Did Doctered Wounds get expensive such that Merits and A-Merits are actual cost effective considerations? I haven't looked at them since around Spring. Someone had poured hundreds of them into the Market during last Winter and their crafted sale prices were continually trending lower. I was only working them casually, but I decided to get out when they were going for around 2-3 million Inf (depending on piece) with relatively long wait time for sales before I got caught with unsold inventory.

It happens all the time with a couple of my Bases, even after I paid Rent. Just sell off the power generator and buy it back, and it'll reset.

I received a few spam emails on Exalted. Yeah, I know I can restrict the senders in Options, but I like to participate in adding to their ignore peg counts.

Really? Since when and what's the cap now?

Quote:This reminds me of a team I joined back in the early days of COV. I was on my Ice/Rad Corruptor (mid-20ish maybe) and got invited into a team of 5 (I think) who were already in a mission. They seemed pretty happy to have picked up a healer and from what I gathered from their chat, they had been having a hard time with the mission. The team consisted of a couple of meleers and the rest ranged (kinda fuzzy now). Once I got to where they were I saw that they were fighting Freaks who were conning redish to me.One of the charms of the game is how all sorts of different combinations of ATs and powersets can achieve their goals if they play to each other's strengths. What you had here was players not playing to their own strengths, and not changing their play to mesh with yours.
Leaving is certainly a legitimate option. But it can be rewarding to show a group like that how to work together and maximize their synergy. It might be tricky to explain things without coming across as bossy, and the typing required is a pain, but sometimes those teams can really turn around. It's up to you whether you have the inclination and patience to step up and make the effort -- I know I don't always feel like it myself.
So the Brute initiates the attack by taunting a Freak Tank while standing with the rest of us.I hadn't made it a practice yet to not stand with the team, so I got worked over by the Freak grenades like the rest of them. The Brute rushes to meet the Freaks and get chopped up in quick order. Everyone else is all spread out due to the grenades' knock back, so I couldn't aura heal them all, let alone effectively using of my debuffs, and we get cut down one by one.
As I'm returning from the Hospital, the team morale is pretty low and there's talk of giving up on the mission. I told them that it didn't look that bad and we should try pulling. So one of the ranged team mates goes to pull. He takes a shot at a Freak Tank and stands his ground. He gets alpha'ed and the Brute tries to go in. He stayed up a little longer, but goes down. The rest of the team runs so it wasn't a total wipe this time.
So they're again discussing giving up. I asked them to let me pull this time. After the rest come back from the Hospital, I told them to hang back down the corridor a bit (office map). I go up to the threshold of the next room, picked a lieutenant Freak, cast Rad Infection on him and immediately ducked back around the entrance way. The green cloud aggros the whole group and I see "$#*% RUN!", "RUN!" on team chatand they all bolt. When my RI anchor rounds the corner, I Freeze Rayed him, step out and tossed Env Field on another Lieutenant and Frost Breath them for more aggro. I don't think they saw all of this, but after half a minute, they tip toed back to see why I hadn't died yet. They did see me beating down the Freak Tank with Air Superiority. They waited another 10 secs or so before getting the courage to join the fight.
They stayed to witness my technique with the next group. For the rest of the mission, I tanked for them. You'd think I'd get some respect, but no. On one group, a Freak Tank was able to stun me with Hand Clap after Air Superiority missed and then smashed me down with my toggles dropped. The Brute made a snide comment to the effect, "so you think you can tank?"I remained civil and replied that the only difference between me as a Rad and a Tank is that I didn't have anti-mez armor and that, yes, I could tank any boss with Air Superority.
For some reason, the team broke up after we finished the mission. -
TweakCOH will help you do that. The app is old, but should still work from what I've read.

Can you use power customization so that the MM animations don't emanate from the forehead? If so, maybe you can rationalize it as radiant heat waves.
-
The original petless mastermind concept proposal was that you would have to solo. If you team, there would be too much ambiguity about your contribution level relative to you just being along for the ride, ie being powerleveled.

You're on the wrong board to ask for Inf. Go to the Market board.

