Consistent Video Lockups - Full System Crash
I can't seem to post the dxdiag full file, is there a specific area that's relevant?
I am using an nvidia 250 gts, I have tried the current and previous drivers... both whql and beta. No change.

|
Of note, I ran memtest86+ on full and found no errors. ran cpuburn on 1800 (30 mins each) on both cores with no errors.
There are a couple of posts from NVidia users complaining about similar issues the ATI users are having. How new are the drivers you are using? A new version came out just a few days ago and people have reported good things.
Using the most recent whql drivers posted a few days ago it seems to allow a longer average time but I still get near instant locks. If you run CoH_Helper, it will pull out the relevant data for easy pasting to the forums, as well as give us info about your game settings. |
Note on current settings: I just turned everything back up before seeing this post since lower res and lowest settings didn't make it better...

Might as well make it beautiful while it lasts

Tried running in windowed mode and that seems to last longer but I'm still getting nearly instant crashes and hours+ crashes.
In windows mode, tried running at ultra and medium with no discernible change. Also tried running videos and firefox with many tabs to see if high cpu/mem makes a difference... no change.
Note, all other games (multiple mmos and fps and other games from steam) run fine.
Any thoughts?
Question - what do you do that causes the crash? Is it opening bios? Dialogues? Enhancement windows? A bit more info will help.

Most of the time though, it's either while standing still or while playing as normal.

I guess I'm quitting for now unless anyone has any ideas.

Can you run the game in safe mode with no crashing?

I think that GPU is kinda at the low end for runnin high ultra mode settings?
When you mentioned you reduced settings did you try turning these off?

The game engine is fairly robust and can cause some heat issues as well, and some ASUS boards have had north bridge heat issues that might be affecting your setup. Mine was running pretty hot and added a "spot cool" fan helped alot.
Monitor the gpu heat temps as well. These can help with that.

I am a returning user and have only the current patch and issue. I have seen locks from 10 seconds of entering the game and not even moving to not locking until ~3 hours of gameplay with a team. I have used both heavy graphics and lowest setting and I cannot determine a cause.
I am running win7 64bit and able to play other mmos and recent games (civ5 as example).
I am using an nvidia 250 gts, I have tried the current and previous drivers... both whql and beta. No change.
