Quote:You didn't have to; I didn't.As of this morning i couldn't log into the forums with any of my accounts. Again.
Changing my game account password to what it already was fixed it. Again.
i keep on clicking the "Remember me" button on the login screen even though it appears to actually do nothing now. Before the whole Freedom theme was added to the forums whenever i went to the forums after starting up my PC i would generally be logged in even if the odds were pretty good that i would have to log in again in the next couple of hours. Ever since the last round of forum tweaks i have had to log into the forums every single time.
Having to reset the password yet again was a bonus.
I assumed I couldn't log in because they were moving the account server for the game or something, since no-one at all seemed to be posting anything for a good chunk of today.

...but the remember me button is borked. -
I reckon they added an extra 0 to that price for a laugh!
I'm not sure I'd even spend 60 points on it, but that's the sort of level it ought to be at. -
I'm not sure which is worse in this thread, but the 'OMG what right have you to complain' suck-ups are edging slightly further up my nose than the 'I PAY FOR THIS?!!!!1!' cry babies.
The geniuses with the maths especially irritate me, theses gems always pop up in threads like this: 'you have a bazillion hours in a week and it's down for a tiny percent of it' along with the 'LOL they owe you $0.000002'.
The fact is, if you can only play for a couple of hours a day as many of us can and they consistantly put the downtime in that time, then you are losing pretty much ALL of what you are paying for on those days.
So yeah, some people do have a right to be annoyed by this; they have every right to complain about this and every right to expect Paragon to soothe their ruffled feathers, but the people who play for 12 hours a day moaning about the occasional off-time? I have no sympathy for them.
I fully accept this work needs to be done and needs to be done in a time-frame that suits Paragon, and by extension the NA player base; but coming on top of recent protracted maintenence that affects the same section of the player base again anad again, the 'STFU' attitude of some of the posters in this thread is just moronic. -

Quote:Yeah I meant 'token', although I thought it obvious from the context, sorry.Assuming you mean 'token' that still doesn't make sense. There's only one token and it should already be slotted in the lowest slot. That's what I see for my trial account.
But no, you're correct I'd somehow blanked out that single slot at the bottom, I have Tier TWO fully unlocked, with one token yet to spend. -

I've used Dropbox for a while; I got it originally to transfer files to & from my iPad (lots of apps interface directly with it) but I installed it on both my home and office PCs.
I'm not sure I'm ready to trust any online service as a permanent backup, but I no longer use a USB stick to transfer files between home & work or email files to myself. I don't know how the others services work, but Dropbox syncs a folder across any machine on the same account, so the stuff is actually sitting on my machines as well as the online account.
I use the free version, I get around 2Gb space on that. -
Quote:Good advice in there!Take a look at my Ill/Rad guide, linked in my sig. It has a strategy section about Choosing Your Anchor.
On my Ice/Rad I generally went with the 'use multiple anchors' approach which does seem to help; but mainly I learnt not to care too much (so long as everything was going well, obviously) and even took to using it as an unspoken 'kill this guy first' instruction....this is when you realise your 'team' are actually just extra pets.
/edit
on topic: my Ice/Rad was always in melee range and very happy there; he suffered from end problems as I liked to run both choking cloud & arctic air, but this was before IOs. -

Quote:Awesome news, I grabbed Sugar Rush & made sure Cryonic was delivered to the correct hands while I was at it. I'm feeling all nostalgic now!The person who had mine was very nice and released it for me yesterday without any issues at all after a brief conversation (a time-lagged one because we were never on at the same times). So now I have Carnifax on Exalted.
Thank you again Sir or Madam. Tis greatly appreciated. -
Quote:That's because there's never anyone in Atlas!-except Union.
Seriously. Never seen AE spam since the changes a way back. The only time you see farmers in AE is when working on an arc and then suddenly 8 Fire/Kin Trollers pop out of the portal one after another. Or Fire Tanks.
Union was full of farming spam (as was Defiant) a few years back (and pre AE it was all 'fill-for-me' PI farms), I'm guessing most dedicated EU farmers have jumped to Freedom. -
Quote:I'll see your Peter Cushing (Hammer stalwart and Dr Who impersonator) and raise you an Alec Guinness. Seriously the man was a legend, I'm still amazed they convinced him to play Ben.Comming out of them James Earl Jones. Honorable Mention to Mark Hamill for his voice acting of the Joker in Batman Animations.
Going into them PETER CUSHING<-----!
OP purposes, Independence Day.
Battlefield Earth would have to win this thread for me, but an honourable mention should go to Alien 3...wow they screwed up with that. -
See that look on Scotty's face?
That's me that is. -
I'd rather they stuck two or three branches of Icon in every zone than made trainers into tailors... it really doesn't make sense to me; why would anyone take fashion advice from Ms Liberty? or Swan?
What's next? A button that opens the tailor window so we don't even have to walk to a trainer? One that opens a training window so you can train up while in a mission?
Lazy, lazy heroes. -

Quote:I hope so; playing a Praetorian, it was jarring being told I was being sent back to my first day on the job - Outbreak!I was under the impression that the introductory Ouroboros arc was also being rewritten so that you exemplar down to go back to the fall of Galaxy City rather than Outbreak or Breakout.

Quote:Being British has nothing to do with it; It's an in-joke, you just had to be there.I don't get the 'Freem' thing. I'm British, and I don't think it's a well-known trope or joke or whatever in the UK. Maybe it's relatively unknown in the rest of Europe too.

I vote against it as the server name though...and speaking of such things, what are they going to rename the Freedom server to?
What?
You just can't have a server with the same name as the game, that would be just silly.

Quote:I take it this is off the top of your head and you haven't looked at how *other games* do it?If they do offer a lifetime subscription I suspect it will come in the following form.
First, everything that is unlocked to VIP players is unlocked for life. The account would cost about the same as a two year subscription.
Second, they get a lump sum of Paragon Points. Probably somewhere just OVER 9000!!! or about two years worth. However their subscription would not earn any points on a monthly basis so once they hit the two year mark those who chose to stick with the regular subscription model would surpass them in terms of value for dollars.
Generally, LTS cost around 14 months sub and come with a monthly stipend of points, as though you were on a monthly sub.
If they did them here, that's how I'd expect them to work, not that I expect them to offer them. -
Quote:Utter bosh old man, they're all colonial servers now, pip pip!Oh and technically there are no EU servers. A while back they were moved to the US, so all the servers have been NA servers for some time. They just finally merged the server lists recently. To everyones joy.
