Having softcapped S/L and ranged/aoe may be overkill, especially if you're cutting into your overall performance to achieve that.

Personally I would not take Triage, but it doesn't look like you need Snap Shot either. What I may think of instead is to take Caltrops and keep it at a 1 slot, and put the spare slots into your Acid Mortar for certain choice procs such as Lady Grey's -res proc, or a few of the damage procs.
Can't look at the build atm so I can't speak as to the finer points of the build but in general:

I agree with Tangler. If you've got softcapped s/l defense that's more than enough, you don't need to bother with ranged/AoE. That said, I'm assuming you've got FFG selected for defense, giving you a huge chunk of defense that isn't very reliable depending how fast you move.

So with that, what you could do is build for more s/l defense so you're less vulnerable without the FFG in range if you do a lot of speed TFs and don't want to be constantly resummoning it.

If you've got high recharge you probably don't really need Snap Shot. I'd say grab Triage Beacon, just because even if you don't have the slots to give it any love its still a nice buff to throw down during a tough fight. Even moreso if you've got high recharge, I've got permahasten levels of recharge and I can have 2 Triage Beacons out which is a very underrated boon in TFs.

Caltrops is nice-ish but meh, I'd skip it. Having an AoE slow is very nice for a set like Traps, except Caltrops' area is tiny. If you need stuff to stay still you're better off with PGT since Caltrops will scatter them, albeit slowly.

One thing to note is the def debuff -res proc is actually from the Achilles' Heel set, not the Lady Grey set. The Lady Grey proc is a negative damage one. If you've got a spare slot for proccing the Mortar I'd recommend both an Achilles proc and a Devastation hold proc. They both work doubly well because the rounds the mortar fires are AoE. Devastation proc in Mortar + PGT = win.
  2. What he said. Raids on weekends plzkthx.

    Farming options

Alternative, yes. The positioning would be a pain since Footstomp's massive radius means you can just plop yourself right in the middle of a spawn and go nuts.

It would work fine, just SS/FA. WM/SD would also work, just the same again, not as well as SS/SD.

Or you're more than capable of grabbing aggro without it.

Or you had more important powers to take.

Or you don't have moronic ideas about teaming.

Taunt is nice, but skippable for PvE.

People don't compare an AoE Tanker build to a ST Scrapper build (or vice versa) because its meaningless to do so.

    Farm build?

Tanks are no longer the way for farming, but they are still more than capable. The top farming build heroside is either a Fire/Kin controller or an Elec/SD/Fire Scrapper.

For Tankers the best farming builds would be SD/Fire/Fire or SD/Elec/Fire.

As I really (*really*) stink at making builds I was hoping some kind hearted vet would throw me a bone on this one. I know I want to try to have a build that has Accelerate Metabolism and hasten both three slotted for recharge and stamina at 20, but I think I'm over reaching though. I'm not tied to any secondary really, if anyone has a suggestion I'm more then happy to listen to it. If anyone could post a "cookie cutter" rad build up to like 24, so I can see how you would do it I would really appreciate it! Thank you in advance!

P.S. I realize this is discussed to death, I really did try to shuffle through FAQs and pages but I didn't really see any answers that seemed to be recent (faqs I saw were issue 11 or so at the latest.) So my apologies for posting on a discussed thread
What PC said. We can help you much more with a build to work with.

That said, I can help out with your general questions. I've got a guide in my sig for Rad if you want to take a look, its got info on all the powers and slotting recommendations, how to use them etc.

    Onwards to question answer time:

Of the toggles Radiation Infection and Enervating Field are critical, Choking Cloud you can skip.

You're definitely not over-reaching to want Hasten and AM 3 slotted for rech and Stamina at 20. In fact I'd strongly recommend it to help with the end costs of the toggles, EF especially.

If you're not tied to any secondary, do you know what you want to do with the character? More teaming or more soloing, etc? That way we can better recommend a secondary for you, though I'd personally rather recommend a Corr Primary
  13. On my Son/Rad corr I can fight indefinitely running Weave/Hover/RI/EF using the Shriek/Scream/whatever the stun is called chain.

