Quote:If it costs the same as buying new slots, you're coming out behind and would have to be daft to pay for the slot movement.Exactly how are you losing any slots? The idea is to move the slots you already unlocked to a new server. You'd have the exact same number of slots you unlocked only they'd be reassigned to a different server.
In order for someone to lose slots they'd have to have fewer slots than when they started. You can't lose something you didn't have in the first place.
Let's say you have a bonus slot on Virtue which cost you 480 points. And you want to move it to Liberty, so you pay 480 points to move it to Liberty because you're too stupid to see the con. Now you've paid 960 points and you only have one bonus slot, which is on Liberty rather than Virtue.
Or, when faced with that ridiculous pricing, you can be aware of the con and spend 480 points to just buy a new slot on Liberty without losing the slot you had on Virtue. Now you've paid 960 points and you have two bonus slots - one on Virtue and one on Liberty.
So you could either have one slot for the price of two, or two slots for the price of two.
Surely that was apparent and you're just having me on? -

That would be an amazing rip-off. You could either buy slots while keeping the ones you've already bought or, for the same price, you could buy slots and lose the slots you've already bought.

Quote:I was thinking 80-120 points at most. But the problem is that I don't actually know how difficult the process would be on their end. It *seems* like it should be easy to re-lock a slot and give you back a Global slot to spend, but the reality may be far more complicated than that. That said, as you even concurred, it would be a nice QoL improvement for NCSoft/Paragon to offer players the option of moving empty character slots from one server to another, for either no charge, or for a nominal charge that's less than those of purchasing additional character slots (480 pts) or transferring equipped characters (800 pts). Does 100 pts per empty slot transfer sound like a fair price?

They're like a combination of two girls and a lolcat with an invisible piko-hammer.

The great catgirl uprising will finally be upon us.

Quote:His hair could've been turned green by a chemical on-purpose. I've seen better green hair walking around malls. Since the mid-late 80s at least. This is not new and implausible tech. Nor is albinism implausible, for that matter. Not surprising. Since this Batman is placed in a much more physically plausible world than the previous incarnations (in all media forms) it pretty much guaranteed that he wouldn't be the guy who had his skin and hair changed by a chemical accident that also left him with a permanent grin. Heath came much closer to the Cesar Romero Joker than the comic book or cartoon Jokers. He was much less flamboyant too.
The acting/characterization I had no problem with, as I said before. -
Quote:Fair enough. I could probably say that I tend towards characters that don't get mezzed. I didn't make much progress on Blasters until they were able to use their first couple of powers while mezzed. I lean towards Sonic Resonance and Force Fields on Defs/Cors/Conts/MMs (the sleep hole irritates me, though). And I like Tanks, Brutes, Scrappers, Stalkers, and SoAs for their mez protection first and survivability second (well, its a tie with Tanks).Actually. I have narrowed it down!!!
I do not like playing anything that gets hit? Does that make sense? I choose dark for the -to hit. I like doms and controllers to lock down things so I don't get hit...and in fact, I even have diamagnetic on each of my mains for extra -to hit!!!
I like my emp/Psi/Mind because she can heal/stun/sleep and hold...and again...does not get hit.
Wow...thats a huge eye opener and prolly the reason my scrapper is on hold, and I could never stand a tank or a brute for longer than 20 minutes of playtime at all!
I have characters who are exceptions, of course, but I think mez protection is a major selling point for me. -
Quote:I dispute that one person cancelling their subscription harms Paragon. Its like losing a strand of hair - it naturally happens to everyone every day and in far greater numbers, yet we mostly don't notice unless the hair stops growing back. It's a particularly laughable notion these days, given that Paragon is turning the lost hair into a wig.And the claim that I made such an assertion is nonsense. Since the premise of your whole reply is nonsense you pulled out of thin air, I'm not going to bother with the rest. If you have to make crap up and attribute it to me in order to argue with me, don't bother replying to me. I neither said nor even vaguely implied any such thing.
Fact: Paragon benefits from each person's subscription
Fact: Cancelling your subscription harms them.
Fact: Harming them in retribution is punishment
Fact: Punishing them for a player's actions which they have no control over is just plain stupid
Nowhere does that even vaguely imply that we "owe" them anything. -

Quote:Only if the devs in question are complete idiots who disregard points out-of-hand regardless of their individual validity. For even the Devil's advocate may have a valid point.Good. I'm glad I was able to help you pick a side. However I'd just like to point out that by admitting that you're motivation for supporting the OP on this topic is because I'm disagreeing with him, will only cause any devs reading this thread to ignore your opinion.

