Make it so! (for 1200 points each "gear kit." More if you have to. 2000 for both.)
I have them both and really don't care if someone else pays for them. Even if they have the in game stuff, if I need to feel "special" about having bought them, I can take out the heroclix and go "whoosh" with them around the room, then look at the comic and art book. -
Quote:License to pay: would have to be something like 3 months at a time or something to make it worthwhile even slightly, but I like the idea for both convenience and for getting money directed to base attention. Please provide a base license around the price of an Invention or AE license for Premium players. In other words, I can pay rent and start a new SG. Or you could even sell them like character slots with no base upkeep. I would also be interested in buying pre-made bases as well as individual items such as teleporters, control and power. Hopefully, if bases would see more direct revenue then we can get some true base love.
Account wide "base maintenance" license for things like rent:
3 months, 800 points
6 months, 1400 points
1 year, 2500 points
Prices so high for so little because it *is* account wide, as long as you have SG rank.
Quote:The Base License and pre-made bases aren't a bad idea, but paying real money for individual base items seems like a bit of a stretch.
1. You buy it, but don't have a base - too bad.
2. You buy it, but don't have rights to place it on the character you claimed it on - too bad, again.
3. You buy it, have rights to place it, do so, then you or someone else deletes it - no refunds, too bad.
4. Pre-made bases - what if you try to use it on an existing base?
Too many problems with that. It's a CS/Support nightmare waiting to happen. Otherwise, I'd be for it - more money focused on getting base fixes and improvements.
Quote:The ability to create SG's and pay Base Rent is one of the few things exclusive to VIP's.
They are giving enough away for free or for such a small amount of money already that the VIP sub is almost devalued.
You can almost count on it as a response to everything. Some people are *so* insecure about their precious "VIP status." Kind of like people being insecure about posting their builds because other people can "steal" them - oh, yeah, and they can buy the IOs they "worked so hard" to get in game to fill out the build. Guess what. It doesn't hurt you *one bit.* In fact, it would help you, because there's more money coming into your favorite game to get stuff done and keep it alive.
What an *awful* thing to have happen! -
Quote:Emphasis mine.Stuff that you HAVE to defeat in order to progress, but gives no reward, is frustrating. But this statement is at least a bit of an exaggeration.
My scrapper can drop the tentacles in about 15 seconds each. Granted, he's +3, but I don't have any other characters that far into the DA story, so I don't know how a +0 would fare. But I can't imagine that it's going to be orders of magnitude different unless you're playing a SO-only defender with no debuffs and only your T1 attack.
No, it isn't an exaggeration. Done with a new character - you know, the sort that may *want* to go in instead of screwing around with trials - with a full attack chain, SOs/common IOs, nothing really fancy. I think I had T1 Alpha by that time.
While they're *individually* faster, timing each mole machine vs each tentacle, the fact that it's a lot of wasted time for no reward for someone not "tricked out" is what I'm saying "It's the mole machines all over again" for.
So, how about not going through and saying I'm exaggerating because you're +3 and loaded up on a high damage character? Get one or two of your other characters - yes, *go* for a defender! - with no level shifts and other "help" and see what you think after spamming a bunch of attacks for no reward for a few minutes. Otherwise, it's like saying "Oh, I had no problems with the hellions at the Steel Canyon fires!" to a level 13-15 - then adding "Of course, they were grey to me, because I was on my 50." Not even close to the same. -
So I'm fighting kraken tentacles. Labeled as "monster," but not really in that class. I check - no iXP. No Inf. Nada.
It's the Nemesis Mole Machines all over again. (For those who may never have done the Patron arc - I think it's Scorpion's - they're nothing but bags of HP you have to destroy. You get nothing for them. Except the chance to resummon your pets, if you're a mastermind.)
And yet, the devs mention their "reward for time" goal.
