  1. Not sure which version you need, for that fix, but older drivers are listed at nvidia's site. http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us
Just go back to one or two previous versions, install one and see if your problem goes away.

After selecting your OS, and card, etc, in the "Recommended/Beta:" drop down menu, choose "all", to see the drivers listed.

And some versions for Windows XP/2000 are listed at,
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp-2k_archive.html

Guru3d.com has some older drivers archived as well I think.
  2. I think that GPU is kinda at the low end for runnin high ultra mode settings?
When you mentioned you reduced settings did you try turning these off?
    Ambient Occlusion: High quality
    Occlusion Strength: Strong

The game engine is fairly robust and can cause some heat issues as well, and some ASUS boards have had north bridge heat issues that might be affecting your setup. Mine was running pretty hot and added a "spot cool" fan helped alot.

Monitor the gpu heat temps as well. These can help with that.

  3. Once ya get it launched, have fun! Don't worry about grinding, Ive played over 6 yrs and didn 't even hit my first lvl 50 till after about 5 yrs. Lots of different power combo/toons to play with. Just have fun
  4. Have you guys/gals tried going to older drivers. You might try rolling back a couple releases and give that a go, using a driver cleaner too.

Also try it with ambient occlusion completly off, and or, loading in safe mode.

You may want to post in individual threads with full system specs, os, etc.

    CoreFTP sucks

    Have ya tried, http://filezilla-project.org/
Havn't myself, but usually gets good marks.
  6. Some discussion on guru3d.com on some of the latest drivers, with some causing heat issues/black screens, and problems while using anything above 4XAA.
    Just two things to consider.

I recall having issues with updating/saving the graphics in game, (shadows mainly), after the issue 9 release.

  7. Support will add it to your toon if you send a petition. They've had to add the power to a couple of my toons, even one that I didn't get it on after I made sure I wasn't teamed. Dunno whats was up with that. A fix would be nice.
  8. On a 460 GTX here, I7 920 oc to 3.0, 9 GB ram, Win 7. I'm runnin 200 detail, all other on ultra, cept performance on ambient occlusion settings. I rarely get less than 30 FPS in the game, incl while runnin in Pratoria. Only an 18 in monitor here, so lil lower resolution however.

I know je saist knows his radeon/amd cards, (and others for that matter), but I still their lackin a bit in driver support myself. GL with your decision.
  9. Grats on your first post! Kinda an opened question, but with my I7 920 oc to 3.0, 9 gb ram, windows 7, 460 GTX Nvidia, 18 in. monitor, broadband connection, hardly ever get less than 30 FPS in any zone. Large raids can bring some lag due to network/server latency but no crashes here. BTW, runnin with occlusion settings at high performance, as it seems to affect FPS the most.
  10. Seems decent enough for a prebuilt. I'm runnin the I7 920 OC to 3.0 with a GTX 460 768, all eye candy at ultra, cept Occlusion is kept off, or very low, over 30 FPS in most areas. Here is a review on that processor with graphs vs others. http://www.anandtech.com/show/2832/16

Looks they've had some power supply issues on some machines but other than that seems ok. The 1156 socket is going to be a little less "future" proof being an older platform.
  11. Looks like your makin some progress, cool. Windows will load a generic vid driver on startup, which is fine, what you don't want is it tryin to find a driver off the 'net. By keeping the computer disconnected from the internet, YOU then choose the driver you want to install.

Some "extra" USB ports on systems, that aren't directly attached to the motherboard, can be underpowered at times. This might be your main issue. Don't know if your running anything off that same port as your wireless adapter? If you have to run the adapter, I would try to keep it on a seperate motherboard attached USB, (usually on the back of the computer) with nothing else drawing power off that USB port.

If your able, always connecting directly to your modem, bypassing routers, etc., taking them out of the equation can help find a connection issue.
  12. Yep, CCleaner is a great program. When you said, "Windows 7 reinstalled the drivers" do you mean Windows is connecting to the internet to download and install? You don't want that to happen, so disconnect from the net before you start the process.
I would try some older drivers as well, maybe back a couple updates.

One more thing, looks like you may be using a USB hub. If so, take that out of the equation if ya can and also check your event logs for any conflicts/problems. Reading event logs lil difficult at times, but look on the 'net for some help there on the process involved.

Do you recall any program or change you made in the system you did back in Oct that maybe causing the problem, and can you restore back before that time?
  13. I think I would try to fix that video driver issue first. Those may be corrupted and causing issues if the OS isn't working correctly with newer drivers.

  14. That link was bad, was it this one? http://reviews.cnet.com/desktops/hp-...-33138831.html

Anywho, you might take a look at some options people did to it listed on newegg at, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16883109018
    If its the same system?

Most any newer graphics card will need more power, Scotty. Ram can help with loading screens for faster beaming.
  15. I wasn't aware of this issue with this reward, and thought some others may wanna know about it. Seems if your teamed while claiming the reward it doesn't show up. Support responded and told me,

"Please be aware that there is a known issue associated with claiming this power from the 78-month Veteran Reward badge when a character is on a team. If you would like other characters on your account to receive this power, please be sure not to be on a team when claiming it."

They did take care of me and gave the toon the reward. Happy New Year!
  16. So what are your frames in other parts of the world? I would think that setup would run most areas at max settings. You might try turnin occlusion settings completly off and maybe roll back to an older driver. Check and see if anyone else if having problems with that driver/card combo on guru3d.com
  17. Great job you did while workin on City! Heartfelt thanks and good luck on all your future endeavors!
  18. Might wanna look at your actual net traffic ping. Ping Plotter can help with that, http://www.pingplotter.com/

Also is the router older or maybe getting hot? That could be an issue.

I did notice that your runnin 200% details I think. That's pushin alot of pixels through that card. I wasn't able to really run 200% until I upgraded to a gtx460, and most if not all of my stutter/rubberbanding stopped when I upgraded the GPU. My older card wasn't a slouch either, GTX260 216 core OC.
  19. LH, I think that was a discussion/fix about shutting down the " ATI Hotkey Poller", this may help, http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=219441
    GL!
  20. Nvidia spec page on that card, http://www.nvidia.com/object/product...tx_260_us.html
    says max temp 105c

I have the PNY 216 core version of that card, and OC it runs about 80c under gaming load. I wouldn't worry to much about it, but if you are, you can use a program to set/adjust fan speed(s) to help with the cooling. More noise however.
  21. Possible driver corruption? You might wanna follow the instructions here, http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=306922
    and give that a shot.
No experience with dual view myself, maybe someone else can chime in.
  22. Somewhat similiar issue discussed here,
    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=219441
Seemed it helped some to set skype to a higher "priority".
I've had success doing this with ventrilo when I had similiar issues. GL
  23. Not sure if your running XP, but you might wanna check your error logs to help track down the alert/warning. Sounds like an interface problem between the monitor and the computer. Bad connection/cable or?
