Hmmmm, wild speculation, but I wonder if they might skip open beta for I14, and go straight from closed beta to release?
It'd be a break from tradition, but they might just feel that as non-MA gameplay's essentially unchanged, and there might not be that many extra open beta'ers interested in MA (as compared to new power sets, zones, etc...) they could get away with it.
In that event, and given the number of weeks they've had in US closed beta, they could just about get it out next week... -
Perhaps others can recommend a specific one, but in the meantime there's plenty to choose from here.

You do have to wonder though, will we still get the free booster pack if we get the Architect edition as a download? Or is it just in the box that we're not getting?
[/ QUOTE ]
Another thing that only the yanks get, just like actual contact from the Devs, closed Beta invites, etc...
(Yeah, we're getting closed betas now, but for the first time ever since launchwoop de doo )

WHY WON'T YOU LOVE US!!
Oh wait, I don't actually care too much if some US developers don't have the time to answer questions which they've probably already addressed on the US servers anyway.

Oi! What sort of persecuted Euro-attitude is that meant to be, Carni!
Now slouch down and look all resentful like the rest of us. -
All the best, Col - hope the job hunting goes well, and to see you back here soon.

I think 75% resistance really does stop 75% of incoming damage (and FWIW so does ParagonWiki).
Bear in mind that different types of damage are resisted separately though, and while an Inv/ tank could certainly have 75% resist against s/l damage it's likely to have a good bit less against all other types (and zero against psi, barring set bonuses!). -

Do you agree?
Or can you settle the ticking bomb that is my mind and appease me
[/ QUOTE ]
Available answers seem to be:
1) Yes
2) No
3) Impossible to say until I14's actually released and we see what happens
I'll vote for (3). As I14/MA's going to roll out shortly whatever we say or predict, go with the flow. -
Re. some of yesterday's posts, a clarification from Posi on MA tickets and how they can be accumulated:
Start quote
Over the weekend I posted:
[ QUOTE ]
When people play your arcs, tickets earned that way go into a pool.
You can then claim tickets out of that pool onto any character.
[/ QUOTE ]
And a few of you said "Please let Merits work the same way".
I don't think a few of you understood me correctly the first time.
>>When other people play your arcs.<<
The idea is that, since creating MA content is account-wide (anything you write can be "published from" any character on your account), that the tickets generated from other people go into a pool. You can then claim tickets out of that pool on any character on your account.
HOWEVER, when you PLAY Mission Architect content, tickets you earn are exactly like Merits. They are earned ON that character, and can not be traded.
Merits already work like this, and there is no correlation to the account-based publishing for Merits to "work the same way" for.
Now if you are simply asking that Merits be a tradable resource, or even trade-within-account, I am sorry, but that's not going to happen. Characters of different levels earn Merits at different rates. Merits are supposed to streamline the reward process for that character, and that's not going to be changing any time soon.
End quote
So it looks like the tickets are both account level (for MA missions you write) and toon level (for MA missions you play). -
That's a very reasonable amount of time for something of that complexity.
-
[ QUOTE ]
Hmmm. Interesting quote from Posi about the MA Ticket Rewards :
[ QUOTE ]
When people play your arcs, tickets earned that way go into a pool.
You can then claim tickets out of that pool onto any character.
[/ QUOTE ]
So, unlike Merits which I was giving out about last week, it seems the Devs like the idea of MA Tickets being shared across alts.
Linky-poos
[/ QUOTE ]
At one level I can see that making sense; Merits are earnt by one toon completing a specific task "in character", while MA items are much more account-oriented concepts.
On the other hand, it looks like MA Tickets are redeemed at toon rather than account level, which undermines things a bit. -
[ QUOTE ]
Thats great if the stories are easily selectable, flagged and uploaded as active and able to be deselected to inactive without losing the story.
We'll have to set up some request thread for highly rated arcs to be made active on a rotating or request basis as I'm sure creative players will come up with more than a couple of great ones.
[/ QUOTE ]
If they're that good they'll hopeful get a high enough rating to be moved into the Hall of Fame (or some such) for permanent availability, and an account slot freed up.
Alternatively if it's RP-type story related, IIRC someone can take the rest of their team into a non-published arc of theirs, so as long as you're telling your own story you could set up as many accessible arcs as you wanted. -

When the news broke, only a handful of people did not join the doom-mongering crowd.
[/ QUOTE ]
One of them was me. Unsurprisingly, I was right.
The next time you think something terrible is going to happen, just feel free to ask me for your opinion instead, I'm happy to demonstrate common sense to you all again.
[/ QUOTE ]
You also do a good line in modesty I hear.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think you'll find that I'm actually far more modest than him. -
I can't remember the last time EU server status actually did work; definitely not this year, probably not last, very possibly not for a year or two before last.
As far as anyone can tell the official position seems to be "doesn't work, not planning to fix it or remove it outright". -
Of course, they're really doing this to distract everyone from the /Regen nerf.