My suggestion? Give us SOMETHING for burning so much time destroying these stupid things. XP/iXP. Recipes. SOMETHING. Don't make it feel like nothing but a waste of time. -
Quote:Er... I don't remmeber them actually giving us more free slots. They made Fitness inherent, and all of those, like most inherent powers, come with a slot. You do realize the last time they gave us four free powers and four free slots (allowing us to choose up to an additional four powers w/four slots for more critical choices), it didn't break the game?
That's a lot different from giving us four more placeable slots. In fact, I'd say it made slotting slightly more difficult, as you DO have more critical powers to pass the same number of placeable slots in.
If it weren't for the IO system, which gives some nice combos, I think some builds would really have ended up hurting because of it.
(Remember, I *do* actually want the choice of more slots.)
Quote:Nor did it break the game when the Alpha Slot potentially freed up/diversified at least 24 slots for player use.
I do hope they find a way to do this, though.
Quote:My only concern would be how it might interfere with respeccing. -
Quote:Think I've heard this or a filter asked for over and over. Still want it. (Actually, both would be nice. Tab it, and for the bigger stores, filter by level if you want.)I had an idea while shopping for SO's at the Vanguard Quartermaster this morning.
Separate the Origins out by Tabs, like the tabs for Contacts. That way, all you have to do is click on the Tab for your character's Origin, and bingo, all the Enhancements right there, sorted by level. -
Just more of them overall, yeah. Some make my higher level characters feel really limited.
-
Quote:These. (I don't think I go with #4.) Even if #3 is the 10% reward merit bonus or something.1) A homeland. We have a hero side and a villian side. we need a rogue side. I think - with the story arc changes - that a 'broken" Praetoria would be wonderfully suited to that role.
2) "Grey" arcs. solo and team arcs that require a certain "moral flexibility." This would require certain choices to be made in the arcs and missions.
3) Special "grey" perks and awards. -
Abso-bloody-lutely not.
They started the power customization project, but didn't finish. We've gotten the "We know" from them, and they keep putting it off.
I'll buy something else if they say "The money's not there, so funds for this are earmarked to get this done." I'll buy extra customizations when they do finish it, like I do for some costume pieces or did for titan weapons. But just to pay to turn hasten or superspeed's eyesore effects off? No way, man. -
Quote:Which would make them different from a VIP with their first 50 how?The problem I see with this is that we'd get a flood of freebies in iTrials. We'd have waves among waves of people who don't know what they're doing.
Or from anyone who ran the trials the first time?
Or everyone the first time a trial is launched?
And, frankly, I see "vets" who still don't know what they're doing after years. -
Not a threat. Done already.
And I note you still didn't do what he asked. Removing his name is not what was asked, so you seem to be wanting to do nothing but troll him. Grow up.
And he quoted the relevant area. You want nothing more than to start fights. -
I notice you didn't highlight his "When someone hits 50" in your drive to prove him wrong.
Plus, looking at the original thread, there's no "stealth edit." In case you haven't noticed, the forums will say "Last edit." (See below.) So, you're a liar as well.
Disgusting. But I don't expect any less.
Oh, and you don't do what he asks to remove his quote from your sig. I think it's time for the mods to get involved, since you're just trolling him at this point. -
Quote:How is stomping your foot to knock them down/damage them any different than going in and doign a spine burst (Spines, obviously?) Or jumping in via lightning rod?SS seems distinctly un-stalkerish in every way. Not the idea of a super strong stealther, but seriously look at that set. Clapping your hands really loudly to stun people, stomping your foot to make a giant shockwave, crazy fist swings, chucking rocks and the such.
This is one case where I don't really like the idea of proliferation. Let tankers and brutes have this one, guys.
How is chucking a rock any different than Focus or Impale?
Crazy fist swings... see Martial Arts, Street Justice. -
Usually see that in newspaper missions (and I think the occasional regular mission) that have been held on to during the issue update. In this case, though...
