Something sold. So I had the inf to go drop on some hero merits for comparison. Won't craft them this evening. But here's my first hero merit on this toon.

Just a random question that I think has been answered before but...
With a hero/villain AM, can you buy a specific recipe at a certain lvl?
For example with that 1 HAM, can you buy 1 lvl 25 LotG: +7.5% recharge recipe? Or does it cost more to specify (if at all)? Or can you only do random rolls?
I don't have any HAMs/VAMs so...was curious.

Some recipes cost 1 merit, some cost 2. If you want it, chances are it's 2.
400 merits gone to straight random rolls? Ow, dude. I would have stopped the moment I got the first Numina Unique- or more likely, the moment I got the first Obliteration.
Watching other people roll merits is, actually, fun for me. I may be a sad little man, but I look forward to seeing this thread progress.

Thanks for taking a look into my little thread.
Keep in mind that I'm in no way hurting for inf. Especially now that inf is stateless and easily portable.
This is just a little random comparison of earnings via Reward Merits and Alignment Merits. We'll see if the 10 merits and 20 million inf premium for 3 more recipes was financially justified.

I misunderstood the goal. My bad.
hmm, 20 rolls, no inf vs. 40 rolls, investing 160 million... my estimate is you'll make about 200 million inf more on the "40 rolls" case. One extra Stealth or LoTG, though, could make all the difference in that.

I NEVER sell stealth procs unless they are plus 40. I have about 50 alts and they all NEED stealth procs. NEED not want. NEED!

I thought exemping didn't affect procs like stealth unless you greyed out the power...
This is one of those cases where people want them at lower level not because they want them for exemplar (as mentioned, that doesn't affect these), but so they can slot them on lower-level characters they're leveling up. I'm guessing he only sells the level 40+ ones because he wants to keep and use the ones that are lower than that.

You guys got it right.
All my 40 plus toons have stealth procs and as they 30 plus toons get them then I will sell those. I like to slot the proc as low as possible so I can get the most benefit out of it.
When the day comes that I can sell every stealth proc +lvl 25 will be a great day indeed.

Okay, I finally broke down and have started cashing in merits on my controller.

As you can also see, he's relatively cash poor. So cashing in for Hero Merits isn't economically viable yet. Yes, I have several billion floating around that I could twink with. But I don't wanna! I want this to be ed-joo-kay-shun-all!
So, for now, we're going to work on a nest egg and spend out a few merits here for regular merit rolls.

Basically I weeded out a few that simply weren't worth the inf to craft (even though I have the components in my base). Having them require rare salvage with 70+ on the market, no bids, and going for less than a million? Uh. VENDOR!
My market slots are now full and I've exhausted my inf supply in crafting and listing fees. We'll sit back from stage 1 and see how well it pays off.
Then we'll go after stage 2.
