There are decorations, but they've been suppressed.

Didn't like the way Bane looked with what looked like face paint rather than the red-lensed mask.
Still not loving this series. -
Fifth Element is an awesome movie.

When the production values started to go up on that show, the funny started to decline. It's hard to imagine it getting less funny than the Back to Earth special, though (luckily, I've avoided seeing the American attempt). So, hopefully these new episodes bring back the funny.

I forlornly exist sans purple. I am a sad, bitter panda with cosmic rabies and an appetite for superhero souls.

I find that I generally enjoy novel adaptations of comic book story arcs more than the comics themselves. Infinite Crisis, Knightfall, Batman: No Man's Land, and Kingdom Come as a for instance.

Quote:It looks even worse like that. Perhaps a blurred version would be better. The only redeeming thing about it is the blue and yellow costumes.

I predict the movie will be as bad as if not worse than the X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie. I doubt, however, that it will get a video game as amusing as the XMO:W video game.

Quote:Ah, yes, back when you joined the Super Soldier program and became an iconic superhero. I remember it well...Really? The only pouch on that costume that I didn't wear in my time in the military was the one up by the shoulder that you think is silly. Everything else seems pretty standard to me. So strikes me as more realistic than Liefeldesque.

It might be "realistic" for Cap to be sporting a huge 50 lb. backpack as well, but if he were I'd say it was a bit too G.I. Joe rather than "realistic". -
Quote:Dora is an abomination that should not be spread around. It should be quarantined and perhaps burned as a plague-bearing corpse.Sorry, but I just had to share.

It looks cool, but I wouldn't want it simply because all of that octopus sticks out way too far on the backside of the chair. I'd rather have something more compact and frontside so I could sit nestled among the face tentacles in a more horrifyingly practical fashion.

Quote:I don't have a problem with outlevelling things. I solo in Praetoria not to avoid outlevelling things, but to have time to appreciate all the messages, dialogues, and clues. Teams don't tend to allow one to 'stop and smell the roses' as it were. Praetoria has some quality work in it, but the quality compels me to solo which makes for tedious progression. Thus I can't play my Praetorians for very long. And thus I can sympathise with the OP's sentiment.I'm not really getting what exactly it is that you want. You're kinda sending out mixed signals here. You level to slow, but still outlevel everything? How does that work?
As for what I want: to be able to use all ATs blue-side without having to suffer through 20+ tortuous levels of yellow- or red-.
Given that my expectations are easily achievable, they're hardly unrealistic, just improbable under the current regime. The problem lies with accepted MMORPG conventions of levelling speed. Thankfully, this game has at least pushed the boundaries of such conventions a bit. Other MMORPGs lose me the moment levelling becomes an outright chore.Quote:Well, then the problem is with you and your unrealistic expectations and not the game really. -
Walking around a hole in your floor doesn't fix the hole in your floor. Problem avoided, but not solved.
Mind you, I typically prefer to be on a full team blazing through missions at breakneck speed to avoid the problem, but in Praetoria I find myself more interested in the missions and thus compelled to solo. Which in turn means that I can only stand to play my Praetoians in very small bursts.
Double XP on an efficient 8-man team is what I call a decent pace. Not even fast, mind you - just decent.Quote:No, seriously. Even on a medium sized team you reach level 20 in 3-4 gaming sesions (2-3 hours at a time I'd say). I don't see how that is slow? -

Quote:Could be. I don't like the gloves or boots in that pic, either. The straps in it are less intrusive to the design, though, even if the armpit pouch looks ridiculous. I love that style of jacket, though - is it a classic flak jacket? They're clearly using the Ultimate Captain America design as their jumping-off point.
Mind you, I don't think the movie costume is overall movie-ruining terrible (like, say, the Spider-man Green Goblin costume was). As movie superhero costumes go, it's not bad. -
I don't like the gloves. The pouches are a bit Liefeld. The straps would be okay if the gray bits were made blue to match the top. I have a feeling I wouldn't like the boots if they were pictured, either.

So, the anti-matter is created by a gamma ray burst. The obvious conclusion is that the Maestro is the Anti-Monitor.

It's even easier to just use "he" which can also properly be used as a gender neutral pronoun without adding pointless words that look german or hungarian to the mix.
-
Costume is over-texturized, but Hollywood always seems intent on overdoing that. Actor looks okay for the part, but he needs to keep his mask on in Spidey mode. And hopefully make quips.

Quote:Oh no, their license and Sony's bottomless pockets might allow them to linger irrelevantly?I think it's abit foolish to underestimate that game. It doesn't matter if it sucks or has flaws or is made by a bad developer. It's license alone will carry many people onto it despite how bad it may be. Do not underestimate the power of a very well known and popular license.
Even a game SOE utterly ruined is still around due to it's license. -
Success like that is the opposite of DOOM.

I have nearly always found CoH to be rather mediocre. People familiar with my posts about the game around here would hardly be inclined to accuse me of blind fanboyism; indeed, some of them have openly wondered why I haven't left the game because they are under the mistaken impression that I hate it.Quote:Sure whiners suck. But blind fanboyism can be very detrimental to a game. You should never be patting a developer on the back when you don't like what they are doing.
<snip>
This is a very old niche game. Now they are threatened by a new juggernaut within the same niche. To say the other game is bad means you probably haven't tried it.
I have cancelled my CoH subscription for the beta and/or launch of other major MMOs in the superhero genre. Both times, I ended up returning to his game due to major flaws in those games that eclipsed the mediocrity of this game by far. I've tried them, and they both do (or did) a few things better than CoH, but they did other things far worse to the extent that the balance left them worse than mediocre. And so, here I am. -
Quote:Unless you want a Dominator without having to suffer ~22 levels of being in the Rogue Isles. In which case you choose between yellow hell or red hell.1: After you make 1 toon go through preatoria, you DO NOT have to start any other toons there.

I still haven't gotten a character through Praetoria. The missions have been fairly interesting story-wise with a couple of interesting gameplay twists, but I largely feel compelled to solo them. The soloing becomes tedious for me faster at lower levels and progress feels unnaturally slow, so I can only play my Praetorians in short bursts. I think my highest level Praetorian is 12 right now.
