    So far my PC/NA isn't even 30 yet but I've already decided to drop Spirit Tree (Lifegiving Spores makes it redundant) and Wild Growth (nothing really wrong with this one, I just don't like it). I fooled around with Mids to see what kind of Def and recharge I could get if money was no object. Perhaps some people might be interested.

    I've been fooling around with designs for i24 with it's big changes to snipes and nukes. I've always enjoyed Photon Volley so having it actually become a useful power is great for me. I don't use Neutron Bomb as much as I should so swapping it for Atomic Blast is pretty trivial. The big problem is I dropped Tactics a long time ago so getting to perma snipe casued some painful choices. Also the change to procs means my current basic attack (a proc filled Neutrion Bolt) isn't going to work as well. My tentative plan is to try changing to this.

  3. This is way out there. But I had an idea that might be interesting. What if Kick was made an inherent power like Brawl? The name alone alway made me think it was a ability anyone should have. At least Boxing sounds like something you would have to actually train in and the two powers are really redundant.

    Then if a player takes Boxing you give them enhanced effects from Kick and Brawl and if some one takes Crosscut and Boxing all 4 powers become a reasonable attack chain. This frees up the Kick slot in the Fighting pool without breaking the cottage rule. I liked Kyriani's idea of a simple passive power (Situational Awareness or Eye of the Tiger) that gave +to hit and +perception best but Arcanaville's Tempered Focus sounds good too.

    Edit: I was rethinking the passive idea. Perhaps to make the set more cohesive it might be better to make Eye of the Tiger a toggle so it feels more like Tough and Weave. It would have to have better values than the passive, sort of a self only version of Tactics.

    Rad/Rad build

    Thanks bjay0801. I had a look at your build and the first thing that jumped out at me is you have a lot of attacks. One thing about rad/rad is we generally want to have high + to recharge so we can get permanent Accelerate Metabolism. As a byproduct of this is our attacks come back up really fast. You might want to look at some of the attacks you find aren't working for you and swap them out for things like Combat Jumping and Assault. Speaking of AM you want to get it recharge a lot closer to 120 seconds. I don't think triple slotting with recharge reductions is needed but you could use the End Mod/Recharge from both EA and PS sets to get it's recharge much lower.

    I like 1 slot Vengeance as a easy way to get some recharge (using Luck of the Gambler) but I try to follow up using it with Mutation so they poor sap I'm taking advantage of get something out of it. Of course Mutation doesn't really do you any good directly but it can make teammate happy so I try to always have it.

    How often do you use Radiant Aura? If you use it enough to make the procs you have slotted useful the end drain must be harsh. They can only trigger when you activate the power. I would move the procs to Health (where they get a chance to trigger every 10 seconds) and slot RA with as much heal and end reduction as you can get.

    I really wanted to like Atomic Blast but having all my toggles drop was a pain. I eventually gave up on it and use EM Pulse as my "Get out of Danger" panic button. You have fewer toggles and could do something like eat a small blue then use Power Sink to fully recover so it might be less of a problem for you. Do you find AB seems to get you killed a lot?

    Rad/Rad build

    I have a rad/rad def I'm pretty happy with. I didn't get flight so that might be a problem for you. I do have Combat Jumping for some def and minor mobility and Proton Volley for no good reason other than I enjoy firing off photon torpedoes so it would be easy to switch to flight pool if you want to. I'll copy/paste my comment from the last rad/rad thread, nothing has really changed for her.

    I wanted my Rad/ Rad defender to be able to solo so I buffed up her defense as high as I could (actually I should pull some energy def out but I don't want to lose range def). Am I the only one that does this?

    For alpha slot I'm using Intuition Radial Paragon since I do so much holding (including Ion Radial Final Judgement) and ever other bonus given by this Alpha affects something I have.

    I've used boosters on some of the enhancements to eke out a few extra percentage points here and there. +5 levels in recharge reductions in Haste, Dam/End in the 2 attack powers I use alot (Neutrino Bolt and Irradiate), End/Hold in Choking Cloud, End Mod in Stamina and End Reduction in Assault.

