  1. Ok, well, it turns out I still have that build...

However, I really can't recommend it, so I'd rather not post it. If you want, I can send it to you, but the reason I respec'd out of it was that it's blue bar was...for the lack of a better word, anemic. A couple attacks, and you were forced to pop a blue or use Stygian Circle.

So, let me know if you still want to see it, or I can show you my new build. The new one has less defense, but I am much more satisfied with it overall.
  2. So, tonight was a great night for Kheldian Fridays! We had an old regular return (and I hope you keep coming back!), and we continued to push the envelope as awesome aliens. We started off doing a Katie Hannon TF, with one team consisting of Warshades, and the other, Peacebringers. What made it interesting was that the peacebringer team only had two people: Abe, and Speedy. They put up a valiant effort.

Afterwards, we did a first for Kheldian Fridays by running the STF! Not only did we run it, we beat the snot out of it! I'm very proud of my fellow kheldians tonight.

    As a side note...Pete really does like /e flex1, doesn't he?
  3. If new builds included asymmetrical bodies, then I'd probably vote for that. Animated hair would be pretty nice, though.

Unfortunately, I'm at work right now, so it'll be quite a few hours until I could. And I'm not entirely sure I have it anymore, as that build was a previous version of what I am running now. But basically, you take the dwarf form as a mule, so that you can slot up it's attacks with kinetic combats and softcap your SL defense, and using purples and other stuff to get to 170%~ recharge.
  5. I don't see it as necessary, personally. Aside from a few "special" types, most of them are so common and replaced so fast that it doesn't really matter. If they did have such a prompt, it would probably lead to them putting in a "Do you really want to use this?" prompt, which would be a very bad idea, indeed.
  6. Would be nice to see, no doubt, but they should probably work on making sure they get the tokens/points situation stabilized first. I know a guy that hasn't been given any points (from his stipend) since October, and as far as I know the Devs still haven't fixed that for him.
  7. It depends on what you value more.

    Warshades have:
    1. Damage/Mezz auras
    2. A power that restores your health/end by using corpses nearby
    3. The ability to summon out multiple pets that deal good ranged damage
    4. A power that can be perma'd that has the ability to take you to damage resistance cap for everything, provided you have enough enemies to saturate it
    5. The ability to stack stuns as mitigation to keep from being mezzed
    6. TP and Recall Friend
    7. Corpse blasting

    Peacebringers have:
    1. Entirely self contained survivability
    2. A self heal and a dull pain clone
    3. The ability to perma a power that can give you capped damage resistance to everything (except psi), albeit with a periodic moderate crash to health/endurance
    4. Mitigation in the form of knockback
    5. The maneuverability of fly/hover

Note that a couple of those are paid for powersets, which a person coming back for a limited time may or may not be willing to splurge for.

That said, OP, you no longer have to pay to play the game, so if money is an issue you needent leave when your time card is up.

First of all the raids aren't Hard. They have some gimmicks that if you have run the Apex trial you have seen before. Glowing spots on the ground - check - unresisted damage DoTing you to death - check.

The BaF I ran last night and the prisoner escape sequence is flatout silly. I found within 20 seconds they ran a pre-determined path. I stood at the end of the path where they turned - with Chilling Embrace on and using Shiver and Shockwave and not a single prisoner escaped.

It wasn't even close. Then the hard part take down 2 AV's at the same time. Well since we herded them together and we were spamming them with AoE's it wasn't until they had 25% health left we even had to worry about it. Then it was figure out which one we were killing easier and kill the other one first.

Bingo - done in less than 15 minutes.

Then a nice stroll on a Lam - in which the only threat was lag - I died once due to a lag death otherwise we had zero problems - except due to not enough debuffs we had to use a couple grenades. So no badge since we used 3.

If you can read - the trials are easy. It says in big letters - this is now happening - then it happens. I was actually interested in seeing what everyone found so hard, I don't see it. They were not even in the same realm as trying to solo a Purple level Proton. He is far harder and requires some planning.

