    Consume

Efficacy Adaptor offers +HP at two slots, and Performance Shifter offers +HP at three slots. You can get 95% rech and end mod out of that, with about 45-50% accuracy.
  2. Based on cheapness, I'd peg this as a real lowball. If you're willing to be patient, I'm picking you could score most of this for sixty to eighty. Throw in a bit of wiggle room, I'm going to say something like 189m.

(And note that that's just because you have some really robust pieces in there - stuff like Decimations and a lotg.)
  3. Do I just have a really weird venom sensor, or does this thread's '...'ing seem really low-key?

I don't remember saying '**** you, Aeon,' I said 'No thanks.' As did the person I quoted. In fact, the first person I felt leaping to an emotional invective was Fred (who, incidentally, I think has a perfectly legitimate point and was completely merited in his reaction).

It's not unreasonable to discuss our reaction to this here. And as far as I can see, the '...'ing that's going on is barely qualified as '...'ing. I would even call it '..'ing. Possibly '.'ing.
  4. I know for a fact that at least one of the people complaining about this challenge did not, in fact, at any point, call for a Doc Aeon challenge.

It's only hipocrisy if the same people spout the two different ideas.

    Counterattacks

    Sounds unfortunate, but accurate.

It occurred to me as a novel, oblative way to give stalkers AoE that wasn't just overpoweringly added to the 'dump AOES into spawns' malarkey. Ah well. Such is life.

    Counterattacks

Does anyone have any idea, or a clear idea as to the feasibility of a system whereby a character could have increased damage, or the avenue for 'free' damage or the like, when they are struck, directed specifically at whoever struck them?

I'm gonna enter this sucker and I'm gonna win because all my competition will be complaining and whining.

Love you guys but cheer up.

Pretty much. If this was additive to the process I might be more inclined to be charitable about it.

    New Merits....

The issue with the 2b inf PVP IO is not overinflated price, but insufficient supply. If more were available, their price would come down markedly.

Understand how your mind works. Understand how you make mistakes, how your perceptions can be fooled. It is one of the most robust, and reliable tools you can ever have, the simple realisation of how you err. It makes it very easy to identify erronous ideas and discard them.
  11. I don't want to act as if I'm somehow better than people, but that does look like fun to me. Just so nobody goes around acting as if nobody finds that fun.

edit: What a waste of a 14,000th post.

I'm sure you know how silly a suggestion this is, and therefore intended for people to point and laugh at it. Performance art, right?

    ??

    Nnnnnnnnnnnnope.
  14. On my fire/fire, I've found Consume is a great love-tap power to follow up the fireball/Rain AOE chain, that also happens to top you off for Endurance.
  15. Fire/fire resembles fire blast in that you will lean on the same three attacks all the way to whoopsie.

The only concern you might have is that your controls are going to overkill any 1/0 spawn, but until you get into your higher level ranges, your AOEs are going to suck for large groups.

Earth Control is really the big mack truck of control sets; it has pretty much no finesse, no refinement; it instead chooses to shake the board like a gorilla, making sure everything is locked down. When you hit a spawn with a control power and you have one runaway who it didn't affect, you're only going to have the option of tagging him with your ST hold.

On the other hand, this is somewhat of a silly complaint; while Earth Control spends all its time swatting flies with sledgehammers, it doesn't really matter because the set is made up of pretty much seven sledgehammers. Quicksand is a great early pick because it needs no slotting to be good and represents SO level accuracy.

Don't bother looking at -res procs, since for the most part, they don't propogate well and your attacks can't be socketed for -def. Just be happy with not needing acc boosts after Quicksanding someone.

Fire blast is the little black dress of assault sets. It goes with everything. It has stellar single target damage, an almost-build-up effect, a really good chain for endurance consumption, Consume (which is very nice), and even two non-awful AOEs (that will be outshone by your high-level AOEs in the epic pool). It only has one real turkey power, and that's the snipe, which I'm sure you can find a use for in sets.

So I guess what I'm saying is you're building a gorilla in a little black dress.

    An awesome gorilla.

    Leveling Pact

If you have two daughters, you can pact them both with one another, then that way, they'll be evenly matched. You could then tag along, with super-sidekicking taking care of the rest.
  17. Flipping does indeed keep property out of the hands of people who don't want to pay for that property. So to do prices.
  18. What level are you?

My elec/ice was sapping guys to nothing at level 15.

I'd make it so whining about it on the forums docked all your characters a level.

That's pretty much all I'd change.

I think you have a very, very, very wretched definition of a Great Boost.
  21. I went a step further than this with a friend, to get him all the mayhems in one day. I gotta say, it's huge amounts of work, more than you think it is.

You say this as though 'ebil' is some kind of logical state. It's a circularly logical position borne entirely out of emotional frustration. It doesn't matter what you do, you're an ebil marketeer if you have more money than me, and if you have less money than me, you're a poor sap who I totally give money to to show off what a great guy I am while I list everything for 1 inf.
  23. If the field was nerfed tomorrow, the set would still be good. Such an awesome control power, scales to teams and large spawns well, always useful. I really have no good way to express the amount of love I have for this control set.

  25. It's been gone over in the past, but the basic thrust of it is that proliferating dark is challenging. /Dark for blasters is going to be comparable to /dark for dominators, but dark/ for controllers and dark/ for dominators is not necessary going to be comparable to dark/ for defenders, especially if controllers get /dark. In practical terms, there's only so much dark/dark to spread around, and it needs to avoid overlapping powers between dark/ and /dark, for all flavours of dark/ and /dark.
