    Fire/MM PvP.

So I've been meaning to PvP on a blaster for quite a while now, but im too lazy to level up a /EM, and I find its way to common. So I decided to spec my Fire/MM blaster into a PvP build.

I expect you'll all probably lol at this build as its my first take, but this is what im thinking:
    (all advise welcome!)

I wasn't really sure what to go for on a blaster so I went for DMG bonus recharge, HP and a bunch of other minor things mainly...

  3. Some of these builds make me lol and wonder if any of them EVER played a fire/kin. Fire/kin/fire benefit from enough recharge to keep fireball up as often as you can.

Slotting damage procs in hotfeet and fire cages works well on fire/kins as your damage should really be capped allready by FS, and the procs go off a lot more then you may think. Fire cages isn't somewhere people often put procs in but I find it works well if you spam FC in between some attacks.

I pulled my old fire/kin/fire build out (I now run with psi) and made some adjustments to it...

I imagine you'd tweak it a bit if you decide to use it but yeah take a look and see.

I didn't take cinders because the recharge on it is too long for a farming fire/kin to benefit from, i'd be weary on taking FF but I threw it in there for the additional purple set.
  4. Just thought I'd post this build up of my fire/regen, doesn't have fighting pool cas for zonal its a waste.

No wonder you were bitter. Why would you do ANY arc 4 times in one day??
Simply like I said, badge hunting is a big part of my game, dusted off some old 50's and did 1 day of AM, 1 day forPP and PJ another day, happened to be PJ was yesterday and so I did Tina's arc on most of them before Maria's as its a lot more tedious and I thought it'd be better to get it done first. Obviously after not doing either arc for over a year I forgot just how crappy it was.

  7. SoulTouch

    Pathetic.

Reading over, I guess I could understand why people got aggrevated with the 'tone' so to speak, of my post. It was after for the 4th time in that day that I was doing Tina's arc, and it just made me think how un imaginative can you get.
I just find it funny you all seem to have this thing about backing everything thats so horribly wrong in CoH as if its your husband/wife. Please!
  8. SoulTouch

    Pathetic.

Let me start off by saying I dont care if i'm posting this in the wrong section of the forums, this has got to the point of a joke. I recently picked up a few old 50's to get some badges on and got to the portal jockey.. Solo'd maria's heros hero arc easily. Then tina's arc came along for that stupid anti-matter. Why the hell do designers of these story arcs have SO little imagination. My 8 year old sister has more imagination then this. Not only is like every single mission a bloody robot defeat all, its on the same damn map. Not only that after a good hour into the contact you finally get to fight the AV but no, oh no, it doesn't count because for some stupid reason you dont actually 'defeat' him. Have to wait another billion hours to get another mission with him in it.

    Damn.
  9. I have noticed it for the past week on my fire/MM blaster - I tested on my fire/kin corruptor to see if its the same for her, but didn't seem to be...
  10. Lord, its a GAME. stop turning every little thing into some big deal. Build a damn bridge and get over it!
  11. If possible, put me on a 90% sure coming on a kat/regen (Kohav) I play from England, so need to work out what time your timing is for me.

Everything gets boring after a certain point, for those with say 20.. 10.. even 5 50's doing the same task to switch from side to side, and as you all seem to think its not gonna be a fast side switch, things WILL get boring. MMO or not, I think they should plan it out long and hard how the side switching system will work, rather then rush into things.
  13. Personally I feel if I'm gonna have to constantly do missions or whatever it is it takes for a hero to become a villain and a villain to become a hero, I'm gonna get pretty pissed off.
  14. I get the funny feeling that Sentry and that new reg'd - i'm on a trial account, I can't spell noob guy, is the same person....

The incapability to do multiple quotes gave it away.
  15. My friend asked me 2 weeks ago to make her a fire/regen build, so I did, she respeced into it and has loved it since... She says its not the best for duels, but you are saying you mainly want it for zonal, which is what its built for. I'd expect you would tweak it a bit or w/e. But for the record, I don't claim this to be some pwnwinyo PvP build, its pretty cheap considering the pure PvP io's builds you see flying around. >.>

  16. I might get flamed for this, but considering you've only recently started playing i'd go for unsubbing the EU account and purchasing the NA version of the game, your bound to be more satisfied with the population on some of the servers here, I used to play exclusivley on Defiant for a good number of years till this time last year I purchased a NA account and have not regretted my decision since. =]]

and those who say "I'll pvp your kat if you don't use DA." yeah, right.

