Quote:This would be a good idea and I have no idea why they remain separated. So they are moving the European servers to the United States, could anyone more technically minded than myself tell me what the implications are?
I don't get these devs at all. They split up heroes and villain players, they split the global players....just odd.
CoX seems to be a game of getting your cake and then not being able to eat it too. -
Quote:They published sub. numbers?Times like these makes me wish they still published subscriber numbers.
Yeah, it is tough to get a good sense of what Q3 really means at this point. I also find it odd because the player population seems to be at its highest in almost 3 years but the Q3 numbers don't necessarily say that. Odd. -
Quote:Name: Unknown Heroes
Recruiting: We are ALWAYS recruiting and trying to find the "Unknown" talent from all over CoH.
LOL @ RP: Our Main Goal is to Find, Train and Retain players and teach them fundamental game mechanics, team building skills & leadership among all other things. We will never turn RP'rs away, but usually turn them into gaming addicts rather than help thier RP cravings. ***On a sidenote I find it insulting that you would insinuate that an SG has to even state thier RP activity or Lack There of so you can push your goal of making NON RP'rs unwelcome***, we are a Haven for NON RP'rs all around, and many wonderful players enjoy knowing that they have a place to get away from the wakos.
PvP Level: We do Regular PvP Raids, and a Yearly PvP "Royal Rumble" for our SG members only. The winner usually wins 1-200 Million Dollars + a Random Drop of thier choice, & whatever everyone throws in the "Pot" for the winner.
Theme/Concept: As Previously stated, our main goal is to provide an SG that is focused to find unknown talent from throughout CoH. Our secondary goals after we have found you is to mold you into better players and hopefully leaders so you can help train new players and give them the foundation to build a better tomorrow for other new and unknown players.
Activity: Our SG has broken into the Top 100 SG list on this server in under 3 mo's. Our other 5 Divisions comprise our 6 Division Coalition. We have 1 "Retirement" division to storehouse our 50's and plan on opening up 1 more active division this month and 1 more "Retirement" division to help us compliment our warehouse of awesome toons!!! This will bring us up to 8 divisions soon. We provide Teamspeak, a Website and Forums for all members while retaining a Global Channel for all Veteran Members that have shown the capacity to help us mold new players into great leaders.
Requiremens For Membership: Being able to breath, Sit Upright & Follow our Policies and Procedures. We also encourage folks to use Teamspeak whenever possible, it helps to keep everyone together and spread information faster while breeding comraderie.
Leadership: @EverStryke
URL: www.unknownheroes.net
Coalitions: We do not coalition with anyone, EVER!!!
Other Details: Our system is unique, and our objective is to turn you into a player who does not need an SG, but you stay in UH because you WANT to. We expect you to "Pay it Forward" whenever possible and always help SG before the outside community. Teamwork breeds loyalty.
Being a part of this SG made me explore other servers.... -
Quote:Same quarter to quarter numbers.
3QY09 - 5471 million won = $4.40 million US (3QY09 average exchange rate 1243.32370 Korean won to $1 US)
2QY10 - 3491 million won = $2.99 million US (2QY10 average exchange rate 1167.69275 Korean won to $1 US)
3QY10 - 5709 million won = $4.81 million US (3QY10 average exchange rate 1187.31793 Korean won to $1 US)
So the quarter is up year to year. I guess Going Rogue did well.
For giggles 3QY08 was 6193 million won which was equal to $5.81 million with the average exchange rate being 1066.12848 KWN to 1 USD.
As for Aion, when it first came out in Asia, NCSoft year to year sales doubled for that quarter and profits were up over 400%. Aion was almost as big as Lineage I and II combined that quarter (4QY09).
Edit: Historical conversion rates found at Oanda.
Good break down. I am glad to see CoX improve but they only did a bit better than last year around the same time (not bad but you would figure GR should have done better for them).
I think the 4Q will also be quite telling. Stay tuned, true believers! -

9. we will be post more on that later
8.you will be suprised when its released
7.we are currently looking into that
6. sorry the game engine does not support that
5. I agree, but that is not my call to make
4. we currently do not have the resources to do that.
3.we looked at that but it was put on a back burner
2.There are no plans to make that change at this time
1.We looked at it and decided it needed a balance
Read the list save yourself a trip
What about: SOON (tm) -
Hey do these capes also translate over to the OVER THE SHOULDER capes? I really hope so!

Quote:I have to agree with most of this. GR uses the same old offices, warehouses and hospitals. Studio 55 even looks a lot like Pocket D; doesn't make sense that an upscale club in Cole's town looks like a secret rave location.Although Johnny Butane has a very negative view on GR, he does have a point. I love the expansion, but a lot of it feels a bit rushed.
I remember saying during beta that having the Paragon City warehouses in Praetoria was really a huge disappointment. The same goes for cars that look like they're from the 60s and not from a different dimension...
It's almost cruel to look at the amazing concept art that was developped and compare it to what we got.
I think some of that concept art is great. It is a departure from the CoH style and I am all for it. Hopefully this stuff makes it into the game at some point. Pandora looks way cooler than Des so maybe she can make it into the game.
I am more than happy to see these zones (space stations) added by way of epic TFs. We have so many zones already.
Anyway, nice find by the OP. Maybe those costume pieces will come in future issues. -

