the prior (and future) works.

While I could rant for ages about the story, I'd like to tell you all a little factoid about this one as its extremely close to my heart.

Recently, as some may know, I suffered a serious problem of a collapsed lung and spent almost all of June in hospital. Naturally this was an extremely unpleasant and traumatic experience for me. This issue was written entirely whilst I was in hospital on the brink of death - twice. However, its not as depressing as it sounds.

As the name dictates this was a story chronicling the resurrection of one character and their origins (I won't say who, it'd be a spoiler). This char while not one of mine, gave me an avenue to tell a bit of that tale of my going through all of this. The other strange irony of this is that its what I discussed with that player regarding the origin ages ago as well so art and life very much intertwined here.

I'd also like to draw special attention to the dedication page in this issue as I dedicated this issue to the NHS staff who treated me and took care of me during my greatest hour of need. I may be a hardcore villain, but they are the real heroes.

Now I've done with my watery-eyed nicety, feel free to download for free and enjoy All and any feedback is also appareciated and I'm slowly working out Parts 3 & 4 now

I'd also like to thank UD once again for their help and support with this all, and being patient enough for me to release the 2nd issue about 3 months after the previous one!

    Part 3 & 4 coming soon....
  5. Blappers aren't good enough in PvP. Allllll their damoge should be unresistified.

Will Pow needs more regen as currentlee they can only solo 1 AV at a time - we wanna smack all the vindicators solo.

MMs have 2 many peties. Plezze make them go away and replace them with a big group of cats - that would be ginormagantuan.

Also delete all scrappars cos no1 cares for them. Just becoz OK devos!!! I r player! I r right cos my mummy pays my subb and I get her on u if u don't listen!

(((Was that illiterate and cretinous enough lol)))
  6. RAID 0 is highly dangerous due to its configuration. Plus raptors as good as they are won't benefit as FFM mentioned they are for people doing very high data throughput like video/audio production. It'd be safer to just have 2 drives and have one for ya installation and one to hoard ya data. I'm actually more surprised anyone uses RAID 0 due to its huge flaws. But I think sapphic's post above shows why not to have RAID 0 the best.
  7. That'd be the one hun But lets not forget the half dressed ones too, we don't wanna discriminate
  8. Really cool commissions there neko! Both are great and really work (and not just "it" lol). If I could afford it I'd get one of my own "King of Perversion" done up properly - also a tad inappropriate for this board

On a side note - after having a gander through ya faves (like I always do now on deviant) it seems ya like a particular... errrr..... "theme" like I do

EDIT: Also just thought the demon sort of reminds of Recluse on the CoV load screen as well
  9. [ QUOTE ]

Also, and I'm trying my best not to sound like a total jerk here, but can you give some source for this? Mainly the "originally" part of this. It (the etymology of "warlock") is a thing we've talked about with friends now and then and if you have some source for the demon origin, it would be nice to hear about it..

    [/ QUOTE ]

Old English waerloga (this is spelt as close as poss - forums wont allow the characters);a weak masculine (="traitor, enemy, devil, etc.")

    Also:
Warlocks are, among historic Christian traditions, said to be the male equivalent of witches (usually in the pejorative sense of Europe's Middle Ages)

Above info shamelessly ripped from wikipedia

Emphasis here being traditional Christian definitions. Christianity warped and corrupted many old words from Western Europe (especially the UK) along the course of the centuries to suit the church and move people closer to it (the witch trials are a prime example).

A lot of practitioners of witchcraft consider the term warlock as a negative one used for witches that have dishonored themselves or betrayed their coven. Hence a greater leaning to the ancient meaning of oathbreaker. I could also list a large number of books on my shelf behind me regarding the words origins as the term its commonly used for today by the mainstream - which currently its still Judaeo-Christian but I'm half asleep lol

EDIT more info available here also:

It does seem a tad daft no ouro poral for cimerora time travel,

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you think its daft you havn't been reading the mission text and clues.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And you didn't read the rest of that sentence
  11. Actually warlock is a term for a scottish demon originally. And witches (along with wizards, sorcerers etc) can be both male and female. I'm proof of that as in RL I'm a spirtualist and practice a form of traditional witchcraft (closest term is wiccan but thats too specific for what I do, think and practice) and lets check... yep still a bloke so I'd say that wizard/witch/sorcerer is not gender specific - its just our cultural stereotyping of them that makes it so.