I agree, but if we agree before the match no acco's no insps and then he goes over that, it's a bit un fair. Not that I care now I was more interested to here peoples opinions on phasing scrappers :P
  21. Hello all,
I've recently finished IO'ng out my kat/regen and I loved it, so I decided to roll a elec/regen, just because Elec was a lot of fun for me on villains as a stalker... I noticed on my first build that it was pretty weak when I would duel against my friends who used BS or Kat cas of parry and DA so I decided to spec my elec/regen not for zonal but strictly duels/pve (my kat/regen is zonal) and took phase shift.. Now i've had roughly 30 duels on that toon in the past 10 days, and not once have I heard anyone say lolphase, till last night.. againts a Spines/regen who started to get really annoyed over phase shift and decided it was then fair to use his one hundred and one accolades on me to beat me, I HAD up untill then an almost 100% record in the arena, so it kinda ticked me off especially as before the match we said no insps no accolades...

When we got back out to RV I asked what that was all about and he had the following to say [Tell] <Name here>: u have and electric /regen..with phase..everyone knows phase on a scrapper is gay...

Maybe i've missed something but since when was taking phase on a scrapper "gay?"

Actually I have a good friend who plays both EU and US and has a good rad/EM blaster
  23. Went on my old EU accounts for a bit to catch up with old friends, was good fun, managed to squeeze a STF in there too.

On US, I deleted my lvl 50 rad/kin corrrrr, then level'd my pvp elec/regen scrapper to 50, helped a friend on her "i'm getting 5 50's this weekend situation." Farmed for roughly 24 hours of play time on my fire/kin which resulted in 1.2 billion inf through drops etc.

Use teh inf to deck out my elec/regen, and what was left needed on my kat/regen.

So yeah.. this DXP got my lvl 50's count to 38 too, which I think is the same as the OP's.

If the team picks a storm up and is expecting the stormy to act as a healer, the team mis-understands the purpose and point of O2 boost just as much as the player.

Who said anything about everybody on the team? I don't see very many empaths laying Clear Mind on every single player they come across. I don't see therm-rads laying Thaw on everybody they come across. I don't see forcefields or sonic's trying to keep their big anti-mez bubbles over everybody in the team.

Most of these players figure out when, and who, to put their anti-mezzes on. For some reason, this simple teaming ability is lost on a fast majority of players that take kinetics.

No deary. It's called being stupidand ticking off other players who then laugh about the idiot in question in private channels. Maybe you should try understanding the archtypes instead.

I'm not even going to continue with this cas I can see this turning into another one of those lame arguments. Yes you are correct. I am wrong.

Anyways, many of the builds that I see as what the heck... well. Other's don't. I've been called lots of things... from fascist.. to stupid... to you're a sheep my friend... when asking players what's up with their builds. I think the sheep one bugs me the most. I'm a cat... not a sheep.

I mean, maybe it's just me... but a kin defender? Not taking increased density? Storm's not taking O2 boost? Kinetic Controllers trying to build to fight in melee like a scrapper? Blaster's trying to build to fight in melee like a scrapper?

Pardon my half-formed rants as I lose focus in a fit of rage... If I had to single out the worst build that I've personally seen... it was on a ... we were in South Skyway and not for Babbage... so it had to have been a Sis Psyche. Invuln tank had taken his first defense... three attacks. And then nothing but pool powers. His reasoning? I want to be a well balanced tank!

The second worst build(s) I've seen was a petless mastermind with Force Field. Their reasoning was Bubbly's not available on corruptors, so I made a mastermind instead... I saw a couple more of those when Poison hit the Mastermind sets.

That being said, I have made my own set of catastrophic build errors... like skipping Plasma Shield on a Fire Tank... and taking fly on said fire tank. On an SR stalker I skipped over practiced brawler and went for Acrocatics. I took Blazing Aura on a blaster with Fire Manip. Yeah. What was I thinking. WAS I thinking?

1)02 Boost is one of the most annoying powers I ever had to take on a stormy, teams instantly think you're the empath of the team. Want a troller that can heal get an empath or a kin
2)Some people again hate the though of having to ID everyone in the team, SB'ng them is enough
3)For the blasters and trollers trying to be like scrappers, its called thinking outside the box hun, you should try it.
