  1. How's Bonfire with the Overwhelming Force proc? I've got a few of those I could use.
  2. I've had good success with a Sonic/Sonic defender and Fire/Thermal corruptor. Sonic matures early and provides resistance, something most characters can't get. Thermal does everything: shields, heals, buffs, debuffs, and an awesome rez.

The best support character I've played was an Earth/Thermal controller. So much support it doesn't border on the ridiculous, it annexed it.
  3. Released:

    Black Body
    Galaxy Guy
    Juicebox Hero
    Burn Victim
    Battleborne
    Nemean
    Disavowed

Very solid team character, and matures very fast. You're pretty much ready to rock before you out-level the Posi TF's. All of your shields, two solid res debuffs, a decent ST chain, a respectable cone attack all by level 16 if you want it. And since set bonuses don't provide the same stupid levels of resistance as they do defence, you're not made superfluous in higher level content.

The downside being that because you're not healing, and your buffs are fairly subtle, teams are less likely to notice that you just turned them all into tankmages.
  5. Well done. I actually remember seeing the Imperial's impressive VV page back in the day, so it's good to see it's still around. Great work.
  6. I like my Beast/Pain, alternating World of Pain and Fortify Pack to keep my pets survivable, or both when things get real messy. Painbringer is a nice buff for the Dire Wolf who gulps down endurance. Personally, I think Beast/Pain has as much synergy as any combo you'll find and makes a fun and effective character, but neither are top tier sets so that's to be considered if you're set on top end performance.

I don't think I'd pair Pain with Beam Rifle. While the pairing would work, Pain is a busy set and the constant redraw would be distracting. I do really like Beam Rifle though, with a Beam/Dev blaster that I love, and Beam/Traps corruptor that's become my main character.

Pain does have one difference between Corrs and MM's. For MM's Suppress Pain is a PBAoE +regen toggle, and for Corr's it becomes Soothing Aura, a PBAoE toggle with a periodic minor heal. I prefer the MM version, but opinions on that vary.

When it started costing a hundred million dollars to make a movie?
  8. Sure, that'd be great. I guess what I really want to know is are there any bad or skippable powers. A F/F/F build would be great though as that's the plan for epic pool as well.
  9. There's the cardboard Recluse display at the comic shop, and I'm pretty sure Sweatpants guy is usually wearing a CoH t-shirt.
  10. Yeah, threads on this pop up every couple months.

The comic shop in particular has a lot of stuff.
  11. Anyone have a levelling build for a Fire/Fire Dom. I'm mostly interested in which powers you would recommend as I will be levelling one of these to 50 (or thereabouts) over the Double XP weekend. Won't be throwing in set IO's, aside from any useful drops, so an 'SO' build is what I'm hoping for.

    Thanks.

As long as they don't clip with almost every style of boots I'll be happy. A pants option that isn't the acid wash jeans from the pocket D pack would be nice just for variety.

Things that won't run from a Brute or Tank will run from a Scrapper because the damage Burn deals overpowers their desire to kill you. Most things will run away when you deal enough damage in a short enough period of time if you give them the chance to.
Indeed. Turns out, people don't like being lit on fire. While I can't back up this claim with scientific data, I feel it is a solid theory which also applies to pixel-based fascists and swamp monsters.
  14. Jeremy Renner is also in an early episode of Angel as a serial killer vampire.

    Are you a scrapper?
  16. Reminds me of the lady who came into our store once to order stuff for delivery, but wouldn't give us her phone number or address.

    It's milk and eggs, *****.
  18. I'm currently liking Indigo and Crimson's arcs, especially World Wide Red. My energy/energy brute has gone the last 3 levels tearing through Malta.
  19. Playing my Archery/TA today, I'd like to see Acid Arrow altered to something like Glue Arrow. No ToHit check, and a lasting debuff area so that enemies moving into the area get the debuff as well. Split the current crap damage to half toxic and half energy so that it'll light OSA.

While I don't know about Archery, fighting against Demolitionists made me wish for a burn patch type effect added to Blazing Arrow when it hits. Would be fun.

    And so was Simon Pegg.

Edit: And James McAvoy. Got the whole X-Men First Class in there.
  21. Even though I don't have the time to participate, I think it's a great idea.

    Another comic inspiration, Proof.
  22. One fix for Energy Melee I would heartily endorse would be fixing the power order for Tankers so it matched the other AT's. Wouldn't be drastic, but getting a heavy hitter 7 levels earlier, 28 rather than 35, would be nice for Tankers. No one takes Stun anyway, so it would also let them get an APP selection earlier as well.

Indeed. Damage increase from tier 9's should be somewhere around infinity percent for a lot of people.
