  1. also, Tundara, I think your math is off.

I rebuilt your build in Mids' Hero Planner after it didn't feel right to me. These are the actual set bonuses you get.

    +12% DamageBuff
    +3% Defense
    +5% Defense(Energy)
    +59% Enhancement(Accuracy)
    +35% Enhancement(RechargeTime)
    +281.1 (15%) HitPoints
    +MezResist(Immobilize) (Mag 21.5%)
+18% Recovery (+25% from the uniques)
74% Regeneration (+20% from the unique) (+78.5% from Health)
    +3.15% Resistance(Fire)
    +3.15% Resistance(Cold)
    +3.13% Resistance(Negative)
    +6.25% Resistance(Toxic)

Your total Regen buff is 172.5% with all these things factored in.

    **********************************

Here are some ideas for changes:

    1. one of your single target ranged APP passes the cap for 10% regen. Its bonus isn't counted. You should chang the slotting on one of them. I'd change the Entropic Chaos slots to 2slots of Devastation. That would give another 12% Regen buff.

    2. Your multi-target ranged APP passes the cap for 9% Acc bonuses. Instead of reslotting, I'd change 2 of the slots in Icicles to Cleaving Blow. That'll give you a 1% recovery set bonus.

    3. You should try to fit in the other +Regen Unique IO from the Regen Tissue set. That's another 25% Regen. Slot it in Health if you can.

    4. I hate getting immobilized too but you've bypassed some nice Set bonuses to collect immob resistance. Instead of using slots in attacks for this, why not add two slots to Permafrost and then slot the two Unique Mez Resist IOs? The one in Aegis gives 20% resistance to all status effects and the one in Impervious Skin gives 30%.

    5. think about adding 2slots of Pounding Slugfest to single target melee attacks. The set bonus for it is 8% regen.
  2. only one of each Unique. Just because you slot a Numina regen/recovery doesn't mean that you can't slot a Miracle Recovery. It just means you can't slot another Numina regen/recovery.
  3. the only thing I'll rate as a negative about this issue is the Invention Tutorial. Yes, it does the absolute basics fine. The Common IOs and how to find parts and build. Great. But the utter lack of important info on the Set IOs is killing me. Dozens and dozens of player posts in the Invention forum ask for simple information that should be explained in the tutorial.

Stacking rules of set bonuses and global effects
    sets fitting into certain powers
    unique IOs
global effect IOs and what they do in toggles/clicks/passives

All of that needs to be explained better. Hell, explained at all.
  4. one thing I've noticed that's also fun for melee attacks is that you can use the +2 bonus from Pounding Slugfest alongside 4 IOs from either Crushing Impact or Mako's Bite to get some nice effects.

    CI + PS
    immob resistance +2.2%
    max health +1.125%
    tohit bonus +2.5%
    regeneration +8%

    MB + PS

    immob resistance +3.3%
    max health +1.5%
    damage bonus +3%
    regeneration +8%

That's pretty spiffy, especially since the max HP and Regen work together. Stacking that 5 times gives this.

    CI +PS
    +5.625% HP
    +40% regen.
    +12.5% acc

    MB + PS
    +7.5% hp
    +40% regen
    +15% dmg
  5. so the link broke again.

here's the sitch. I'm working on an I9 version that will let you enter your IO set bonuses and even slot common IOs into the powers. I'm not sure if I can get it to work for IO sets in the powers. I'm busy right now and more importantly, I'm lazy. So don't hold your breath on that feature.

the current link is broken though. PM your email addy to me if you want a copy.

    "Enemies become friends"? ... Interesting.

Don't get your hopes up — this is probably in reference to the Hero-Villain cooperative zone, not anything earth-shaking like the Rikti switching sides and aiding us.

  7. just wanted to chime in again and say that I'm really, really enjoying these.
  8. great job on the Scarab. I really didn't see the whole "bug" thing coming at all. And the discussion of the game physics was hilarious.
  9. Doh! One thing I kept forgetting to ask of you guys: did the AVs on the TF count towards the badges? or are those only for the versions found in Recluse's Victory?
  10. No, I was able to talk to the ol' Buckethead without two characters, one with and one without the badge.
  11. I'd rather save the slots and use them in powers that aren't 6 slotted right now. I'm sure i can get any of those set bonuses from other powers that I like to use more.
  12. Hmmm, I'll put it in an older version.

okay, i put a new version of the excel file in that last post.
  13. Alright NEW LINKS!!!

now with Open Office and Excel versions!

Since I'm going to resort to the same boring arguments everyone else does, I'll consider them to have been made and rejected. There is a certain opinion that MoG sucks and is so situational as to be useless and this thread manages to repeatedly dismiss any differing opinion. *shrug* Threads do that, I guess. Hence, I'm beginning to understand the forums.

There's a big difference between "made and rejected" and "countered with facts about the power taken from actual experience". Despite what you've typed, the people that dislike the power aren't blithely dismissing the opinions of others. The people who don't like it, particularly the one who made this thread, know the power at least as well as the people who like it, if not better. They've played with the power for a long time now and have real reasons for preferring other methods of defense and for not liking the weaknesses introduced by the power. They aren't simply shooting down dissenting opinions without thought.

I also think you understand the forums very well already. Lots of people like to make ad hominem comments and play the victim. I think you'll fit right in here.
  15. your builder is wrong, as are most builders.

    go here for real numbers.

hahaha, this is my favorite bit of the whole thread. They actually went ahead and did this one. It's called the Discussion of Issue 9 Inventions Feature forum.

    ah hahahhahahaha
  17. The preview looks great. i can't wait to see if all ATs truly are welcomed and able to contribute. If it is as well done as this preview suggests, I can only hope similar well designed changes are made to the Recluse SF.
  18. i hope he beats the crap out of Ms. Liberty and takes his sword back.
  19. Nice job hudson. I don't know why I haven't seen this before now. It's very useful and would answer a lot of questions people ask. I was actually going to post my own and decided to check to see if anyone else had made one.

for fun, here's my version. It's just a table of the various values.

Why does claws have ranged attacks at all?

    [/ QUOTE ]

because they needed another melee set for Scrappers and it was down to the wire and they just rearranges the powers and animations from Spines and slapped a some new names on.
  21. the entire file sharing site is gone!

I'm looking for a new one.

    [edit]

alright found a new site and this one claims that the file link won't die every couple weeks. We shall see.

    have fun!
  22. Not really, Commando. At some point everyone, even Claws, has enough attacks to create a full chain no matter what they do and anything after that is either highly situational or unused. For Claws, if you take everything except Swipe, you have that. If you grab a useful power pool attack, then sometimes you'll even have Strike sit unused.

Too many attacks is just as bad as not enough attacks.

Also, Commando, Swipe is the 3 white dots. Strike is the one white dot.