Anywayyyyyyyyy back to the actual topic. It does seem a tad daft no ouro poral for cimerora time travel, but I'd say its all part of the "coming storm" plot line so makes sense there may be more than one faction twisting time for their respective ends.
  12. An interesting frankenslotted design here. Which is something I do on all my doms lol

And yes I do think TS needs changing slot wise as my plant/elec is almost 38 now and I find even with no KBs slotted, TS will knock most things flying in pve already making ya aoes a tad less effective. I'd recommend slotting stun sets rather than the KBs so it'll stack really nicely with flashfire. Of course I can see ya went that way for the KB protect (I slotted energy torrent on my corr not that differently tbh) from the KB set, but the stun will do you more favours later on I think. Also fire imps tend to be a tad squishy so something like the pet global res IO would do them real wonders.

Also for reference, the build won't be too expensive - aside from the crushing impacts and posi blasts.

And maybe this is all part of a secret agenda by GG to take over paragon by promoting themselves to be too nice and release evil animated hair monsters all over! Maybe this is a future invasion we aint heard about yet....
  14. Its worth noting that many of the arguements hear were voiced at i12s launch. The VEAT afaik was made the way it is in part due to feedback from people regarding the HEAT being lacklustre in most peoples eyes. The gimmick of the HEAT is its switching forms to gain different powers, which is a genius concept but has not been 100% effectively deployed. What I reckon they should do to bring them a bit more up is slightly modify the simple fact that passive buffs are deactivated during other forms. This simple buff would mean that theres a much wider scope for their effectiveness across the board.

Now regarding the mezs knock off ya shields - same applies for VEATs guys - its just most VEATs take 2-3 passive shield powers (most cases 1 for def, 2 for res) so they always work. When mez'd ya lose everything else buff wise - dunno where people get the idea this isn't the case from. Plus ya can't really compare the 2 directly as they both work and have powers that aren't even remotely similar. But, I do think the HEATs needed a change a good long while.

Its also worth noting that heroes have been somewhat heavily favoured on the epics front for a tad long as the HEATs have been around for a substantially long time, and now the VEATs are here 5mins everyones moaning the HEAT isn't as good as they think the VEATs are. Each VEAT has plenty of substantial flaws.

I would also think it'd be a good idea to keep the HEAT inherent as it is but add a small buff to it to make them at least maybe able to solo (its also worth remembering some ATs are designed to not be great solo - although having an Epic like that is a daft idea imo). Something like 5% HP would suffice, as along with the ability to use passive buffs like Health and Stamina, they'd be somewhat more effective. Plus also means the slotting of the forms themselves can be more usefully chosen. Also regarding pvp - 1 of my toughest opponents ever was a WS so I wouldn't say they are all that bad. Plus the new changes I've suggested would make them that bit more appealing.

  16. Wormhole
Too hilarious to not have, plus if anyone else is there I can happily just make them dissapear into the ocean. Plus can wormhole passing boats or planes to rescue me. Of course, the stun may cause some dangerous plane crash. Maybe just boats - planes for recreational use only.

    Smoke Grenade
    I am very, very sneaky.

    Thunderstrike
Mongy smash - wahhhh! Who's king of the jungle now?

    Mind Link
To be the popular and flashy psychic.

    Propel
Lets face it - the uses of this power on a desert island are immense. I'm bored - pool table. I'm thirsty - beertaps. I'm casually going insane and need something to talk to - big scary concrete gargoyle. See its wicked. Plus whamming down monkeys from trees with burnt-out cars would be fun.

    Nova
Look at the pretty lights - woooooooom! If this island is the one from lost - some polar bear is in for a world of hurt.

    Spirit Tree
Because we all know what the green emanations and leaves on this thing REALLY are. If I'm trapped with sun, sea and sand - I'm gonna party. Time to use propel and start building a pub *wooooooooooosh*.... awww man got a dirty urinal already.

Anyway... I'm so very psyched about this - the halloween event in 2006 was my first CoV event at all and I loved it and this year will beat both prior ones!!!

