Mine's only level 6, and waiting until I get some free time to actually level him, but I'm much more interested in elec/ice than I am in elec/stone.

Quote:This right here demonstrates a fundamental break in opinion on what 'cheap' means.Dominators are power, they are awesome.
They are NOT in any way shape or form cheap.
I've made a permadom for 20 million inf. That's less than you get levelling up from 40 to 50.
If you are bad at the market, bad with money, bad at building, and bad at playing, dominators are incredibly expensive because you need domination, you need lots of money, and you need purples.
However, if you're able to read, none of these problems should persist for long. -
Quote:Kinda hard to say. If Hollywood made an FLCL movie? **** no. If it was made in Japan? Oh, absolutely.FLCL... just about anything is better than that in terms of things making sense and I bet FLCL would make a lot of money...
Because there, there IS a mass market for it. -
You just lost me and I will start disagreeing vehemently with your opinion.

If I remember correctly, thanks to the changes, 70% fury is actually top-end for solo brutes these days.
At the same time, ET doesn't need to be made better because it's not meant to be one attack that outdamages brutes. Dom version is a good solid attack that lets you reshape your melee chain around it. It's not supposed to replace an assault set. And it actually has a risk associated with it.
When they get around to fixing its set bug problem, I'll be happier.
(Unless it IS an AOE, in which case, what the christ...) -
Quote:You're not familiar with flunkies, or second-in-commands?I like pets but having a pet doesn't mesh too well with 4 villain AT. For one, I don't want my Stalker having a pet following me and aggroing! I think that alone feels like a design flaw. Corr having a pet is good because corr can help the pet. Brute having a pet is ok I guess. Dominator having a pet is fine.
They can keep the long recharge on patron pet but get rid of the duration! :P -

Random numbers are random, sorry.

Well, one of the nice things about this game's fundamental structure is that most everything has a foil; it's just a matter of how well-distributed those foils are, how well-handled they are. I think it's generally better to have a strong foil to your normal strategy, but mix up who is foiled by what. In a typical spawn of midlevel CoT, the regen characters and willpower characters are going to fear the Twilight Grasp of a Death Mage, while the Shields character is going to hope to avoid the Quicksand of the Earth Thorn Casters.
Defence was getting too good? Time to introduce some foils to that, spread 'em around a little. -
Ahah, an application I hadn't considered.

Can you unpack why you think the holds need to lose the -knockback? Isn't a held foe already controlled?
-
It was; you pointed out that Earth would benefit a lot from domination propogating to pseudopets. I was just checking if you think a buff to Earth would be warranted.

I think Arcanaville's studies are more interesting as they highlight how people's perceptions differ from realities than anything they say about sets themselves. Such as this thread provides.

Quote:Hey, A-Ville, could you provide for me as a frame of reference what kind of AOE he's talking about to compare this to? I mean, X Fireballs (which I think is the gold standard) need to hit an area simultaneously to wipe out X +3 minions, solve for X, kind of thing?Sure, why not. Heck, why not just make stalker attacks just do Cur -1.0 damage, so they always kill their targets by setting their health to zero. Then we wouldn't have to worry about all that ugly math and numbers and junk and stuff. While you could kill giant monsters that way, you could only kill one of them at a time, so that's cool.

Some recipes cost 1 merit, some cost 2. If you want it, chances are it's 2.

You think Earth Control deserves to be more powerful?
-
*shrugs* If Elec doms were somehow woefully underpowered, you might be more correct on 'major issue.' Some dominator sets really like Domination, some don't need it that much. Elec is more towards the 'doesn't need it much' end of the spectrum.

Would it kill you to suggest changes that might actually happen?

The fix was not to stalkers, the fix was to Martial Arts. To piecemeal fix set-by-set would interfere with future potential buffs to the stalker as an AT.
