"Mr. McCauley?"
Will sat at his desk going over the reports. "Yes, but it's actually Deputy Command..." His voice trailed off as he saw the woman in his door.
A touch over six feet tall, fit, beautiful, and covered head-to-toe in metal. Not armor, but as though her skin was actually made of metal. Stop gawking. Stop gawking.
"Uh, yes, what can I do for you Miss..."
She stepped into the room and closed the door behind her. "Dianne. Dr. Dianne Stanford." She reached out to shake his hand, before pulling it back, self-consciously.
"Dr. Stanford? I've seen you around the precinct before, only you weren't...uh..." he was at a loss for words.
"Covered in a swarm of symbiotic, bio-mechanical nanites of unknown origin? Yeeeeaaah, that's pretty new. Thanks for noticing."
Will scratched his head for a moment, pondering the situation. "So, Dianne, what is it I can do for you?"
"Uh, well, this..." she gestured towards her metallic skin, "...well, we, uh. The chief sent me to you. We've been studying this in the Frink Tank since the accident last month."
"Frink Tank?"
"Oh, that's what we call the reverse engineering lab. Dr. Holden's a big Simpson's fan. You know... the professor..." she trails off. "Anyway we want to see what the nanites are capable of in the field."
Will knew of the lab; had even sent his fair share of unknown objects down there for study. "So the Chief sent you to me. Great... great!" He turned and headed back to his chair. "Meet us at the King's Row train station at 1900 hours tomorrow."
He watched her, trying to gauge her reaction, unsuccessfully. "Okay, I'll be there." She turned to leave.
"Oh, doc. Do you have any field experience? Combat training?"
"Well, I took a Tae Bo class for a few months. See you tomorrow."
As the door closed behind her Will leaned back in his chair. "Awesome. This is going to go great." First that business with Jones, then the werewolf, last minute news that Mags was going to visit his daughter in Boston for a week or two, and now a research scientist with no combat experience tagging along in the thick of it.
"I need a drink." -
Maybe she got the name because of her 'prickly' personality. She's kind of a *****.

Quote:There was a bonus, however, you did miss out on. If you had subscribed in July, you would get 400 Paragon Points a month until FREEDOM was released. But once FREEDOM goes Live, you'll get 400 Paragon Points each month after that.
Hmmm... I didn't even know about that. Guess I won't have to wait two months extra for StJ afterall. -
Got my Merc/Storm, Atmospherical, from 22 to 32 yesterday, which in MM-speak is from 'suck to awesome'. That was about it. Also fiddled a bit with StJ on the beta server.

Second Spec Ops + Commando. It's a good afternoon to be evil it seems.
-
As I figured, I'm getting almost nothing accomplished.
-
I plan to pair it with SD or WP for starters. I like the way the animations incorporate the shield. And Spinning Strike... swoon. Right before I installed beta I was thinking about how I was hoping they used a spinning back fist. And there it was! Followed by a spinning back kick!
Now I just have to figure out whether SD or WP works better for my concept. And find the animation for Spring Attack so I can check that out. -
Lowrider - WAR
A few songs by the Canadian bands that pretty much dominate my collection...
King of Poison by Wide Mouth Mason
I am the Night, Colour me Black by Priestess (if you need a pick-me-up)
Money City Maniacs by Sloan
Bridge to Nowhere by Sam Roberts
Will You Wash Away by the Trews
Sometimes Wanna Die by Joydrop -
Personally I'd settle for Patrick Stewart doing a dramatic reading of the Fresh Prince of Bel-air theme.
-
I'll likely re-roll/re-conceptualize Moxie Girl from Kin/SR to SJ/SD when Street Justice drops.
-
Some excellent suggestions, although I do believe Jake Lloyd is getting a little big for most people to use as a weapon. Not me personally, but most people.
-
Apparently I'll be working on Atmospherical, my Merc/Storm MM.

My vote goes to Earth/Thermal.

Me likey.
And yeah, all tanker attacks have the PBAoE portion reflecting gauntlet's effects. Confuses a lot of people. -
I don't run CoF on my DB/DA brute that much, although that is more because it isn't slotted yet than anything else. I run OG on my Elec/DA scrapper, but since I despise disorient, it also doesn't get much use. I prefer CoF to OG because enemies will just cower, rather than wander off.
DA is certainly sturdier on a brute with more HP and the ability to reach higher resistance caps, but is an excellent set on either a scrapper or a brute. -
So, as an avid fan of tankers and the play style, I'm looking for something a little different. And by 'a little' I mean completely different. I want something that'll go from a standstill to scorched earth in the shortest amount of time possible. Just as importantly it needs to be able to do this on the way to level 50, since I rarely play a character much after it hits 50. It doesn't need survivability in any shape or form, in fact I'd almost prefer it didn't, just a lot of shock and awe.
I'm currently thinking Fire/Fire or Fire/MM blaster for this particular character, though I'm open to other suggestions.
So, thoughts? -
Given that every pet in the set has a self-heal after level 32, I think the addition of defence is probably going to improve the survivability a good deal. I went /poison, go figure. Necro/Traps is likely one of those combos that doesn't get a lot of play/publicity due the apparent differences in concept (ie. magic vs tech), but I think an army of cyborg zombies backed by a madman is pretty damned awesome.
As far as weaknesses, I think they cover each other fairly well with weak pets (with heals) being covered by the FFG (but lacking a heal otherwise).
Also, flamethrowers. -

Why Martial Arts is awesome for you, not for bad guys...
Ha! Now he has to deal with us one at a time!
Or not!

That's what knockback's for: exploiting geometry to provide exceptional mitigation through relocation.
That map is fun, though, for putting whole groups into the barrier and smashing there helpless bodies into mangled corpses. Heroically of course. -
Would love a reduction in minimums, at the least down to 4 since that would let both of the static teams I'm in to roll some new content. Well new for me since I've done almost no TF's, and no SF's in my almost 6 years of playing.
