Recharge needed for this chain?
+279% recharge in Seismic Smash
Hmm. I've got around 230 now. Difficult without sacking some of my defense bonuses for recharge bonuses, but perhaps doable. Thanks.

You can calculate this for yourself.
A power doesn't start to recharge until it finishes animating. So, the amount of time a power has to recharge to do a chain seamlessly is the sum of the animation times of the other attacks in the chain. If an attack is used more than once in a chain, it is the shortest sum of animation times between using that attack. So, to find out how fast Seismic Smash has to recharge, add up the animation times for Stone Fist, Gloom, Stone Fist again, and Heavy Mallet. Be sure to use Arcanatime for an accurate result. It can be turned on in Mids options.
Now, you probably want to convert that recharge time into a recharge bonus. Take the base recharge of a power and divide it by the desired recharge time, then subtract the base of 1. That will give you the total recharge bonus required to make that power recharge in the required time.
Do those calculations for all of your powers just to be sure that you get enough recharge bonus in each one. Sometimes you will find that you don't need any slotted recharge bonus in a certain power because you have enough from Hasten and set bonuses.
Some things to keep in mind:
Powers can not benefit from more than 400% recharge bonus, so some attack chains are not possible. Most builds only achieve around 270% recharge bonus for perma-Hasten. The recharge bonus includes slotting as well as set bonuses and buffs like Hasten or Speed Boost.
Also, some generic tips for +recharge:
Spiritual Alpha T4 is "about" 32-ish percent "global" recharge. OMG, worth it.
Five purple sets is +50 percent global recharge. Fitting in five requires typically two melee attacks, two ranged attacks, and a hold of some sort, as well as 20 slots.
Five LoTG procs is +37.5 percent global recharge, and is a DIFFERENT 7.5 percent bonus than set bonuses, so you can then get:
Five, 7.5 percent set bonuses is +37.5 percent global recharge.
Hasten is 70 percent global recharge, but as noted, requires 275 percent global recharge, including itself, to be permanent.
Super Reflexes and Electric Armor (off the top of my head) get +20 percent global recharge. Maybe other sets do too?
Don't forget to look for 'double duty' sets, IE, ones with +recharge and +defenses, since that's the stuff most folks are looking for. Also, +rech +hp sets are darn useful.
In Mids there is a 'set bonus finder' which will find any bonus you'd care to.
It Is Very Nice.

Unfortunately being able to go spiritual is highly dependent on secondary.
That chain is something like 5+ EPS with 30 or 40% End Rdx Slotting.

Thanks for explaining how to determine recharge needed for a chain and pointing out that Mids can take care of the wacky extra time.
As for the chains endurance cost - yeah, its insane. I net 3 recovery and two perf shifter procs over toggles and end up gasping for blues as it is after a few minutes against a hard target. I'm gathering components to try out Ageless, since currently I use Barrier for the hell of it rather than out of any real pressing need.

Ageless is great for a build like that. Capped recovery for the win.
Also, to add to Mauk's list:
/EA will soon have a scaling +rech bonus.
Stone/ should be able to take the FF proc, um, somewhere? Maybe not in an AoE you are using frequently enough to be worth it though?
hmm I thought stone mallet and heavy mallet work out to be almost the same dps ya ? In that case stone mallet would possibly be better for you ?
I am an ebil markeeter and will steal your moneiz ...correction stole your moneiz. I support keeping the poor down because it is impossible to make moneiz in this game.

As an update, I pulled this off on my sm/elec brute.
So much for 'unlimited endurance'. Even she probably needs Ageless. Fairly often I'm spending the 'gap' I closed in the chain desperately using power sink every time it's up.

There always are. I crammed as much defense in as I could after the recharge. Gloom, Fault, and Tremor were all scheduled for purple sets but with the t4 spiritual alpha the recharge sets they had appear to be good enough. Which is fine, since it would take me a few months to gather the inf needed for them otherwise.

Seismic Smash - Stone Fist - Gloom - Stone Fist - Heavy Mallet
I believe that chain is the best single target DPS chain stone melee is capable of?
With a t3 spiritual running hasten and 40% or so global recharge I've got a gap after heavy mallet - enough to throw in another stone fist. While doing so certainly keeps the glorious screen shake going, I want to try and close that gap.