Color me not impressed. I would prefer a larger critter with a few effects that make the fight interesting to power spamming.
You're just now getting around to i20 content? Better hurry up, i22 is around the corner.

I'm wondering if it is because there is a timer on side-switching that even the tokens follow. That is, I tried to use to token to close to when I had turned to Villain using tips.
I'm sure I'm over thinking it, but could it be because you were in a zone that heroes could not have access to? Perhaps you could try again in Pocket D or RWZ?
  11. Where were you when you tried to claim it?

It probably did. You told me to put the smashing damage in. I did. And then you told me to take it out. I did. And now here we are. Talking about my build in a thread about set bonuses.

I think you sent me a build sketch that used the lockdown proc in G Well at the end (I remember being reminded of one of Alien's builds since he does that too) and that's when I suggested the change.
Yes, I took your initial advice to stick to unbreakable restraint in the build, and then you told me to take it (the proc) out. And so here we are, with you asking why it isn't in.

  14. I didn't realize this was a "Critique my build" thread.

I'm relatively sure the word lockdown was never mentioned (definitely not by me), but I can look that up when I get home.

Oh? Because I have a chatlog of you saying the opposite.
  16. Greetings, brother Warshades. I think it is my turn?

  17. Since alternate sets have already been suggested, I just want to point out (in case you weren't already aware) that Cloak of Darkness can be changed in the tailor so that it doesn't hide your costume. Just pick the "No Fade/Pulse" option.

As to your end issues, yes, Dark Armor can be downright nasty until you start picking up all the nice IOs to fix that. Until you get a final build going, you'll want to use death shroud and cloak of fear sparingly, as well as managing your other toggles by turning them off when they won't be useful. Your attacks will also need to be frankenslotted highly (Damage, accuracy, and endurance), as they will be using the most endurance out of anything.

And finally, if Dark Armor just doesn't work for you anymore (and you've already done the other sets Sly mentioned), you may want to look into trying a human form Warshade (just don't pick up Shadow Cloak, as you can't change that in the tailor like you can for Dark Armor). The downside to this, obviously, is that you don't get the sword. You can also try energy aura (again skipping the combat invis toggle), as that will have endurance management abilities and can be colored to look dark-ish.
  18. Tonight was a Manticore TF.

Next week will be higher level content, so I can practice my new build (with hopefully less dying).

    Numina Question

Just a suggestion, but what you could do (if you want that 6th bonus) is just 6 slot health. Take a slot from your 6 slotted Radiant Aura, the rest of your slots from Lingering Radiation (it really only needs a base acc IO on a high recharge build IMO), and the endurance reduction from Weave, and you could use those to have it 6 slotted. You can then move the Miracle proc to your radiant aura, or save it for another character. If you went Ageless destiny, the lack of the Miracle proc won't matter.

Keep in mind I haven't actually looked at your build in mids, so I'm making a lot of assumptions.

While that fixes the headache problem, it now means that you'll be watching a 2D movie for the admission price of a 3D one.

I would hate to see how many tf's you consider tedious in this game. It's leagues better than Synapse. Or Shadow Shard TFs.

He has a T3 Alpha slot but I really pay no attention to it.
I could see you making a believable case for incarnate powers based off of the mechanic/tinkering theme of yours. Remember, having incarnate powers does not have to mean you are tied to the Well of Furies--quite the opposite, since you can unlock the alpha slot (and the rest, by extension) without having to visit Ouroboros and beat down Trapdoor and all that jazz.

For interface, it would not be unrealistic to assume that your wrench blows do some sort of debuff over time. Perhaps -tohit, from them getting blood/oil in their eyes? -Defense, -resistance, -speed, and even confusion procs would make sense as well, as repeated bludgeoning (especially to the head, for the confusion bit) would be increasingly detrimental to ones body.

For Judgement, it could be some device you made/repaired in your spare time. Or perhaps a new sudden mutation?

For lore, you could have built little drones, or repaired little clockwork soldiers to work for you.

Destiny could be barrier, and could be explained as you getting a second wind, as it were, and forcing a growth (or regrowth, if you want rebirth) of your outer skin layers to toughen you up.