Quote:F2P can't use BroadcastThe thing is, so much team recruiting is done using the good old, "<Blah> team forming, pst if interested," method that F2P players will be completely excluded from joining teams that form this way (which is most of them, isn't it?).
I predict there will be a torrent of exchanges like this on every server:[Broadcast] Noobee: what is pst
[Broadcast] Anglyznorgast1cyzm: pst = please send tell
[Broadcast] Noobee: how do i send a tell
[Broadcast] PrettyPinkKittee90210: /tell

The 25,555 has been the floor since last weekend, I think. I saw it a lot and matched it to get the Alchemical Silvers for my memorization badges on my new characters.

I'm already on Exalted Events and another one. I'll drop the other one and switch to VIP.

Leaving aside the communications issue, like sometimes you just don't feel that it's worth speaking up, so eh.
The +2 mission at level 11 is crazy. Even with Beginner's Luck, you'll have a hard time hitting while all the enemies can pretty much auto-hit you. No way would I have charged the full spawn groups. I would have asked for a pull and if the neither the Blaster or Defenders stepped up, I would have used my ranged origin temp power. And if the Defenders were staying clustered way in the back as you said, I would have pulled to them. This is so that they were in the mix to spread the aggro and thus to have to fight to defend themselves, and to ensure that they'd be around me with their debuffs and heals while they're healing themselves. Even if the Defenders back off, I'll keep maneuvering myself to stay with the group. If it becomes so blatantly obvious that the reason they're in the back is because they didn't want to participate with the fight, ie leaching, then I'd quit.
As for Time Manipulation, you didn't say if you played with this new powerset yet. I only have a level 22 */TM Controller, so the low level experience is still fresh for me. In regards to the TM heal, it takes so very long to recharge. I was just able to upgrade to 3 level 25 recharge IOs and it finally feels like I could possibly keep someone alive when the going gets rough. In addition, that DOT heal gimmick means the initial burst heal is pretty dinky and really takes some time to get used to.
For your specific example with 5 TM Defenders, if they take the DOT heal into consideration after noting you trying to solo the alpha strikes and getting beaten up, they could have set up a routine with say 2 of them giving you a heal before you charged in so you'd be constantly healing during the alpha strike. Another 2 could come in after you and cast their heals after the alpha strike to top you off. The fifth can be in reserve to heal the rest of the team after the aggro spreads when the other 4 are still recharging. Of course, tactic might be a bit advanced without more play time experience.
On an aside, during today's commute to work, my mind was wandering and I suddenly realized the TM PBAOE -tohit toggle is basically Hurricane without the Repel effect. I knew it seemed familiar. -
Quote:5. Non-Constructive posts are prohibited.
Below is a non-exhaustive list of examples of non-constructive posts.- Spam - this is considered to be repetitive posting of the same topic or text or nonsensical posts that have no substance.
- Do not create threads/posts to “petition” for game features, additions, changes, or other issues. You may post suggestions and/or ideas to the boards, but you may not create a ‘petition’ for others to sign. This is bumping in disguise and will not be allowed.
- Do not engage in Lobbying on the Official Forums. Lobbying is continually bringing up the same topic repeatedly in numerous different threads or as an off-topic post in official threads to get developer attention. This form of posting is not permitted. We recognize you may be passionate about a specific subject, however this sort of posting is non-constructive and will not be tolerated.
- A rant is a post which is long-winded, redundant and filled with angry, non-constructive comments. A free exchange of ideas is essential to building a strong sense of community and helpful in the development of the game, but rants are disruptive and incite flaming and trolling. Please post your thoughts in a concise, clear manner and avoid going off on rambling tangents.
- Cross posting - As a courtesy to others before beginning a new thread, please look to see if an active thread on that topic has already been established using the Search feature. If so, place your comments there instead. Multiple threads on the same subject clutter up the forum needlessly and many good ideas may be lost. Use the Search link to keep discussions about one topic to one thread only.
- Thread bumping (posts the sole purpose of which is to keep a thread at the top of a particular forum) is prohibited. To request increased visibility for a thread, please contact a forum moderator.
- ‘Thread necromancy,’ or ‘necro-posting’ is responding to a thread that has not been active (has had no posts) in at least 30 days. ‘Necro-posting’ is a form of thread ‘bumping’ and as such is prohibited. If you wish to discuss a considerably older topic, create a new post and link to the older discussion.
- Contradictive feedback can be very useful, provided that it is presented in a civil, factual manner. Tell us what you don't like and why and how you feel it could be improved. Posts that are insulting and rude may be deleted, no matter how valid the ideas behind them may be.
- Constructive feedback on in-game mechanics is encouraged; however, non-constructive, “NERF X!” threads are not permissible.
- Posts made in brevity that do not add to the conversation are not allowed, as they do not engender constructive discussion. Examples include, but are not limited to, "/signed," and “/jranger.” Users are encouraged to be elaborate in their posts.
- Pyramid quoting - this is a response to a forum thread which contains the quotes of four or more previous posters, sometimes with additional spaces added unnecessarily.
- We understand that, from time-to-time, players may decide leave the game for various reasons, and may wish to create a departure thread on the forum. Departure threads are permitted on the server forums only, provided that the departure thread is non-inflammatory. Departure threads used to vent are prohibited.
- If you ask a question on the board, be aware that questions on our boards are most commonly answered by the community. Demands for answers from NCsoft are not permitted, however we may often address some questions and concerns with an official topic. In the event of legitimate emergencies, or other unprecedented scenarios, we will endeavor to provide comments, even if it is only to state that there is no officially available information.
This section here was bugging me. Related points were scattered about. I've tried to sort the list better.