    Proton Volley is just in for the fun factor it has. If a fight looks like it might actually be dangerous I open with Radiation Infection followed by Lingering Radiation then Enervating Field. That doesn't leave much time for a snipe power even with my boosted range, you could easily skip this. When I picked up Summon Disruptor I thought it would also be just for fun but this guy does really good work. I've held EBs with his help and he can solo LTs safely. I have to use Lore pets if I want to take down anything above EB though.

    I don't like to miss so some Accuracy was vital so I feel the HamiO:Nucleolus is a must have. I had to make a choice between the pure damage vs Dam/End from the purple set but dropping the cost almost a 1/3 was too good to pass up. The Apocalypse and Touch of Lady Grey procs are great there isn't any better available and the Achilles' Heel is a nice boost. I have been thinking of replacing the Shield Breaker with the Gladiator's Javelin but that wouldn't actually directly increase the damage so much as change some of it to a less resisted type, and the amount of work needed would be pretty high. If I get enough Emp Merits I might do it.

    Another nice place for Procs is Irradiate, mine looks like this.

    Slotting Demons

    I played around a lot to see what I could do. Like the others I save some room by putting all 5 aura powers into Hell on Earth but then I used the extra slots to buff up the pets even more.

    For Demonlings I wanted to give them the Soulbound Allegiance proc but nothing else really mattered. I decided they would be a good spot to get the 4 slot bonus for Command of the Mastermind. Yes it waste some power on recharge which the pets ignore but adding a Edict Of the Master Acc/End for the last slot maxes out all the stuff I care about.

    I gave up on getting Ribosome HO for the Demons. They just cost too much. Instead I went with 3 Nucleolus HO and then 3 end/resist IO from the 3 level 50 sets. The PVP end/resist was a little pricey but still cheaper than a Ribosome. Oops I forgot that they had end problem with this setup. I had swapped in a Golgi to even things out. Just now I decided to switch to IO End and resist for the last two.

    Finally for the Prince I wanted to give him the Impeded Swiftness Chance of Damage and hoped to give him some bonus slow. I tired a lot of combinations. You can easily get max Acc, Dam and End with 5 slots but 4 is tricky especially if you want some sort of set bonus. I eventually gave up on getting a lot of slowing and just put in Tempered Readiness Acc/Dam/Slow which allowed me to then use 2 Souldbound and 2 Blood Mandate. This gives very little slow enhancement.
  9. Hi all, I've maxed out my Rad/Rad Defender with Incarnate powers (still need to get almost all the Accolades) and slotting. It helps that I didn't need much in the way of purple sets. I've played around in mids to see if there is any other setup I want to try and wanted to get the opinions of the community. Current I have this setup.

    For Alpha I'm using Intuition Radial Paragon since I do so much holding (including Ion Radial Final Judgement) and ever other bonus given by this Alpha affects something I have.

    I've used boosters on some of the enhancements to eke out a few extra percentage points here and there. +5 in both recharge reduction in Haste, Dam/End in the 2 attack powers I use alot, End/Hold in Choking Cloud and End in Stamina and Assault.

    I rarely use Neutron Bomb and have been thinking about about switching to Proton Volley. It's been a while since I used a snipe power but most of the time I'm just using NB to blast a spawn at the start of a fight. 5 slot Sting of the Manticore seem like a good choice. Perhaps grab a slot from Lingering or drop the Status Resist in Tough to add another proc.

    Another changes I've been thinking of is dropping Lingering Radiation to 4 slots. At 4 I could use 2 pair of Acc/Slow and End/Rech/Slow but I would lose the small global recharge.

    If anyone has a comment I would like to hear them.
  10. I just wanted to mention one incredibly narrow case where I used Efficacy Adaptor. On my defender with a lot of +global recharge I slot Accelerate Metabolism with:
    Efficacy Adaptor - EndMod
    Efficacy Adaptor - EndMod/Recharge
    Efficacy Adaptor - EndMod/Accuracy/Recharge
    Performance Shifter - EndMod/Recharge

    I chose this layout because it gave me just enough recharge to make AM permanent. I tried a lot of other setups in Mids but the 3 set bonus for Efficacy Adaptor is better than that of Performance Shifter and if I went to 4 PS pieces I would actually lose a small amount of Recovery since the extra 1% from the set bonus would be offset by the lose of EndMod percentage in AM itself.

