Hello everybody,

Blue sider gone to the Red and doing the "Thin Line" defeat badge, defeat 1000 PPD police peoples.

Am usually solo and happy to run at +8 foes so would be grateful for any steers as to a good location or mission (not mayhems) that I could crack on to the total please.

Thanks muchly.

If you are wanting to do this yourself, your best bet is mayhem missions. You (as a Tourist) can still run papers and Mayhems. You can't start normal arc missions until you fully switch.

Mayhem Missions are the easiest source for the badge, so I'm not sure why you would want to avoid them. You can even be working on the other badges while doing this one.

There are some 45-50 tip missions with PPD in them, can't remember specifics off the top of my head, though.

You can hit this link for a good idea where you might find them, but just make sure to double-check the article to see if you actually fight them, or if they're just window-dressing

The irony of wanting to earn this badge without doing Mayhems was that I sort of got it stuck in my head that the only place you COULD earn this badge was in Mayhems. Now that I think about it I suppose there are ways to do it without Mayhems, but to me that'd be like tying one hand behind your back for this. Good luck regardless.

Hi Guys,

well it looks like the way to go is indeed Mayhems.

In truth I was just being lazy (well at least trying to avoid ) about grinding out 5 Papers just to get one Mayhem.

I also wanted to check there was no one mish I could farm like the one for Longbow on Blue side.

I am a lvl 50 Scrapper gone full Villain, so will suck it up and go get those dudes with a wry smile. And as you so rightly point out get all the associated Mayhem badges along the way.

Thank you all for such prompt and helpful responses

I'd choose this one myself. It gives the Couch Potato badge and is available via villain flashback.

There are also missions in the Patron Arcs and the VEAT arcs with PPD.

I usually use the television mission as well. It goes even faster if you can find more people to help you kill.

I've been working on it by having a friend of mine start an Atlas mayhem on his alt account, then entering the mission and dropping the team on my level 50. Suddenly I'm a level 50 rampaging through level 7s in Atlas! (It's great for earning badge credit, and also if you ever felt like re-enacting a hurricane while playing CoH... zoooom, SMASH! KER-POW!!!)

Additionally, I've gotten several tip missions redside that have featured Paragon Police as the primary enemy type. Off the top of my head, I know there was one where I smashed through a Portal Corp. lab and another where I activated a Rikti artifact, but I'm pretty sure there was at least one more...

It is possible to farm the same mayhem mission over and over. Just make sure that you have more than 15 minutes when you leave the mission and reset it.

Hi Guys,

lol I just came in to say that I had found the perfect mish whilst getting the last couple of Accomplishment badges and stumbled across the Couch Potato from the Video.

However, and as usual, the wise heads have beat me to it

Thank you Snowie and all of you for the inputs. I am well on my way to the badge and a couple of runs should see me finished.

Cheers

PS I hope this helps out all the other Bluesiders that have recently switched and are treading the same well worn path.

This is only possible if the mission owner does not enter.

More details here at the wiki.

For the achievements such as setting the building on fire and destroy safes and maybe for defeating Heroes, then this is correct, but it should work for destroying PPD. I think that trick only works for resetting mission objectives instead of npcs and objects.

Starphoenix is correct. The PPD will naturally respawn, but the side missions only reset if the mission holder doesn't enter.

Yes, I fully understand that. I think any discussion about resetting Mayhems though, particularly in light of badging, has to emphasize the critical issue with the sides resetting (although it is tangential to the main thread point).

Its worth considering that 'Thin Line' is likely to be achieved, or significant progress made just by doing other CoV content, especially if you are fighting at x8. Paragon Police aren't exactly rare. So I would leave this badge to last - if you even still need it by then.

You're right that just doing the CoV content "naturally" would probably be enough to eventually get you the Thin Line badge.

But since I had to do the "Television: Video Games Made Me Do It" mission anyway to get the Couch Potato badge for my Hero-turned-Villain badge collector I realized I could finish off Thin Line there too.

I just set it to "-1/8x" to clear it of all Paragon Police. At that setting even my squishy Controller was able to blast through it quickly and I only had to repeat it a few times to get the full 1,000 PPD.

Access Ouroborus and get the mission "Video Games Made Me Do it". It's loaded with nothing but PPD and it gives the Couch Potato badge.

Well it's clear you read the first post in this thread.
Did you read the last post (or many of the others) in the thread before you posted this?
Thanks Captain Redundant.

It wasn't mentioned, but the Barracuda Strike Force's first mission is almost entirely Paragon PD. 150-200 per run, and if you are trying to get Arbiter or Master of the 5th Column Strike Force you don't need to farm at all.