Quote:Note:If you right-mouse on another player's name, you can select "add note" (or "edit note" after you've added one) and type little reminders to yourself that will stay associated with that player's global name even if he or she changes characters. This can be an extremely potent social tool -- you can look like you remember everyone effortlessly, even if you're scatterbrained. I use these "player notes" extensively. Not only does it help me remember, and warmly greet, friends -- and avoid the (relatively few) people I'd rather avoid -- it's also cool when some random character speaks to me and I am able to open the player note and see a message I sent myself in the past like "Cool-headed on a Katie Task Force; complimented Sister Power's costume."
You may have to go into Menu-->Options to enable "Show Player Rating = Always" so you can see the stars over your rated players' heads. I'm not sure what the default setting is, but it wasn't very consistently set with my roster of characters.
FYI:
Invention items storage capacities.
In terms of Invention enhancements, now would be a good time to start learning how to craft them - for personal use and to sell them. The Salvages required for the basic Common IOs (accuracy, damage, recharge, endurance reduction/modification, heal, etc) are really cheap at the Auction House right now.
The benefits of crafting Common IOs (the generic non-named ones) are that after making a quota for each level batch, you'll "memorize" them. This gives you a badge and more salvage or recipe inventory capacity. However, the most important thing is that, once memorized, you won't need to have a recipe on hand to craft more of that particular level of Common IO and the crafting cost is halved. Thus, you can craft to sell and the profit is pretty much built in even if you ask for a moderate price. Of course, many well-to-do players will pay large sums to just "get it nao!" and not bother bid creeping, so there's the real potential to make good Inf with minimal time and effort, and no risk.
Once you've got Common IOs down, you may want to advance to crafting and selling Set IOs. There's a bit more thought involved with determining what's good to work on. The Market board can give you some ideas.

Quote:added clarification. As was mentioned you can monitor your "last chance to hit" percentage.
If it wasn't made clear how to do that, you'll find it in the Combat Attributes window under "Base" settings. You'll find the Combat Attributes window at the top edge of your power tab. Click on Combat Attributes, open up the Base section and right-click on "Last Chance to Hit". It should give you an option to monitor those numbers. The new window it opens can be dragged around the screen to a spot out of the way.
You can monitor up 10 stats. Example: screenshot (see the little box on the right side) -
I've always used the default ESC to unqueue a queued power. Like when I'm suddenly knocked back after I just hit Build Up and a nuke to cancel the nuke during my getting up animation.
