I'd just be happy if they let us recolour the current models. The real kicker is that you can already recolour them in the AE editor.

Well, knowing what you want to aim for specifically would be a good start. Bots/Traps has gained notoriety for it's exceptional "tankermind" abilities while also having the tools to solo AVs. If that is what you are aiming for, then you should also be looking at picking up all of your Traps powers minus Caltrops, Trip Mine, and Detonator (these would be optional, but still good powers to have if you can take them), the Presence pool for taunt, and long term wise perhaps looking at softcapping your MM.
-
Quote:I can understand if you wanted to drop Combustion, but Fire Breath too? Put a Posi's Blast and a + range in that badboy and you are good to go.Here's my Fire/Fire dom. Softcapped smashing/lethal defense, permadom without Hasten level recharge.
I play twice as badly as usual whenever I'm playing it because of all the bloodflow being diverted away from my brain and hands. -
You probably don't need the +tohit proc. Rad gets an acc bonus and reduces mob defence to boot.
-
I thought they were modeled after the Balrog, especially with the whole whipping action.
Or in other words: they copied an idea that was a copy of an idea etc. -

I have never kicked someone from a team for powerset reasons, but I have certainly passed over certain chars for others while forming TF/SFs, though that is usually only when the current team make up is looking a bit "shakey" as it is.
The thing is normal teaming and the majority of TF/SFs are so easy, you only need maybe a 1/3rd of the team to know what they're doing in order to carry the rest of the team, and I'm not even talking about min/max builds in this case.
That said I feel compelled to play devil's advocate for this thread: not everyone who thinks you should have X power is some min/max jerkass with delusions of 733tness. Some of us just see it as a form of "team courtesy" as it were. When you advertise yourself as a Kin troller while I'm picking players for an ITF run, I expect that means you will actually SB people instead of just staring at your imps.
I think the perception of pulling one's own weight factors into this too. To use the OP's example: can a petless Mastermind still contribute to a team? Sure. Can a petless mastermind's contribution equal or even surpass the same mastermind who took their pets? I think I can confidently say no, they can't. -
Fire/Fire is the king of damage. You get less reliable AoE control, but most mobs will melt even before the low duration stun of Flashfire wears off anyway. You'll see a significant jump in damage once you get Fiery Embrace, a 2nd jump once you get your imps, and then finally you will feel like a true fiery god once you get Blaze.
Also would you mind posting your build as a data chunk please? The link doesn't seem to work for me. :/ -
Congrats S12!
That's a bummer to hear about your job, I wish you well in finding a new one. -
Only one of my arcs is bumping its head on the ceiling, but the size increase would certainly be more than welcome. One scene in particular was originally planned to have the villainous protagonist being chased by heroes across Paragon City. I felt it was kind of lame that in the canon missions villains can visit Paragon, only for every corner to be filled with Longbow. I doubt I would "retcon" that in though, instead I'll probably just make a remake of the arc if I ever get round to that.
I'd also like to see an increase in the in-mission clues. It doesn't have to be WALLOFTEXT huge like the intro and closing clues, but bigger than the meager scrap we have to deal with now. -
Just to add:
The Assault Bot's vanilla blast has a 30% chance of inflicting -500% regen for 30 secs irrc.
Poison Dart for Widows and Jounin have a minor -regen component (-25% for Widows I know of). Probably not enough for what you need, but just something to note. -

Quote:Painbringer is Instant Healing + Righteous Might + lol end issues + can be perma'd. I wouldn't consider that "optional".optional: take at least one ST ally buff, I recommend one of the following:
Painbringer (ally +recovery, +regen, +dmg) -Painbringer is a huge ally buff that gives +800% recovery, +500% regen and a +50% damage buff, though of the 3 here, it's the only one that doesn't buff you as a secondary effect. You can however use it on mission NPC allies as well as patron pets etc. to boost their survivability and performance. This power can also be made perma. -
Quote:Wow. Well if I may be bold, I think I should say you are really selling short a lot of your powers using them as set mules, while heavily slotting other powers that are really nothing more than just set mules. Not only that but I'm not even seeing a specific set bonus you are aiming for.I've done a lot of reading but I've also worked on a build for my toon in Mids. I actually really dislike the Fighting pool, and I've had very good results with Stealth backed up with a Stealth IO for far few powers costs so I'd be glad of feedback on this.
I've included the Hami-Os cuz... well I already have them, but if somene can make a better suggestion.
I would just like to add I'd like to be able to use this toon to duo ITF - I've come close on a number of occasions but always fail at the last hurdle.
To touch on a few specific powers:
Call Thugs: why an IO that increases KB? The Kinetic Crash proc does not give the +rech to the MM iirc (though I may be wrong). Think about placing an Explosive Strike proc in there instead if you can spare the slot.
Alkaloid: If you're using this power then I would recommend slotting for end red.
Assault/Tactics: These really don't need 2 slots for end red. If you are burning end too fast, you are much better off placing them in the click powers which are the main culprit (read: Alkaloid, pet summoning, upgrades, etc.) Also I don't know why you would take Tactics and not slot it for tohit, especially since the tohit recipes give out good set bonuses.
Call Enforcer: Okay... I really don't understand the reasoning behind this. If you want the set bonus you could have placed it in tactics, if you wanted more tohit for your thugs then placing 2 tohit IOs could have done the job. Why cut out the Enforcer's damage output/maneuvers? -
How much accuracy would you say your pets need? As an example I have been fiddling around with a final build to my bots mm, but I don't know if I'm better off with a slotting that gives me 53% acc and room for an Explosive Strike proc in my battle drones, or just skip the proc in favour of maxing out that accuracy.
Thoughts? -
Quote:Do I hear Colossus-style metal armor? It also seems weird to spend 31 levels getting these other armors, which you will never use again after level 32.
This is a set that desperately needs to be redone, but since so many players like it the way it is, the best we can hope for is a new "earth armor" set that gets rid of all the warts of Stone. -

I ran through an ITF as a DP/Pain on test. While it's doable I wouldn't advise it, as the long animation times in DP clashes with the twitch based nature of Pain.
I've also played around with a DP/Storm. I found it to be a much more pleasant ride, just keep an eye on your end bar. -
I would go for 5 Posi's Blasts for the rech bonus, and if you have a spare slot then use the 6th slot for an end red or a rech, whichever one you think you need the most.
As an example, my own Fire/Kin has this 6 slotted, with 5 Posi's and a 50 rech IO. -
Quote:I simply renamed it from cohupdater.EU.exe to cohupdater.exe, ran it, quit then renamed it back to cohupdater.EU.exe. Then it had to verify the files.Quote:Just don't load the updater.
We got a fix, where you simply go directly ingame.
Make a shortcut to your coh.exe (not updater) and add " -project eucoh" to the target. Like this: "C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CityOfHeroes.exe" -project eucoh
I don't know, if "-project uscoh" works, you have to try yourself. -

As in Psi Assault if you wanted to go dom.

Quote:Grav/Kin, or Grav/Psi if you want to hit things. Gravity already toes the line of time manipulation due to it's space/time control in Wormhole and Propel. Psi makes a decent imitation due to it's -rech effects, and you can always recolour in line with Grav (hurrah for power customisation!)Anyone have any ideas for what would be good to simulate the ability to control time?
Heck, I made a grav once just so I could totally be this guy using the ST hold that suspends the enemy following up with Propel.