As you sow, so you reap, etc...
Friends don't stomp in saying they're fed up and deserve something.
Remember, in these forum's you're primarily posting to other players; if you want to ask NCSoft a question, send them an email. -
....OOOOOM. Because it has to be said, irrespective of the facts.
That said, looking very nice! -

You all know that this is a bunch of information I gathered from several sites, and I typed it all out in a 5 minute rush. I do not have an idea if it is right or wrong.
[/ QUOTE ]
You know, I don't think we do know that at all. Other than the OP the only post you've made to this thread seems to be this one, and the only disclaimer in that is that you were typing fast. If you said it was a assembled from other sites' fragments in the OP I'm damned if I can find it - must be lost in the wall of text.
[ QUOTE ]
I was just posting it so I could get people to point out what is correct and not correct, and thankyou for those that did. Although I did call someone something un-reasonable lol.
[/ QUOTE ]
Your post opens
"this is my info on why i would pick a pb
I typed all this out to help you choose what you will pick outta pb or ws, as I can easily tell you cba to lvl them both up lol, I am gonna type this fast so there might be a lotta typos"
How on earth is that meant to be a request for people to point out what's correct? "I typed all this out to help you choose what you will pick", and finishing with "hope it helps" sounds like a guide to me, not a request for info.
[ QUOTE ]
As I said before I just typed out a bunch of info from several sites, not having a clue if it is false or correct.
[/ QUOTE ]
Really can't see where you said that.
[ QUOTE ]
Please don't bother posting anything on these forums saying peoples posts are a joke and that it is the worst post ever on the forum. After all does that make you feel better, does that make your post any better than what I had put?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes.
[ QUOTE ]
I can't say my post was bad though, it is just a bunch of info, hoping people can point out anything correct and wrong, once again thankyou for those that did.
[/ QUOTE ]
If nothing else it was poor at pointing out what it was meant to be; from the OP it really does look like it's meant to be a guide. -

[ QUOTE ]
Now I will have to sort through this mess and find out if there are any posts yet on if this means that there won't be any further EU meets ...
[/ QUOTE ]
All future EU meets will be held in the US. Since people had to travel to get to them anyway - they may as well travel somewhere warm and sunny

Be careful when you say that - and remember to take your sun lounger to the Alaska 2010 Meet. -

[ QUOTE ]
This is me. Since the abomination of Merits, I've had to choose two or maybe three alts to work on IOing out. All the others just have to get by with SOs. I'd be for trading Merits between alts on one account but nothing further otherwise it defeats the object of them as has been said.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't get this. How is this any different than before merits? Before merits the only way to get "expensive IOs" was through TF/SFs and trials (not counting purples, for purples things changed even less than for other IOs). Now for most TFs you get more than just the single random roll you got first, you get extra merits for story arcs where you previously would've gotten nothing and all the 'regular' IO drops from foes stayed the same. So how do you manage to get LESS toons IOed out than before?
[/ QUOTE ]
Before merits people would run TFs/SFs to try to get recipes they were after, and have no choice other than a random reward at the end. A lot of the time they'd be unlucky in that, and get a recipe that was unusable by their toon (heal set for SR scrapper, melee set for a defender, etc...) - these would find their way to the AH, in the hope of making a bit of inf as a consolation prize.
With merits, though, people can do a few more TFs/SFs and be sure of getting the exact recipe they want.
End result - fewer "wrong" recipes in the AH for everyone else to bid for. -
[ QUOTE ]
It's not so much looked down upon, it's just that some of us find it difficult to see the point.
[/ QUOTE ]
It varies; I'm in the "can't see the point" camp, but have no problems at all with farmers off doing their thang on some map or the other, so long as they don't bother me. (Hint to farmers: repeated "join my team for 5 minutes?" tells count as bothering...)
Others, though, regard farming as the source of many of the evils in the world (n00bs in Peregrine, inflated AH prices, merit nerfs, global warming) and they do look down (or worse) on farmers. -
[ QUOTE ]
I was going to post another thread about farming, my question being:
Is farming looked down upon now, or is it just the state of the game?
[/ QUOTE ]
That's not really an "or" question; depending on who you ask you can get a "yes" to either (or maybe even both) options. -
Hoppy Birthday Blue Rabbit - hope you have a good one!