    Pet Emote Binds

    I tried over and over to get a pet emote to work in a bind file. As a Demon Summoner sometimes the tier 2 pets screaming really gets on my nerves. I never succeeded.

    I am able to do it with a macro thought so I had to be happy with that. Even complex macros work fine. I just stick a few fun ones on power bar 9 and switch to it if I'm going to be waiting a while. Using goto command first will keep the pets from breaking out of the emote unless a player pushes them around a lot or you get attacked.
  12. One thing a Defender can do is combine Burnout with it's best friend Conserve Power. My Rad/Rad Def played with a combo of:
    Conserve Power -> Power Build Up -> EM Pulse -> Atomic Blast -> Eat a blue pill (anything better than tier 1 will do) -> Burnout -> EM Pulse -> Atomic Blast

    The double EM Pulse really wasn't needed as few things weren't held or killed already. I thought of a sillier combo but the number of powers required was just too much.

    If a teammate died I would use recall friend to the middle of the spawn then:
    Conserve Power -> Vengeance -> Power Build Up -> Aim -> EM Pulse -> Fallout -> Atomic Blast -> Eat a tier 3 blue -> Burnout -> Fallout -> Atomic Blast or if anything is still healthy after the second Fallout, use EM Pulse before the final Atomic Blast. Finally after I recover maybe a Mutation
  13. If you can get Ninja Run, that can be a decent travel power and is good for doing escort missions. A nice combo is Sprint with a stealth proc (it make no difference if you use the one from the Celerity set or Unbounded Leap and the latter is often much cheaper), Ninja Run and Super Speed. I started with an Endurance reduction in SS but switched to the KB protection from Blessing of the Zephyr set.

    You can't run SS and NR at the same time but I bound button 4 on my mouse to flip between them allowing me to make impressive jumps at almost no loss of speed. I do need to keep a Raptor Pack on my toolbar for bad situations but it really doesn't come up much and it's only 10k for 2 hours of flight. I don't like how the Rocket Board drops all my toggles but I use it for long trips in rough terrain.

    Rad/Rad build

    This is a subject I am quite interested in as well. My Rad/Rad Def is getting close to the final design I laid out and I'm trying to think of any improvements I can make. I'm still missing 2 enhancements (Armageddon - Chance for Fire Damage and Gladiator's Armor - TP Protection +3% Def (All)) from the following but otherwise she is done. She has perma Hasten combined with 45% Smash/Leathal/Energy (or will once I get 15 more Emp Merits to buy the Gladiator's Armor - TP Protection +3% Def (All)). My Alpha slot is the new Tier 4 which give 33% hold and damage as well as debuff and some range, very nice with all the holding she does but it not an option in the current version of Mids. The pet has been more useful than I thought it was going to be, I really just wanted Scorpion Shield but the powerful hold in Web Cocoon and and Summon Disruptor have made the hassle of going full circle hero - villain - hero worth it.

    If you are wondering how I get perma hasten I had to use 5 enhancement booster on one of the recharge reductions in hasten itself.
  15. Here's what I'm working towards. I play my MM more traditionally, let my pets tank the mobs and order them around from behind. I'm still missing some of the purples (I lucked out and got the damage enhancement for Soul Storm in a drop). One big ticket item was getting the PvP proc for Suppress Pain but it's effect is so good I felt it was worth it. All my Incarnate slots are tier 4. I'm running Clarion instead of Barrier because getting held and stunned was my biggest problem leveling up. One really fun thing to do is pop lore and buff the boss with Hell on Earth and Painbringer, it's total overkill but the big numbers make me happy.

    Other long term updates are swapping the end and slow in the Demon Prince for a pair of Microfilament Exposures and putting the rest of Apocalypse into Corruption along with a proc.

  16. I wondered about this. A week or so ago I was looking through my badges and noticed this one was close to completion. I figured I could street hunt in PI to finish it off. I think I only needed 10 more when I started so after killing almost a dozen I checked my badge status and still needed a few more. I just through I had been doing something wrong. I watched more closely but I wasn't being very scientific about it. I think I was getting credit for a little under half. I know I was stuck at 99/100 for 3 kills.