Frankly, if they're putting it in intentionally as a "joke," they should spend less time joking and more time fixing. -
Quote:Just went in, used it on one character, logged out right away and into another one and could use it there immediately. I'm thinking hiccup on your side. See if it happens again. The Inner Inspiration vet reward appears to have been changed. Now, when I log in the power is greyed out for about 5 minutes. It doesn't matter if I've just used it on another character and switched or if I've been logged off for days. It's greyed out upon login for about 5 minutes.
I spent a token on this and am unhappy. Is anyone else seeing this? -
Quote:No BP at all.So is it just kill banished pantheon in Talos now? Is BA totally taken out of the TF all together?
Quote:Does it really matter? 90% of that TF is hunting down grey cons to waste time. It really needs a revamp.

Quote:Foot stomp would probably be sacrificed for either Placate or the AS. Though there are some other questionable powers (taunt, hand clap.) Or it'd be turned into a cone or something.I can't see SS ever being OP on a stalker unless for some reason they gave it 100% crit on Foot Stomp (if foot stomp even stayed). The issue is probably more that the devs don't consider it 'sneaky' enough, but they have been saying that about alot of things.
Hmmm. how about:
1. Jab
2. Punch
3. Haymaker
4. Assassin's ohmygodnothefacenottheface.
5. Rage? Or would they just get build up because that's "too powerful?"
6. Placate
7. Hand clap turned into an AOE stun? Or KO blow?
8. Hurl (or move HC here)
9. Foot stomp.
(Alternately, would they turn KO blow into the AS with the new mechanics? Probably not...) -
I'm surprised "the regulars" haven't come in to tell you how overpowered this would be, etc, etc, etc.
Have one sort (5 levels) purchaseable on the market, or a fairly rare drop in game. Have another (last level: free, 1 level:250,000 inf, etc. with an increased cost up to 5 levels) via the trainers. Just for flexibility. -
Purchaseable, no. Or at least not without severe limits.
Given an option at 49 to have a power or slots, sure.
Given a few extras in Kheldian forms (starting with two instead of one for the form powers,) sure. -
Quote:That's not tied to premium or VIP status. Argument fail. So, should the portal to Praetoria be invisible to Premiums, too? Or is ostentatiously showing a portal mocking their Premium status?
Quote:When they open up the market interface, should all IOs be invisibled, too? Or is having IOs in the auction house mocking their Premium status?
Quote:Can we solicit other players in global channels for Incarnate tasks, or is that going to annoy Premiums?
Quote:For that matter, can I wear costume pieces or use temp powers others haven't bought?
Quote:This is a MMORPG, it has 'RP' in the genre. So, tell your friend to role-play it and say to themselves: "Sorry Captain, I'm not an Incarnate...yet."
The game can detect that you're VIP already, since it already disables Incarnate powers/zones. No new tech needed there. If those are greyed out, *don't pop up the window.*
Wow, real stretch there.
Want to try again?
And watching these boards, I can see why the "forum cartel" accusation comes up. Same people arguing against virtually anything and everything. (No, I don't agree with it, I'm just pointing it out. Seems more like there are just a few people that are so jealous of their "elite" status *cough* they want nothing to change.) Worse since some of the more helpful vets left a while ago. -
Yes, Mot was real.
If you go WAY back to the old Prima guide (yeah, I know) it mentions them "finding" Mot asleep. Plus we're given the (made up) names of some of the rest of the Pantheon (Lughebu being the most commonly mentioned) in missions and in some of those 'rites' - well, the ones they had in the old DA. -
And here I thought it'd be a request for race cars.
-
Well, they do have somewhat-designated areas. The 5th Column/Council is, to me, the biggest issue, though - they should have designated "one faction only" areas.
I'd say (other than that) trim down the really large street hunts from 30-40-50-more, first. If they're still an issue, then do something like the OP. -
Eh...
I don't mind per character timers. I would, however, like to SEE them.
