You cannot buy the Doctored Wounds set with A-Merits?

Nope.

A-Merits only buy rare recipes, or uncommons that cost more than 100 Reward Merits (Steadfast Res/Def is an exception)

Since Doctored Wounds is an uncommon, and doesn't cost many reward merits, it's not available via A-Merits.

I think A-Merits were kind of intended to be a slightly easier method of acquiring the high dollar stuff.

Doctored Wounds is an uncommon set, and uncommon sets generally have merit costs of under 100 merits (the only exception I can recall is the Steadfast Protection Res/Def). Recipes with a <100 merit cost cannot be purchased with A-Merits.

Huh. OK then, thanks for the information. I always sort of assumed everything was in there, but this is the first time I ever went looking for something that wasn't.

If you're willing to be a bit creative, you could just use the 1/2 A-Merits to buy a high-demand item (like LotG +Recharge), then sell that and use the sweet, sweet, blood money to buy the Doctored Wounds (crafting before selling will net you more inf, but take a bit more effort and time).

Yeah, (fake) money isn't really an issue, I just realized I had accidentally stockpiled 8 A-merits on a character that I want to take red side for the patron powers. I figured I'd blow through the merits on stuff I needed rather than money makers, but... meh.

Why would you want to anyway? You could buy the entire Doctored Wounds set on the market for less than you could sell a LotG 7.5 that you can buy for 2 A-merits.

Ah, makes sense... just a warning, there's a 20 hour timer after you purchase anything with a-merits before you can make another purchase! So at a minimum, that'd take 80 hours (/4 days-ish) to blow through them all.

I'm sure you've got some builds out there that could use various things like a LOTG+Recharge or other smexy IO like that. Never can have enough of those!

Math alert: 60 hours.
Spend 2.
Wait 20 hours.
Spend 2.
Wait 20 hours.
Spend 2.
Wait 20 hours
Spend 2.

Since you start and finish with the spending events, you only have to wait for the timer 3 times.

Well, if you don't mind some traveling you can convert your A-Merits into Reward Merits, and then use those to buy Doctored Wounds at a Reward Merit Vendor. That would be absurdly expensive, though.

I was factoring in the downtime afterwards That was totally intentional, duh!

Math is hard!
Plus, I'll probably earn at least 2 more A-Merits while waiting to get rid of the remainder anywho.

I didn't even think of that, but 480 seems a bit much. Although I did just buy 10,000 points 'cause I was drunk the other night...

How would you do that? I haven't heard of a way to convert A-Merits into Reward Merits.

I think they're talking about Astral Merits rather than Alignment Merits.

Did Doctered Wounds get expensive such that Merits and A-Merits are actual cost effective considerations? I haven't looked at them since around Spring. Someone had poured hundreds of them into the Market during last Winter and their crafted sale prices were continually trending lower. I was only working them casually, but I decided to get out when they were going for around 2-3 million Inf (depending on piece) with relatively long wait time for sales before I got caught with unsold inventory.

Oh, so I am.

I blame the ambiguous overuse of the letter "A".
