Reward over time - live up to it
See, the problem with that is that if they gave you something worth your time for destroying monster class enemies in a normal mission, people would find a way to farm it.
They are fully capable of reducing rewards for one particular enemy.

Is zero the right number, though? Would people farm monsters in missions if they gave AV-level rewards? Do people farm AVs in missions, that already do give AV-level rewards? Would farming (or not farming) monsters with AV-level rewards be different from farming (or not farming) AVs with AV-level rewards?
Which, in fact, seems to be precisely what they did -- reducing the rewards for this particular enemy to zero.

most mishs with AVs usually complete on AV kill and/or theres only like 1 AV in the mish to begin with, from personal experience the tentacles are also MUCH easier to kill than an AV since they only have 1 attack thats basically melee only (it has a large range but very easy to sit outside its range)
So give them minion level rewards. Just not "no rewards".

Even badges give you a bit of influence...
Maestro Mavius - Infinity
Capt. Biohazrd - PCSAR
Talsor Tech - Talsorian Guard
Keep Calm & Chive On!
well.. the GM's need a buff in reward. It is relativly hard to find people for a GM hunt.
Also.. incarnates can solo many (if not all) GM's now.. that takes even more time. There should be a badge for doing it solo btw.
- The Italian Job: The Godfather Returns #1151
Beginner - Encounter a renewed age for the Mook and the Family when Emile Marcone escapes from the Zig!
- Along Came a... Bug!? #528482
Average - A new race of aliens arrives on Earth. And Vanguard has you investigate them!
- The Court of the Blood Countess: The Rise of the Blood Countess #3805
Advanced - Go back in time and witness the birth of a vampire. Follow her to key moments in her life in order to stop her! A story of intrigue, drama and horror! Blood & Violence... not recommend to solo!

And this is hardly the first instance of getting no rewards for tough opponents. There are plenty of missions (mostly in tips) where a boss class mob will 'surrender' just before being defeated. Even though the player has defeated the mob for all practical purposes, no defeat experience or rewards are given.

A thought: Maybe instead of adding a direct reward for the tentacles, just increase the end-of-mission reward? Same idea as earning a badge in Dilemma Diabolique but not actually receiving it until you successfully complete the trial. No farming, but the tentacles are still "worth the time" it took to beat them.
FUN FACT: That burst of light when you level up is actually the effectiveness escaping from your enhancements all at once.
My scrapper can drop the tentacles in about 15 seconds each. Granted, he's +3, but I don't have any other characters that far into the DA story, so I don't know how a +0 would fare. But I can't imagine that it's going to be orders of magnitude different unless you're playing a SO-only defender with no debuffs and only your T1 attack.
@Roderick
Stuff that you HAVE to defeat in order to progress, but gives no reward, is frustrating. But this statement is at least a bit of an exaggeration.

No, it isn't an exaggeration. Done with a new character - you know, the sort that may *want* to go in instead of screwing around with trials - with a full attack chain, SOs/common IOs, nothing really fancy. I think I had T1 Alpha by that time.
While they're *individually* faster, timing each mole machine vs each tentacle, the fact that it's a lot of wasted time for no reward for someone not "tricked out" is what I'm saying "It's the mole machines all over again" for.
So, how about not going through and saying I'm exaggerating because you're +3 and loaded up on a high damage character? Get one or two of your other characters - yes, *go* for a defender! - with no level shifts and other "help" and see what you think after spamming a bunch of attacks for no reward for a few minutes. Otherwise, it's like saying "Oh, I had no problems with the hellions at the Steel Canyon fires!" to a level 13-15 - then adding "Of course, they were grey to me, because I was on my 50." Not even close to the same.
Wanted: Origin centric story arcs.
If you've only played an AT once (one set combo) and "hate" it - don't give up. Roll a different combo. It may just be those sets not clicking for you.

@Inquisitor
So I'm fighting kraken tentacles. Labeled as "monster," but not really in that class. I check - no iXP. No Inf. Nada.
It's the Nemesis Mole Machines all over again. (For those who may never have done the Patron arc - I think it's Scorpion's - they're nothing but bags of HP you have to destroy. You get nothing for them. Except the chance to resummon your pets, if you're a mastermind.)
And yet, the devs mention their "reward for time" goal.
My suggestion? Give us SOMETHING for burning so much time destroying these stupid things. XP/iXP. Recipes. SOMETHING. Don't make it feel like nothing but a waste of time.