Quote:Sounds the way I remember. Indeed, I hate location-targeted powers and would rather see the ones still in the set get changed to enemy-targeted AoEs rather than location-targeted AoEs. Were Glue Arrow changed to a click-n-stick power it would really put a damper on my enjoyment of the set. OSA is irritating enough, and I skip Disruption Arrow mainly for that reason. Optimally, such powers could be used either way - by targeting an enemy or choosing a placement. Until that's the case, my preference will always be for enemy-targeted AoEs.I want to say that Glue Arrow was originally the way you suggest, and that it was made the way it is (target an enemy) because there were too many powers requiring placement reticules and it was (a) annoying people, (b) really slowing the set down, or (c) both, so they changed it either in beta or just after release.
I *might* be remembering it wrong though. -

Quote:I hated the way the fight sequences were shot in the first movie, and initially was leery of the Tumbler though it eventually grew on me.I have no problem with his aesthetic choices in the last 2 movies. I thought the changes that i knew about were fine and paid respect to and represented the comics characters properly. That came through before I ever saw the movies. I was also one of the people that said that Heath would do a good job and that the whole omg we love heath turn around after he died ticked me off because it was and is so fake.
I hated the way the Joker looked prior to the second movie, and still don't like it. Prior to the movie I had no real opinion on the choice of actor, being rather unfamiliar with him, and afterwards I've said that I thought he pulled it off well despite how badly the character looked - not really a turn-around from me.
Going into the third movie, I don't like how Bane looks (or sounds), nor what I've seen of Catwoman, nor that Bat-VTOL-thing. So I'll be going in with low expectations. Nolan has enough benefit of the doubt from me that I'll still endeavor to see this in the theatre, at least. -
Quote:That's your argument based on what? They tell you the slot is immovable once placed. They didn't force you to switch servers, nor choose for you where the slots were placed, and I doubt they are forcing you to cancel your sub.Is that ethically or morally right or acceptable? I don't think so -- that's my argument.
I agree that being able to move slots would be a great QoL improvement (and that, as long as the slot is empty, there should be little to no charge). But there's nothing immoral or unethical or even unacceptable about *not* being able to move them. All of your cited issues are being brought upon you by your own actions and choices with full knowledge (or the easy potential of it) of the consequences. -
Given that the new enhancements are Uniques and thus you can't completely slot out a character with them, other IO sets should still be quite desirable.

I wouldn't. Animated series on DVD bug me as it is with only 4 or 5 episodes per disc on average. I prefer having an entire season conveniently on one disc with minimal discernable loss of quality. Blu-Rays have even more storage space. The tiny improvements in quality in the comparison shots at the link you posted are worth less to me than the potential to have an entire series (or multiple series) stored on one disc as reasonably-sized .avi or .divx files.

As long as that temple/palace zone is still a blueside-accessible zone and NOT PvP, I'm for anything that makes the zones more useful in general.

I assumed that some of them might once have *been* women.

If it was a scientific mission, logically they should get the best qualified people they could, regardless of nationality. And nationality wouldn't be a factor even if the mission was top secret. If German scientists are the best in the field you need, you use them even if you're at war with Germany.

Nice, but these would be down-powered from my current Frazetta wallpaper.

Quote:I'd be all for this, but I imagine if something like it were ever implemented one would only be able to move around the extra slots - that is, slots beyond the base 12 that exist on each server.Instead of just toon, have the ability to also move empty server slots around with the server transfer tokens.
Either have the prompt: Toon or Slot, when selecting the transfer. Then select the toon/slot from the server you want to transfer followed by the server you want it transferred to. -
Quote:It's going to make me seem and feel older to say this, but one day you too will realise just how little time 17 years is. Probably when some young upstart is telling you how ancient it is and you feel your brows begin to knit in consternation.I suppose if you want to say that a movie made 17 years ago isn't old, you can. Of course, for me that is one of those moments where I remember hearing about the movie when I was seven years old, and still learning how to read effectively.
You old fogeys need to learn that anything further back than 1990 isn't just old. It's super-duper old, back when movies were crudely drawn on the walls of caves and you had to run really fast by them to watch it.
