Cancel power or unqueue power?

I was noticeing under the keybinds they you have the options of Cancel power followed by Unqueue power. My question is what is the difference between the two? and is there an advantage to useing one over the other?

Cancel is awesome. You can turn off any buffs in your buff list even those from other players. so if you don't like the fire effects from fire shield you can cancel it (you can just right click the icon in the list). I guess Unqueue would be when you have a power that needs a target queued up but something happened and now you want to select something without it going off.

Saw something about this but not sure how exactly it works. So you're not turning off the fire shield graphics, you're actually cancelling the shield so you don't have the shield at all?

Correct. You can right-click-dismiss buffs now.

However, the OP isn't talking about that. After testing in game, AFAICT there is no difference between canceling a power and unqueuing it. It results in the same thing: the next power is no longer queued (bound first cancel to SHIFT+P and unqueue to SHIFT+P, they did the same thing).

Cancel power as setup under keybinds will turn off Autofire powers as well as unqueue any power that you have set to go off. Unqueue will just turn off any power that's set to go off next without affecting autofire powers.

For example, you have Hasten on autofire and you hit an attack power so it's queued to go off as soon as you get within range of the enemy you have targeted. Cancel (normally bound to the Z key) will turn off both the attack and hasten. Unqueue will turn off the attack without affecting Hasten.

Ooooh. That's why I didn't see a difference. I don't have an autofire on most of my chars, and this was one of them.

Game default or StarGeek default? I think I long ago did something odd with my default binds as I have oddball things like ESC not being /bind to unselect when I make a new toon anymore and such so it's hard for me to test.

I've always used the default ESC to unqueue a queued power. Like when I'm suddenly knocked back after I just hit Build Up and a nuke to cancel the nuke during my getting up animation.

Game default. I double checked before I posted. I don't recall if there's a default bind for unqueue or not. Mine is currently not set.

/unbind Z
/ShowBind Z
Returns "Key z binded to: powexec_abort"
*checks options under keybinds"
Cancel Power = Z

edit: Checking the Wiki page there isn't a default for unqueue (/powexec_unqueue).
