You're not alone, but nobody has any sweet clue as to why.

    Time to 50

Around 80 hours. Usually it takes me about 120 to 160.
  3. Thanks for explaining how to determine recharge needed for a chain and pointing out that Mids can take care of the wacky extra time.

As for the chains endurance cost - yeah, its insane. I net 3 recovery and two perf shifter procs over toggles and end up gasping for blues as it is after a few minutes against a hard target. I'm gathering components to try out Ageless, since currently I use Barrier for the hell of it rather than out of any real pressing need.
  4. Hmm. I've got around 230 now. Difficult without sacking some of my defense bonuses for recharge bonuses, but perhaps doable. Thanks.
  5. Seismic Smash - Stone Fist - Gloom - Stone Fist - Heavy Mallet

I believe that chain is the best single target DPS chain stone melee is capable of?

With a t3 spiritual running hasten and 40% or so global recharge I've got a gap after heavy mallet - enough to throw in another stone fist. While doing so certainly keeps the glorious screen shake going, I want to try and close that gap.

Waking in the middle of the night and spending a moment admiring how peaceful and beautiful your girlfriend/boyfriend/whatever looks asleep, smiling, and going back to sleep yourself can be a very heart warming thing.

Breaking in and standing there not so much. In fact the police here in Halifax are after a few guys who are doing just that. Somehow I doubt it would be ok even if they could sparkle in the sun.
  7. I rechecked the numbers myself and got the same to hit percentage as you. I think the anomalous 50+% I got that time may have been them actually striking my corpse on the way to the floor, since there was no damage done - which I'd dismissed as being lost in the combat spam.

I've still had more defeats doing 24-25 than I had from 1 to 23. To me that's too many to be luck but since most of them come during the alpha strike ('what, did I forget to use my lucks?') you might be on to something with the lucky sweeping strikes.
  8. If it helps it's usually the meteorfists that get the kill shot. I don't know if their powers are any different than the others.
  9. Tank O'Riley

    Origin: Magic (mutant in life)

    Affiliations: The Weapons Union

    Archetype: Brute!

Powersets: Stone Melee/Willpower, Leaping, Fighting, Soul Mastery

    Height: 8'2

Weight: 640 in his standard clothes. 420 in a suit.

    Eyes: Nope

    Hair: Nope

Distinguishing Marks: Zombie, bones showing on his left hand, claws, a constant cloud of flies attracted to his rotting stench, said rotting stench.

Brief Summary: A very minor mutant from the 30s, possessing limited enhanced strength and recuperative abilities, Tank sought to break free from the dead end life as a boxer and carnival sideshow exhibit by being a mob enforcer. For his efforts he was gunned down and tossed unceremoniously in an unmarked grave.

Decades later the Banished Pantheon reanimated him as a Dried Husk and used him to assist in the robbery of a magical helmet of great power. When he seized the helmet his will and consciousness returned to him. Placing it on his head the artifact bound itself to him, strengthening both the enchantments used to raise him and amplifying the abilities he had in life to an incredible degree.

    Screen Shot:

  10. Checking the combat log after my last face plant they have a 57% chance of hitting a 50% defense for some odd reason all of the sudden. That would do it.
  11. Arc 503858 is very nice... hit level 22 and started faceplanting like crazy, though. I'm not sure why. My normal strategy was to pop 5 small purples, hit the first spawn, pop insps as they dropped, then popped the other 5 (come in with 10) and hit the second boss. It worked wonderfully... and then it didn't. Kind of odd.
  12. Maintaining the status quo. I love the Incarnate trials. If it weren't for them, I'd go premium.
  13. Dracula himself has no problems moving around in the sunlight in Bram Stoker's Dracula. On more than one occassion in the novel he's seen moving around in London in the afternoon.