    Wohoo!
  18. The build above looks extremely solid (not to mention extremely expensive). However theres one thing I would change - ditch veng for confuse. By your design it'd appear to be a pvp fort and the new changes to confuse would make that an extremely useful tool to have to hand.
  19. Well I work in IT and Vista makes me wanna cry daily - its one of the 4 horrors of IT:

    Vista;
    Wireless Networking;
People using their laptops like an ashtray, dropping it, then lying about it; and
    A shortage of caffeine.
  20. First test is to establish if its a HD that wasn't screwed in the first place. Power off system and open the case - reseat ALL the cables internally - not just the HD.

It may now just work, if not then I'd recommend running a utility to check the state of ya HD. You can download a great utility full CD from here: http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/

Try a few of the tools on there to verify the HD itself aint botched.
  21. I am an IT engineer and theres only 2 ways you can restore to factory default.

1st is to do an archive and install as suggested - best method by far. 2ns - ff you have OSX Leopard 10.5 (you can find this out via the Apple Menu>About this Mac) and have setup backups using Time Machine you can restore to a much earlier time using that.

However, if OSX itself works fine then the best method would be to use the BootCamp utility and use that to restore ya partition back to one single HFS+ partition. Once thats done can then repartition and reinstall Windows.

Also if the numtpies of Apple haven't suggested it - you can reset your Power Management Unit (PMU). To do this power off the system, remove the PSU, then remove the battery. Turn the laptop back over with both not attached and hold the power button for 5 secs. Once done reconnect battery and PSU and turn on. Let it boot into OSX after doing this. I'd recommend trying this even if ya ain't before as it can solve many niggles with Mac systems for OSX and Windows.

Its also worth noting that if you have OSX Tiger the versions of BootCamp are only betas as the full release is a Leopard exclusive.

If the above is not possible then rather than fork out for MacBook disks, buy a copy of OSX Leopard and gain full functionality and features. It'll run even on the oldest MacBook too.

For reference I am running on a 1st gen MacBook Pro with Leopard and have had it BootCamped since I orignally had Tiger and have never had any problems. Aside from Windows XP being pants - but thank god I don't have Vista lol

Hope some of that helps in some way.

    Healer Advice

Ok I'll add my 2 peneth worth here as I myself just made a healbot out of a rad. The below is a strictly team spec but can solo if a bit slowly now due to the lesser ranged attack chain - you could easily remove tp and team tp for something like power bolt and dark embrace from ghost widow. This also includes the IOs I'm using as well.

    OMG NERF AHOY

I've had a good read of that thread and I can honestly say I think the propsed solutions are [censored]. The main one Castle is pitching there is about having better damage out of domination and then activating domi to purposefully lower your own damage to have the fantastic controls seems so unbelievably rubbish. And the whole idea of making it like containment for trollers makes me want to scream. Domi in its current form is one of those things that makes the AT so appealing.

Now for reference, I do have a mind/fire close to permadom, and he has decent dmg outout even with out domi. Now consider my fave of them all my gravity/thorns. He's designed with less overall dmg but insane controls. Now this char would benefit from the "normal mode" dmg he talks about, and the domi mode would make his controls extreme but his overall effectiveness would sincerly drop as doms have to be opportunistic in their attacking foes while mez'd so in order for him to be most effective he'll have less overall dmg. And the fact domi lasts 90 secs means I could easily nerf my own dmg at a very wrong moment. While a granite uses their tier 9 to trade dmg for uber mitigation, swapping dmg for control is a tad different as the dom lacks any significant defenses/HP in order to offset this. Recently I also made a plant/elec dom as well that I've thoroughly enjoyed so far because he is quite dmg oriented. However, being the dom that he is having to choose between control and dmg kind of destroys him as its the balance of the 2 in the way domi works currently that makes him good. If they take the elements away, he'll probably be ruined as he needs the great control in order to actually do the dmg in the 1st place.

Now the one thing I do think is a resaonable change is to hard code domi to not stack. Having domi perma is extraordinarily hard, time consuimg, expensie aand a labour of love to achieve on this the most quirky of ATs. However, being able to actually have domi stack on itself is unfair. While I believe permadom should be left alone, I believe that simply changing it so that it cannot stack on itself and reactivating domi merely keeps it going.

Oh and to the comment by Cognito - they already have those mate, they are called Fortunata.
