help a kheld newb out
PB has more hard-hitting melee attacks and feels more like a scrapper in human form. Warshade feels more like a blaster/controller in human form.
Both are a bit squishier than Scrappers until you get the tier 9 (Lightform or Eclipse), at which point they become VERY hard to kill (assuming you've got the recharge to keep it turned on most/all of the time), but that comes at level 38, so, yeah. Neither gets protection from holds and such in human form, though at high levels you can mitigate that by building for defense.
It depends on what you value more.
Warshades have:
- Damage/Mezz auras
- A power that restores your health/end by using corpses nearby
- The ability to summon out multiple pets that deal good ranged damage
- A power that can be perma'd that has the ability to take you to damage resistance cap for everything, provided you have enough enemies to saturate it
- The ability to stack stuns as mitigation to keep from being mezzed
- TP and Recall Friend
- Corpse blasting
Peacebringers have:
- Entirely self contained survivability
- A self heal and a dull pain clone
- The ability to perma a power that can give you capped damage resistance to everything (except psi), albeit with a periodic moderate crash to health/endurance
- Mitigation in the form of knockback
- The maneuverability of fly/hover
I have a Warshade and a Peacebringer at 50, as well as several at lower levels. I prefer Tri-forming and I prefer Warshades . . . but I am a Controller at heart.
The PB relies less on form shifting and is far more scrapper-ish. I find I spend a lot more time in Human form on my PB than on my WS. I think it is pretty clear that a PB will probably fit your request better than a WS.
I would suggest that you make sure you take Hasten on either one. You may want to consider keeping the Dwarf form, at least leveling up, for getting out of mez. Later if you have a build with lots of defense, you may not need Dwarf form as much.
LOCAL MAN! The most famous hero of all. There are more newspaper stories about me than anyone else. "Local Man wins Medal of Honor." "Local Man opens Animal Shelter." "Local Man Charged with..." (Um, forget about that one.)

If it helps, this is small taste of what a humanform warshade could look like.
I don't have one of my PB yet.

Talen_Lee: Taking absorb pain is like branding 'H' on your forehead. Which stands for 'Failure'
Scarf_Girl: ever since I six slotted my Rp with cyber/emo Hami-O enhancements they haven't been able to touch me
I love watching human-form Warshades kick butt.
"Alien
76 characters and Twenty-four 50s later, I still love this game.

Ok, well, it turns out I still have that build...
However, I really can't recommend it, so I'd rather not post it. If you want, I can send it to you, but the reason I respec'd out of it was that it's blue bar was...for the lack of a better word, anemic. A couple attacks, and you were forced to pop a blue or use Stygian Circle.
So, let me know if you still want to see it, or I can show you my new build. The new one has less defense, but I am much more satisfied with it overall.
ok, so i've spent the majority of my 5 years on this game playing melee, and though i enjoy it, it's time to branch out.
i've always wanted to try Khelds, but never gotten one up past squid form, and that's what kills it for me. i HATE the other forms, not that look of the forms, not the shift in powers and playstyles, but the alien forms kill my immersion. i am not a numbers guy, i play because i love superheroes, and i want to use one of these AT's, so i have decided to go human form only.
now my question is, which one (PB or WS) makes a "better" human only build? and by better i mean which one has better survivability or soloabilty in human form. i have cool concepts for both, but as a semi-squishy, nit sure which one will translate better from a mostly melee point of view.
i've read the guides, but with absolutely no Kheld experience all that data seems vague...
help a newb out with your experiences, and any suggestions for power combos/playstyles/tactics are greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance.
Oh yeah, that was the time that girl got her whatchamacallit stuck in that guys dooblickitz and then what his name did that thing with the lizards and it cleared right up.