    He doesn't sparkle, though,

Not sure where the whole 'vampires die in the sunlight' thing comes from in literature, actually.
  14. English has never met a word it hasn't wanted to truncheon, drag into an alley, and steal the wallet from.
  15. You're right. The character generator doesn't lend itself to faithfully reproducing a child to many people's complaints. That said by changing the scales around and using the baggy top you can get close enough to get your intent across. Not that you would need to in the particular case I was referring to, as the moron was going on about being losing her parents when she was a baby in the first rikti war, being abducted to the rogue isles, and ... well... it went downhill from there fast enough to be my *only* non-spam tattle in all the years I've been playing. My first thought was 'android' not 'child', so I made the mistake of reading the bio.

At least the post-tattle retcon had to change that aspect of the bio a little. Though since I haven't seen the character show up on my server friend list for more than a year (best way to keep track of people I dislike) I have hopes the user matured and realized the errors of his ways. Though they probably just found a game that could better give them what they wanted. Best case scenario they ended up on 'to catch a predator'.

Sadly, yes. Which I guess is better than playing her as a promiscuous actual 8 year old... but... not really.

I've seen several 'rpers' put their own interpretation on the legal age in DJ Zero's dimension.

    And reported them.
  18. It's worth it if you can find it/afford it without any effort. It's not worth specifically targetting with your precious play time.
  19. Light RP. Every character has a story and personality traits I adhere to but I'm not about to spend all my time putting brackets around everything on a team or a task force that is not being RP'd, or in any non-rp channel by default.

(I used to, but the fact even most of the RP mission teams I've been on consist of nothing but bracketed ooc comments dampened that enthusiasm years ago: Remove the bracketed comments from the chatlog and the team would put a mime brigade to shame.)
  20. Both Regen and WP's self rezzes need at least a few seconds of untouchable. Let me at least finish the standing up animation before refaceplanting!

(I click revive and moment of glory. It works at least sometimes, mostly thanks to my spiritual alpha pushing the amount of health I revive with up).
  21. If you want to change things up you can always simply... you know... not farm.

Finding a different kind of farmer doesn't really change things up. It just makes you slower at farming.
  22. Yes. It does. Especially against even con enemies.

Darkest Night is the difference between living comfortably at x3 with my dark/dark brute and x8. That's pretty substantial.

Another benefit is that it allows more wiggle room in the the build. My build posted has a native 45% smash/lethal defense so I don't have it. Fiery-Enforcers build only has 32% smash/lethal but has darkest night. Against even level mobs his will have superior survivability because the -to hit pushes ALL his defenses up effectively, surpassing mine. To say nothing off blunting the damage that does hit him because of the -toDamage. By not having to scrimp and save every set bonus into smash/lethal defense he has room to slot about 65% more global recharge.

As for endurance cost - well, as a ss/fire you're only going to have to pay it for a few seconds.
  23. 1) We don't know. NOT issue 21.
    2) As above.
  24. Softcapped smash/lethal defense and knowing when to hop out to let the debuffs wear off will get you a long way on the ITF regardless of AT.

Annihilating entire spawns in seconds will get you the rest of the way.

I'll post my SS/Fire. It sucks compared to most of these other 'gods' but it has no problem at all running off and soloing the towers after Rommie is down.

Elec has the strongest resistances in the game. It was largely considered the strongest brute armor set in the game back when there were ONLY SOs precisely because of how it handled late game contest (psi resistance, energy drain resistance, capped energy resistance, 40% lethal resistance - 60% with tough). Slapping on tough and aid self fixed its only real weaknesses. Granted, it loses some of this when transferred to scrappers (the energy resist cap, the drain resistance effectiveness).

I've re-evaluated my one complaint about regen.

My new complaint is you have to be good at it to match survivability with several other armor sets that you merely need to be competent with (and one or two that you merely need to not be asleep at the keyboard.)

Since it arguably is the set that requires the most player skill it should provide the most reward - survivability. Otherwise, besides 'liking a challenge' (which is a poor mechanical reason), why not play one of those other sets?