Quote:To each their own. Every person has a right to opt in or out and their opinions aren't any less valid. To those complaining about there being "only" 15 costume parts with this pack, take a look at these numbers.
Mutant pack: 15 parts (6 bioluminescent, 9 organic armor)
Magic: 21+ (21 female witch counting multiple versions of bolero and witch tobottom/gloves, couldn't check male/huge at the moment)
Mac (Valkyrie): 18 (male/female/huge are all the same I believe)
Tech: 15
Natural: 18 (mostly Warrior parts and variants of)
Don't have any of the other packs to check those. Also didn't count the GR sets.
15 isn't abnormal, on the low end but not like it hasn't been done before. Also many of these parts can be tough to mix and match with other sets, but with the Origins pack we're getting 15 pieces that can go with nearly anything. The only thing this pack is missing is a temp power but I for one will forgive that because of the sheer number of combinations that these parts will be useful on, unlike a temp power that seems virtually useless...Shadowy Presence.
Also, it seems you conveniently forgot to note the powers in the other packs. Ninja Run is worth the $10 and the other powers are kinda cool too.
This pack is very light and I don't know if I want to get it. I have to see the stuff in game first. I really don't think I want this pack unless the looks of the pieces overwhelm me when I see them in game. This pack is a bit too light for me. Maybe if there were a few more looks and options.
Maybe I missed it, but can someone tell me if the auras have the 'combat' option like some of the other purchased auras? That might sway me to buy this bad boy. -
I'm hoping we get the Council Galaxy collars option.
I also really hope any future boosters are of higher quality and some original ideas; you can really tell there seems to be some re-hashing of old costumes. That is getting a little tiresome (vangaurd, enforcer, valkyrie all seem to be influenced from each other and this is a small example). -
I am on some global channels on Virtue but most are full. Now that the Devs added yet another area where we are isolated (for now) in Praetoria, it is tough for new players to find teams and groups. Also, for some reason, the Devs did not put in a supergroup type ability in Praetoria so you can't get organized that way. It is really too bad because this game has way too many zones and it can be tough to find people to play with especially if you are new.
So, is there any system in the works to improve our ability to find others to team with? Maybe a Dev created LFT channel on each server with a large capacity? I know we have some systems in place and they are decent but this area can use a bit of improvement. -
Ok well maybe a new costume set for the toon that dings 50?
Maybe a new chest and cape emblem/logo?
Something additional should be granted -
Draconian and a step backwards in basic free speech. What an absolute absurd rule. Whoever came up with it should be fired. Can't name anything else other than the game. Yeah. Good one.
I also find this comical since we don't know much about what is coming down the pipe for this game. Essentially we can all discuss and ask for things that never come out. We rarely get any replies regarding requests (Noble Savage is the rare exception - he is great at talking to the customer). We don't have any idea of what features we can expect down the road or where this game is heading in the next year or so. -
-
Isn't it time to change this tired, old event? It's ok and all but yeah...
-
I would hope the next bunch of boosters would be better than the last several. The Party Pack was just a rip off. This new one does not look good and there isn't enough in it to justify a $10 price.
The previous ones were fairly light. The Science pack was awful. The ninja pack was of poor quality but the ninja run is awesome.
I don't even think they need the same type of theme in the future. Get some good costume sets together and call it something fitting or whatever. It'd be nice to get a well done booster sometime soon. The last two just feel way too much like cash grabs. -
Too much money for some very marginal features IMO. Will be passing yet again. The CoX team must be hard up for cash to charge for such items.
-
-
I hope they stay away from adding too many zones. We have way too many now.
Instead of making new zones, make some epic TFs/SFs with completely unique maps and experiences. -
It's funny I was kinda thinking the same. It could be like a zone event. If you're KOed in certain areas you don't do to the hospital but awake in an arena where you are made to fight for your freedom. Just a random 1 on 1 thing with some cool NPCs.
-
The city feels way too generic. Not enough unique structures or looks. Many buildings are just odd looking and not too realistically put together (funny angles).
Also, the constant statues of supers is just too too much. Reduce them. They look tacky and loose their significance if there's one of every block type thing.
I think the office mission maps are horrible. Many of the offices aren't even logically made. Who has such odd offices. They are terrible.
I don't mind the war walls and don't care if they stay up forever.
Hopefully there is some revamping of the zones but I hope the devs are making this a low priority. I spend most of my time in missions so unique mission maps are the way to go. -
I like the noted NPC items. They'd be great. However, I'd prefer new stuff. New tech/manga stuff.
Actually, anything costume would be great. -
Quote:It's just you.Is it just me, or is Ghost Falcon attempting to shove Inherent Stamina down everone's throat any time it's brought up?
Not a very smart move.
Why is this just a big deal. Fitness is inherent and no extra slots. What's the problem? This move is a good one. -
Quote:I hope a red name comes in here and clarifies if we're getting that set or not. Seems like everyone is saying we are but I never heard the panel say that.To my knowledge they never specified that we'd get that specific set, nor any other specific set. Nor that they'd be free in issues or whether we'd have to pony up extra ( most likely since it's been a year since the last free pieces other than animating tails). There was a lot of excitement when npc costumes were originally mentioned to be coming to us, and now the stipulations are coming out. I was already disappointed at what we got for Paragon Police pieces, I really wanted the uniform and the combo chest/shoulder piece with a badge in it. The first thing I look for in each expansion/issue (and many others, I'm sure) are the costume pieces. Any issue without them is a disappointment to me, we only get the auras as a concession due to them leaking out early.
