  1. If they want to start a new comic... start with second-string heroes like Apex, War Witch and Horus instead of Statesman and Batmanticore.

If they wish to continue the old Blue King arcs (and maybe get Hickman to write it), I am all for it.
  2. You can set up a bind, but you'll have to hit it every time. There is no way to automate the process.

    As to PvP... couldn't say.
  3. I'd rather see Tennant as Evil Ed...
  4. The idea of dropping Focus Chi for Hurdle is a very wrong thing.
  5. Only when the power crits, yes.

No, brutes and tanks do not get the instant recharge.

Stalkers do get the instant recharge on crit for Build-Up.
  6. I'd personally suggest a Fire tank and a Kin/Sonic or Rad/Sonic defender.

Damage buffs plus resist debuffs plus the new Fiery Embrace plus Burn is a thing to see.
  7. Oddly enough, the acronym UEDC was used in Robotech of all things...

Of course, there it stood for United Earth Defense Council.
  8. Because scrappers play in melee, they might catch a few more KB effects that way.

Grab an anti-knockback IO (Steadfast, Karma or BotZ) and you'll do considerably better.
  9. Reminds me of the Cineverse Cycle, wherein the third book had the title Revenge of the Fluffy Bunnies.
  10. Having never played or looked at 4th edition (stopped at second, here)...

If I can have a wireless smartlink that will allow me to fire my pistols remotely, I'll take the chance of having it hacked, thanks.

"I shoot Mr. Johnson from the gun I left casually lying on the table..."
  11. I read a couple of novels by Jack Chalker... Twilight at the Well of Souls and Empire of Flux and Anchor are great titles. I still need brain bleach for those, though.

Star Trek novel: How Much for Just the Planet?

Special Topics in Calamity Physics: Marisha Pressl. Impulse buy at a used book store, haven't read it yet.

Alastair Reynolds has a couple of good ones, too: I picked up Revelation Space because it promised a starship named Nostalgia for Infinity.

Also: Go Go Girls of the Apocalypse.

The Baron's over level twenty but Arachnos Soldier isn't available.
Be sure to log in the Baron before you try to create an epic. You have to actually log in a character to get the 'unlock' message.

Also, be sure the Baron is a villain.

We'll focus entirely on technical studies of your chosen major, because colleges should only be about preparing you for the job market.

Especially at a "traditional liberal arts school."
  14. Obliteration in Death Shroud? Ouch on the blue bar...

Multistrikes give a (lesser) melee defense bonus, and a lot more end reduction.

Presumably, the plan was to adress some of the issues Starsman has pointed out earlier in this thread. As also pointed out, Bruising doesn't take care of some of them very well.

I would hope part of the plan for Bruising was to give something to solo Tankers to make them more than just slightly safer Brutes with fail damage. In which case, yes, I do think the impact of Bruising should be felt by all Tankers.

There didn't seem to be a common denominator of who noticed Bruising making an improvement and who didn't. The beta boards seem to be gone now, but from what I recall I read post from people who I know build well saying they did notice a change for the better and people who've posted looking for build help saying they didn't, and vice versa.

I personally tried out Bruising extensively on a very expensive l50 Inv/SS build, a l10 WP/EM, a l28 Fire/SS and a l5 SD/DM and couldn't really percieve a change from Live. I even ran some loose trials with the Inv/SS to see if the number of attacks needed to drop a l50 Rikti Boss had decreased any. It hadn't from what I saw.

So I stand by what I said before. Some people notice an improvement, some people don't.

Gee, Johnny, you want a high defense and high damage AT? Good luck with that. Why would anyone play anything else, for reasons other than concept?

On another note, pre-inventions but post GDN/ED, I had a friend of mine who played an energy blaster complaining that my inv/fire seemed to be outdamaging him. That was an opinion, and one I could have proven false.

Try advocacy based on facts, JB.
  16. I'll throw in another plug for Darkest Night from Soul Mastery, for even more -damage goodness.

You had complaints about the 4th edition, and that's your preference. It's a preference that's shared by my wife. I was merely stating my preference.

Back on topic, I think Doctor Strange is probably equivalent to a 15th or 17th level wizard, 3.5 edition-wise.

I agree that with just the PHB, the classes are pretty well balanced at the expense of being very similar.
I find that preferable to wizards outclassing everything else by level 7.
  19. And you certainly have to try the new Praetorian arc given by Hick Troyman, the Minister of Propaganda and comic artist.

I hear the fix for him appearing without pants is a patch or two down the road.

I don't see the current situation with the melee ATs as being very balanced or fair at all. Scrappers and Brutes would disagree, I imagine.

    .
And how would you address the imbalance, Johnny?
  21. Dude... I think you stumped the board.

    Nicely done!

My concern is narrower: how does it rank for secondaries, in helping Willpower tankers hold aggro? Again, stun and knockback work better with primaries that aren't harmed by stun and knockback.

Now, Invuln may lose some defense, Dark some heal, Fire some recovery, (and Willpower some regen), when mobs wander. But Invuln, Dark, and Fire will not lose aggro on those mobs. Willpower is in danger of losing aggro due to its design. That's why those kinds of otherwise valuable mitigation can be counterproductive.

If the only impact of knockback or stun on your tanker is "I take less damage", Kinetic Melee is very appealing. If you're building your Willpower tanker for soloing or scranking rather than being the main tank on difficult content, it probably works pretty well as well. If you want a Willpower tank that is made to hold aggro, there are better choices.
But only one, easily-skipped power does any knockback. There is plenty of knock-down in the set.

And, of course, the aggro of an enemy that is stunned does not matter - it isn't hitting anyone.

Now, if your guide is strictly concerned with "how can I keep the mobs in RttC so that I can maximize my regeneration," you have a point. Otherwise, it's just a matter of learning how to use the set's strengths to your advantage. A knocked-down enemy is not hitting your team, a stunned enemy is not hitting your team.

A controlled enemy is a controlled enemy, whether that is through knockdown, stun, or having them flail uselessly away against a hard target (a tank.)