Only if I toggle on Tough do I eventually run out. That said, it takes me about as long to get down to 1/4ish endurance as it does for CP to recharge so gg.

/Fire or /Dark certainly. Is Siphon Life unresistable? What's good about FA and DA is that their self heals are unresistable so they don't get nerfed by Hami or whatever it is that does the -heal stuff.

Edit: if memory serves its the green Mitos. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I've tried so hard to like the heal bubble because it looks cool but I just can't. Even trying to justify it as constant animation-time-free healing to help with my resists I can't.

It just ticks too slowly and heals for too little. IMO it either needs to heal for more or tick more often. 83 hp a tick on an AT that has just under 1.1k base hp at 50 is like pissing into an ocean, let alone for other ATs.

If I need to top myself and/or others health bars off, I'll use Nullify Pain. A constant influx of healing is nice if you're constantly taking 83 points of damage or less but that never happens. I'd rather have the MM version with +regen. Sadly the only reason I'd take the pain bubble is for aesthetics or a set mule.

Also sadly too late! I am no longer leet. But maybe people can see my postcount and know that I once was, for the duration of a single post

You can't arrive at the desired 'truth' without using distortions, half truths and reframing the argument. Cold, hard logic based on empirical evidence has no place in discussions of AT performance.
F'real. My purpled Fire/Traps did way more than a level 5 Fire/Fire Blaster with Fireball. Therefore, Corrs do much more damage than Blasters :3

I agree with the others, skip the straight DAM IO. Just to clarify, you can only replace one of your CI sets with Hecatombs. You can only slot one of each purple IO in your build, for example if you put a Hecatomb proc in Haymaker you can't put one anywhere else in your build.

So make sure you put them in a power that will make the most of them, a power you use a lot so you get good use out of the proc but that also has high stats to take advantage of the high enhancement values you get from purples. On my SS/FA Brute I put the Hecatombs in Haymaker.
  18. Eh, I'd say it depends, what would you be taking instead?

  20. Well, 41% is plenty of defense but due to the way defense works going from 41% to 45% would reduce the amount of damage you exponentially.

Your call, really. I'd softcap it if you can.
  21. Here's the data chunk. Since the only s/l def I'm getting from my Primary is the Oblits in Atomic Blast you should be able to translate it easily enough.

Fair warning, its a tad on the pricey side :3

  22. Yeah

I'll admit, its very unconventional but it works great. Who cares if you took an extra melee attack and slotted Brawl if you still have 50+ slots and power selections left for all your primary and secondary stuff.

I can post my rad/kin build if you want to take a look.
  23. They usually come earlier in sets, around 3-4 slots. If you've got the money Kinetic Combats are great, 3.75% def for 4 slots. Smashing Haymakers work too but are much less effective for the slots which may require more slotting of melee powers than you might find palatable.

Using a few sets of Kinetic Combat, a steadfast +3% def, CJ, Weave and Scorpion Shield softcapped my s/l. Put them in Brawl/Boxing/whatever.

Reactive Armor for Tough is another option, its only 1.5% though. There's also some slow set that gives a little s/l def you could put in Siphon Speed but I'd really advise against it since it gives really ****** enhancement values.

The route I went (mostly copying/translating a friends softcap s/l fire/kin build) was the expensive route. While at first I balked at the idea of slotting Boxing, Brawl and Kick because lolwtf, it gave me immense freedom for the rest of my slots so I could get perma-hasten levels of recharge on the side as well as not gimp any of my attacks or kin powers.
  24. Speaking for myself only, I don't think its a problem you endeavour to view things differently from others. That's an admirable trait. What I object to about the way you post is not that you view things differently or build characters in a different way or strive for different goals.

What I object to is the back-handed way in which you insult everyone who doesn't play the way you play. It's all good to have an alternative viewpoint but you seem to ironically enough only consider your own viewpoint to have any merit.
